  1. You miss the point here. At first look I was thinking the same but if you compare it with delanclip price is the same but there is great difference this clip have build in rechargeable battery delan not. This is wireless clip so it is better then delanclip and the price is the same.
  2. Yes I don't have IR filter so my diameters is high, even to high by my taste.
  3. Just reply to leave it for others too.
  4. OK. Delan clip is good made so this is not problem. Could be one more problem I didn't mention it. If you use floppy as light filter this is sometime to much if you didn't remove IR filter and you don't need too. for me best filter was 1 layer made with exposed photo film. You can get one in some photo shop where they doing old fashion analog photography. There is always beginning of the film exposed and it is thrown to garbage. You will get it for free. Here is example of my clip and cam setup. Under camera settings you have orientation and threshold setting. On model you have model dimensions and position from center of your movement what is in neck position. Remember middle LED is reference point for entering values.
  5. Here some more examples of using smartphone and Trinus Gyro app. It is nor DCS but it is Shit thunder. and here is DCS
  6. I don't have DK2 or TrackIR but simple logic and common seance tells you not to buy TrackIR. DK2 is just double price of TrackIR but give much much more. So will be better choice definitely. Should you buy now DK2 when CV1 is around the corner? I have same question here and even was thinking about starting new thread with DCS pilots impressions about using oculus rift or similar VRset. I don't care about technical specification. Something what is good for some VR immersion maybe is not good for flight sim. I never find on DCS forums somebody discussing about that. VR have its own pro and cons same as monitor or large TV screens. For example with 4K TV 65" you will get 100deg. FOV if you place it about 25" to 30" in front of you. This will be the same sharpness as 27" 1920x1080 monitor. I think you should wait bit more and use your webcam for headtracking and use FTnoIR or Opentrack free software. This will save you 160$ or if you don't have webcam buy PS3eye for 20$ so this will save you 140$ minimum. If you got good 5" smartphone with resolution of screen minimal 1920x1080 you can try this google cardboard solution. http://www.amazon.com/Leegoal-Universal-Virtual-4-0-5-7inch-Smartphones/dp/B00WQEGLCO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437974703&sr=8-1&keywords=Virtual+Reality+Video+Glasses+for+4.0-5.7inch+Smartphones you will need as well app for it like trinus gyre like in this video. It is not DK2 but close but good alternative to kill the time till CV1.
  7. How did you losing dot or two? Is they canceling itch other or you just lost it? First of all make sure you enter correct distance and angle form your clip to cam. Than enter correct values for clip LED distance. Best position for placing cam is opposite from your clip depend on which side of headphones you place it. Clip should look in direction of PS3eye in 90deg. also make sure you positioning your cam so 3dots should be in center of the screen and should not exit when you are moving. This could happened if you are to close to cam and zoom. Unzoom could fix this problem. All this should reduce possibility to dots overlap and cancel one another. If dots disappear just like that than in cam setup play with threshold values. That also depend on light in room and did you remove or not IR filter from cam. Also could be problem with clip or better say if it is create correctly with proper resistors and power value. For example I got proper values for rechargeable 2.4V batteries but when they close to be empty that start to happened to me but I know need to be recharged. BTW I'm using opentrack. Free track didn't release patch for almost 3 years, FTnoIR is still developing but opentrack is releasing patches more friquent and I thing it is better now. https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases
  8. OK so it is from DCS user perspective not that good for use similar like DK1 with bad resolution and huge screen door effect. But concept is promising so I will continuing to track this or similar technology until they reach quality level needed for DCS. Good to know that information from first hand real DCS user.
  9. I start this discussion as one of the solution for virtual cockpit use. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145361 Point is with this relatively cheep hardware you don't need additional touch screen for cockpit because it will immerse your hands inside your 4Ktv for natural intuitive usage of cockpit instruments and switches. Could be use with VR too. What do you think about it?
  10. No but I'm tracking this piece of hardware for about last year. Price is around 80$ so it is not that expensive. There is lot of other piece of hardware for sims which is offer significantly less usage and immersion in game then this. There is open source SDK for it so we already can use it. Here is example using LM in CoD with LM mouse app. In DCS we need less moves for interact in cockpit. Point is with VR reducing problems with keyboard, you can not see it and you are using intuitively your virtual cockpit naturaly with your hands like you are inside. For those who still want to use screens it will be again less expensive solution because you don't need to buy or bzild additional instruments or switches because you will use one in game so better spend this mony on 50"4KTV and you will have perfect cockpit and one more big thing. If you build fisical cockpit it is always dedicated to one plane with virtual cockpit on screen this is not case. I just whant your reactions and what do you think about such technology from DCS world point of view?
  11. What do you think guys about Leap Motion? I think it is promising technology especially for use in virtual cockpit. Even now without some special software implementation you could use it true mouse app and use your hands to interact with instruments instead of mouse.
  12. In opentrack you can use oculus rift as your tracking device so could be used if you want non 1:1 head movemant as it is with trackIR. If you will be satisfied with view and quality of the picture you don't need trackIR any more at all. You cen sell it and reduce cost of VR.
  13. Yes true. I just hope will not take that much time like with freetrack protocol.
  14. Yes I could agree with all of you say but leapmotion for example is already there as hardware all of this is allready possible to use even if you create LM as mouse device and program it on just two fingers. Everithing is already there. If you doing your flying pit you don't need nothing else than just your hotas stands placed like it is in game cockpit. So basically position of your sticks are like it is ingame cockpit sou what you will see in game you will intuitively try to reach and grab your real joystick in real space because what you see in game is overlap with real space positioning. That is practical use of technology we already having on disposal. So no need for some expensive cockpit build what is any way limited on just one plane and virtual one is always change with model you fly. This way you reducing cost of your pit without loosing anything with immersion in game. and it is even better than fiscal pit who have point only with monitors or projectors. All you describe is expensive way to open it to the bottom to be able to sneak pick on your keyboard and hotas. Keyboard you will not need at all if you are using virtual cockpit with your hands. As well in DCS or other simulation you are seating and don't really need this room spacing sensors which are pointless in seating position you just need 6DOF. All this you are really need for sims are already there to create full immersiv virtual pit.
  15. This is possible solution and full immersion using your hands as mouse in virtual cockpit.
  16. Problem solved. Today 2.3 rc13 is released and it's working. I didn't have downloading problems and I guess that was problem with last version by missing or corrupted some files.
  17. I guess this is it but where is this headtracker.dll by default placed in DCS? I didn't live manually created headtracker folder or files, after I test it and didn't work I simply delete it and put on default version. Is maybe a problem a bad version of downlodad opentrack 2.3 rc12p1? I got huge problems with downloading reporting some errors. Manage to download it with Jdownloader and unzip it only with 7zip. In install folder there is only 32bit exe. Comparing with 2.2 which have 64bit exe and have some more files. Did someone have some alternative link for downloading 2.3 rc12p1 to check it out?
  18. That is the point of all of this. Practical value, personaly I don't care about tehnical details what resolution per eye screendoor or what ever. VR or 2D screen monitor have its pro and con's. VR give you better immersion, 3D, better sense of space but on other hand less sharp picture, bad reading details like instruments, screendoor. 2D monitor give you higher resolution, sharp and clear picture better details but less immersion no 3D. So it is opposite and main point is which details you need more in gameplay of games you play. I know some people who buy DK2 and not using it any more because after trill of immersion and 3D they performances in game decreased because they missed some details so they abbandoned VR and today claims they will never use it again. Simply disappointed in the end. I'm not for or against VR just want to figured out is it worth it. 2D screens technically that's it not much practical valued improvements but VR is improving constantly. Question is did they reach level of details we need in DCS? For some games this is not important but in DCS you need to be able using your instruments and spot your enemy on horizon in time.
  19. Thank you m8 but this is no issue for me, not working. headtracker.dll is not problem because 2.2 and FacertracknoIR working. 2.3 id dead in DCS but working for example in Elite Dangerous.
  20. I'm very interested in VR as an option especially for Sims. Comparing DK1 vs DK2 screendoor effect decrease and according to SkateZilla reliable information there is no screendoor in CV1. Thanks m8 to share this with us. ;-) I could live even with some screendoor but sharpnes of picture and how instruments will be easy to read is for me most important issue. Comparing some prices of DK2 with TrackIR for example DK2 is twice as much than TrackIR5 with clip but give much much more. Real comparison will be triple monitor or Ultra wide vs VR.
  21. Didi anyone knows something about how huge impact have screendoor effect on CV1? Also how cockpit instruments will be readable in CV1? Those are biggest issue which could move people from using VR.
  22. I upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3rc12p1 version but it is not recognized at all in DCS but working in Elite Dangerous for example. 2.2 stable working as well as FacetracknoIR but 2.3 not. Did anyone experiance similar problems or is it only me? Thanks.
  23. Nice job. I'm also working on Croatian skin so called "Romanian" It is similar with this and name was given because this color scheme made when MIG 21 was in Romania on general technical service. It is almost done but have to find time to finish it with some wearing. http://i.imgur.com/rybm90L.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ELN92Vz.jpg
  24. I was having similar problem. Skins disapire from editor even core one. Problem was when I was packing some skin in to zip file I leave it in liveries folder. That zip file cause all problems with skins. When I was remove that zip file everithing start to work normal again.
