  1. Aries, did you try maybe with Trinus VR? It is different app for VR. Also work with TrackIR or Opentrack so no need for mobile gyro sensors. So will work with 6DF.
  2. Even I personaly prefer more Nvidia over AMD last 8 years I'm using AMD/ATI cards. Simply Nvidia is not that much better how much it cost. Right now R9 290x is best buy option. Most performance per $. It is not fresh model, but will be god for another 3 or 4 years. It is cheaper than GTX 970 and significant better performance in benchmarks. If you don't need to think about money than go to GTX 980 ti or R9 Fury x.
  3. number3. First of all you should made corect input of your position clip to camera. Then calibrate it. Other you can't expect will work outside of camera FOV. Also check that your LED is not overlapping and cancel it or is just need better threshold tune. That is thing you have to adapt and get use to it. When I start to use headtracking I was as well having to fast movement and constantly getting out of FOV and lose tracking. In the beginning you will feel little stiffen but will get use to it soon.
  4. Don't get me wrong, I am for VR and hope will be playable but all this immersion lose important in moment when you loosing competitiveness against other players in PvP. No one will fly with handicap. In other hand if this disadvantages will not be much or oposite if VR will give you advantage in some aspects this will increase usage of VR definitely.
  5. Just to give you preview on some hand in game stuff in developing. Imagine using this hand controllers inside your dcs cockpit with or without VR
  6. That is proving android tablet is better. Sell that rotten apple. :smartass:
  7. So they actually lost advantage in release date so they are late for minimum 4 months now. There is some other concerns about VR and DCS World what is topic here. This video is not only one where users say that Oculus picture and screendoor effect is better with Oculus. When we compare screens used in both PPI is similar if its not equal. That could only means Oculus have slightly better optic. If we can consider that as better at all. I guess Oculus is slightly blurrier what is reason for weaker screendoor effect feeling. In DK1 people reducing screendoor effect with additional plastic in front of the screen which make picture more blurred bat with less noticeable screendoor effect. From DCS player perspective more blur means less readable instruments and hard spotted ground target which is already problem in DCS VR. I check this guy channel and can say he is not that passionate flight sim oriented player. He love casual War Thunder play and he is not fly checking instruments at all so his impressions is not valuable from DCS World player perspective. So far there is no single answer on major issues for us DCS users. How good you can reed instruments and spot targets on Vive or OR CV1.
  8. Is there DEV Vive version at all? Announcement is that Vive should be released before Oculus but Oculus already have CV version and DK2 version which is called Developer Kit. Logic say that Vive is CV because it is already presented in that way and there is no any picture or announcement that will be different final product. Simplythere is no time do create Vive CV different than this one already available.
  9. Don't worry this will hold better than original.
  10. You should play a bit with accela filters set up. That is how you set up your smoothness.
  11. Guys some older and now affordable 4K TV supporting 4K resolution but it is questionable are good for close distance because of the PPI. [ame] [/ame] I think 4K and VR is still in developing and best results we can wait in future but right now maybe is too expensive.
  12. Compared to G940 x-55 is feel like toy too. Problem is if you switch from TMW or G940 to Saitek you will always have feeling it will crush under your fingers how light it feel. I will never change G940 for saitek there is no benefit from it at all. G940 is better HOTAS. If I will switch to other HOTAS only choice in that case is TMW but even than you should think about it twice. Point is TMW is better quality and definitely comparable with G940 but the question is price. Is TMW that much better how much is it cost? If you don't have problem with mony and you can afford it go for it other way will be much better invest your savings in better GPU or Screen. Thet difference will be more noticeable.
  13. One of the major problem with VR is fact that you cant spot targets on ground or at least it is very hard to do that. People playing with blue and red markings over target to be visible. This is in contradiction by realism and immersion which VR brings. Is it possible to make this targets more visible in VR to be able to fly without this markings on or on multiplayer servers without this markings?
  14. I already decide to wait for StarVR to get on market. I think it is worth it, difference is huge. 210° FOV against 110° by Oculus/Vive. Most of the so called child sickness will be fixed by Oculus mostly who is already in dev version almost 3 years in public use so Vive already benefit from it. Same will be with StarVR who will come out about year after Oculus and Vive. Maybe even Oculus and Vive release new model with 210° FOV in that time period. Major difference is actually only in 2 wide screens and optimized lenses for it so it is not rocket science and parts for it already exist on market.
  15. LNR212 and streakeagle that is my point. 4K is so good and quality so you will be able to use 65" curved without any problem on 50cm distance. With larger screen and when you set up your FOV in game with larger screen you will have larger FOV. For example let's take same distance from screen no matter on size. 48" will have 110° to approximate max 120° FOV but in same time without visual decreasing of quality 65" will have 170° FOV whot is much better. 48" is not showing full potential of 4K. In next 6 to 12 months price of now some even 2 year old models will decreasing and 60 to 65" curved 60hz 4K will be affordable same as GTX 980 or R9 Fury and with such TV and GPU who will need Oculus or Vive. That is my point, with little patience in next 12 months 65" curved 4kTV with proper GPU will cost same as today 48" 4KTV with same GPU.
  16. What is the point of 4K on just 48"? 48" is good with 1080p too. Point of 4K is to get large screen close so you don't see pixels. Smaller than 55" 4K loosing point. I think 34" Ultra Wide Curved 1440 monitor is better option than 48" 4K TV. Don't get me wrong I'm personally like idea of 4K TV but best option will be 60" to 65" where 4K will show its full potential and advantages but not in just 48" where this advantages is reducing with size of the screen.
  17. Wait for one more year and get Star VR with 210° FOV. That will be ultimate imersion, FOV like in real life no black part and tunnel vision.
  18. I believe will work. What is the point of producing expensive hardware just for one game? Major VR will be standardize so will work same as Vive or Oculus. Only problem will be 5K graphic, to be more precise minimum hardware requirements. For this we will need just better SLI/CF support just like for 4K TV but this feature of full FOV is worth to buy another graphic card. It will be similar like for multiple monitors. Lowering details or buy additional GPU. Also DX12 support will help a lot because it have better optimization for multi core usage and multi GPU usage. That is major advantage of DX12. Any way future is bright.
  19. Vive and Oculus are behind corner but new player coming in to game, StarVR. It is VR based on two separate screens with resolution of 2560x1440 per eye and FOV of 210° wide and 130° up. Vive and Oculus is around 100°x100°.
  20. Opentrack is basically "upgraded" FacetrackNoIR and have more options and possibilities and it is more frequently updated. I try both and it is true I'm using Opentrack now.
  21. That was camera zoom not in game zoom.
  22. Exactly with using third part software we could prove the point of such request. Devs don't have time with testing it for our DCS users specific needs. With such test and proving the point they could get valuable and precise information to do that in Oculus software. Maybe they don't even play DCS at all and don't know our needs for real. So how we could expect them to do if they don't know what we are talking about at all. We need to show them exactly what we want and why. That is the point they need our help.
  23. I don't have OR but I'm interested to get one, probably CV1 so I'm collecting usable information's from here. My only point is if someone bitching about this problem solution is out there for testing or just get use to it as an realism feature. In other hand OR is still in developing and we could not expect from OR dev's to have focus on DCS. Our needs from VR set in DCS is specific and OR Developers will do something for us only we provide them good informations and for that we need to test things. You don't need to use third part software but in this beta stage every one of us have some sort of obligation to test some features at least to prove the concept so OR dev's could build this features in software and get exactly information to see how to do that. Otherwise we cant expect anything from OR dev's if we don't provide them proper informations and proves if some feature worth wile to be work on it. If we want better optimized product for DCS is not only on ED or OR dev's, it is on us as well.
  24. There is lot of complaining about this. Also there is solution allready for this problem by using opentrack head tracking software which make Oculus Rift working in same way as trackIR did. Software is free and if you have DK2 you got all hardware you need. Why nobody try it and send report about it instead constantly complaining about it and do nothing. Only thing you can loose is 15 minutes of your time but you can solve your problems already and will be for free.
  25. Good educational video especially for us who don't have any VR and need any details before we decide to go with WR or large screen monitor or what ever. My question is did you try alternative with head tracking? According to some sources you can use Oculus as headtracking hardware in opentrack software but in that case head tracking should work as trackIR with zoom and non 1:1 head movement. You should try it. You got oculus and opentrack is freeware. You just need some time to play with it but benefit could be fixing all the problems you mention in this video.
