Friends, all you ground pounders will be happy to know, that from now forth, i shall no longer shoot you with aim 120's . It is unsatisfying , and those poor guys have it hard enough already. You may now thank me.
-
Because your CPU is the bottleneck. Still wouldn't explain why you'd get LOWER framerates, but it does explain why you're not getting MOAR FPS

Can the Mig cruise (non burners) @ above vapor trail height ? It appears it needs afterburner to stay at that high altitude ?

Still having problems with replay function
Maximus_Lazarus replied to Maximus_Lazarus's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Meh, maybe i'm being too simple about this , but for me : 1) Tracks work fine in Non-beta 2) Tracks do NOT work in beta. Always end up in the grass upon take off according to sh^tty replay beta crap . Maybe the replay function hasn't been properly tuned with the new flight model of the F15 ? -

Meh not playing beta for the forseeable future . Too much "beta" if you know what i mean. -

Nope, it's the beta. Everything's fine in 1.2.7 -
Still having problems with replay function

yeah i was playing beta and was trying to "replay" in beta. All of the tracks are completely butchered and useless. -

Well, the "replay" in this beta is BEYOND broken. Every single track is useless and so far from the truth it's not even funny. "I'm pretty sure i did NOT crash into the ground after 2 minutes and then stared that the map for another 20 minutes" (latest "replay" ) Jezus christ this is annoying -
Proper tactics advice (104th Pheonix server)
Maximus_Lazarus replied to PLAGUEz's topic in Multiplayer
Man, the amount of anti air on that server is CRAZY  Getting air to air kills i find is also harder than on random other servers. I think it's because there's some people flying there that have been doing so for the last 15 years or something (i recognized some SUPER OLD names from way way long ago) (* in other words, i am too noob) Anyway, in the briefing i think it says that in some areas you should not fly below 25000 feet. Also, if you are on blue team, (or red i forgot, you start north west of the map) , there are some targets for ground pounders east of the base. Anyway, fly around a little and then watch your flight back on TacView. That should give you an idea where NOT to go. -
It's a russian player that has a missile fired at him.
-
So, i just watched an entire track where i apparently was standing in the grass for 10 minutes. I'm pretty sure i was flying though ... w..t..f ?

tac view not working with 1.2.8 ?
Maximus_Lazarus replied to Maximus_Lazarus's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Could you be a little more specific ? If i copy this file named "scripts" to this crap beta (wtf is up with the spinning out of control  ) , it asks me if i really want to replace 611 files -
Man you guys come in slow I'm somewhere between 250 and 200 :music_whistling: Better come in straight though, it's full out drifting and explosions if try to correct once touch down

Maddog some 120's in his general direction right after you lost him :)
-
We are talking about losing a target that you are already tracking right ? So, you know what direction he's going, you know how far he is, and you you are (usually) looking at the hud and the little square . That is what this topic is about i think . He's losing his target because they go outside elevation range or whatever you call it. So then you just use 3 or 4 quickly, your radar beam will just scan at the point you are looking at (and that is where he is) , so usually he gets picked up again , right ? When using 3 i just roll 90 degrees and scan where he should be going, (if he's going sideways from me), and 4 if he's still coming at me. Unless you are talking about when you are defending and he's outside your hud , but i don't think that was the topic So, 1vs1 me faigt ! (just kidding :D )
-
Most of the time you "kind of" have visual contact, as you're looking at the radar box on the hud. So, when he suddenly disappears and you're close, i personally just immidately switch to 3 or 4 , because he couldn't have gotten really far in those 1.5 seconds. If i have absolutelyh NO idea where he is, i just run like hell if i can't find him with STT mode within 5 seconds.

I can't record those flights :-(

Flying super high, a usefull tactic ?
Maximus_Lazarus replied to Maximus_Lazarus's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
What's defending missiles "on the rail" ? Is that when a missile is being guided by the aircraft's radar ? -
Flying super high, a usefull tactic ?
Maximus_Lazarus replied to Maximus_Lazarus's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Yeah the way down feels very dangerous , everytime i get that feeling that i'm gonna die within seconds The window of opportunity is very small, unless you point your nose at him the enemy is off radar rather quickly Meh i guess i'll go high every now and then anyway, it's also good radar practice. -

Maximus_Lazarus replied to Maximus_Lazarus's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
I just tried it, worked very well i don't think he ever had a clue he was going to die Track : http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/518442/high-alt-attack-acmi.html I was at 42.000 , he never made an attempt to go defend, in fact, i didn;t even had to come out of orbit like i did after firing but i did just in case (you do lose lock very quickly if he passes too much under you). Never locked me, i don't think he knew i was there. Of course even after hitting him THREE times i did NOT get awarded for the kill (i shot extra cause i thought he would EXIT before being destoryed) edit* He DID use countermeasures seconds before impact , too late though no chance Also, wouldn't it be an advantage overall to be higher up than your opponent ? -
Yes you should adjust your radar elevation
-
Pro's : + Increased missile range (thin air) + Enemy usually does not scan at 60.000 altitude + Very late (if at all) missile warning for enemy due to max angle of Radar Warning System (it does not detect missiles coming in from straight above them) + Your radar may not show up on enemy Radar Warning System due to same thing ^ (??) + Mountain dwelling trolls will have nowhere to hide Negs : - Fuel consumption - If caught you're screwed cause low speed and nowhere to run - Very small radar window (have to continually adjust radar cause of steep search angle) Does this sound about right ? I used to do this in the past sometimes, and it is kind of awesome when it works

Please look at tacview file, i have questions
Maximus_Lazarus replied to Maximus_Lazarus's topic in Multiplayer
probably haxxor , after all it was russian server But also in all fairness, like i said before, i should have been dead a long time before i even got to fire my missiles. That first ER missile should have gotten me to i don't think he lost lock . Well, this morning i had a blast on the 51st server. Downed 2 su's , a KA-50  , and what appears to have been a "huey bell" shooting R27ET missiles ?! And then other SU 27 on my way back to base . I feel kind of bad though, my wingman in the other F15 seemed to attract all enemy fire while missiles just passed me without paying attention to me :( But best of all, 3 on teamspeak and that's a lot more fun -
aw that's a shame. Seems kind of unrealistic to though doesn't it ?
