+1 Get well soon Cobra...................
-
Well, I've got 97.4GB free on my DCS SSD so I hope that will be enough!
-
Sabre Jet got released on a Saturday morning too if I remember correctly, although the DCS World update to support the module launch happened on the Friday. Anyway, I think NTTR and 2.0 will drop on Monday now.
-
48 yrs young here.........NTTR will knock 20 yrs off that I'm sure :D Heck, you're only young once right, thats what I keep telling the wife anyway.
-
I'm thinking this exact thing. However, I live in hope and keep mashing the F5 key........whats left of the damn thing :D
-
Brilliant news! I cant wait for NTTR also......this has been a very long time coming but it's almost here :D and it's gonna be awesome. Wonder what we will find at Groom Lake :music_whistling: .... :alien: .... :shocking: Great news about DCS WW2 too and boy that Spitfire sure looks great. Personally I'm fine with the price increase, where else are we going to find quality flight simulation like DCS, it's worth every penny to me anyways. It must have cost them a fortune to bring us 2.0 in development costs alone, and for a newbie they get two quality modules for free so they can get involved with no initial outlay. ED are a business at the end of the day, and to stay in business (and we ALL want that right!) they have to keep up with inflation etc. Well done ED :worthy:
-
Careful what you wish for!. The NTTR map is coming soon with Groom Lake and Area 51 on there so who knows what Leatherneck has hidden in Hangar 18 :smilewink:
-
Great update guy's  I used my last activation in the last update a few weeks ago so was a bit apprehensive about deactivating the MiG, but followed the instructions then re-activated. My acitvations are now 13 remaining :D nice work gents and thanks for the extra activations on my key. Noticed much better fps too with this update, pegged at a solid 60 and smooth. Now all I need is the NTTR map to wring her out on :joystick: Love Rudel's added detail to the aircraft and all those extra skins.........she sure is a beautiful module and a credit to LNS.
-
Once DCS 2.0 and the NTTR map are released (next week?) all will be revealed.... LN will no longer be able to hide the contents of their Hangar 18 at Groom Lake.......their secrets will be out!! :D :joystick:

Agree.......a password on the server is a great idea, and a good solution for the short term at least. What about a simple application process together with a list of rules and conditions the end user has to agree to before the server password is issued to that person. Contact details, say an email where the password can be sent to the person so there is some traceability there, or via PM here on the forum. A rule to forbid anyone forwarding the password to a third person so the admin has control over who gets on the server and who does not. Anyone wanting to play by the rules of the server owners wouldn't have an issue with this I'm sure. Hopefully ED will implement some way to allow aerobatic servers to be better and easier organised. They came up with a great idea for the L-39 back seat issue, and fairly quickly too. Surely they could put something in the mission planner to disable all weapons in a mission for guy's like VA or other aerobatic servers to use.
-
Same old story......the minority spoiling it for the majority. Hope you guy's find a solution to this thing soon. VA is an institution and it would be sad to see it go :( Is there any way within 1.5 to trace who the perpetrators were, a server log maybe? then ban them permanently.

Second edition
-
Steve Davies! on here!! wow!!! :worthy: Thanks for the info and sharing your photo's there. Awesome stuff, and you guy's are selling the NTTR Pre-Purchase for $39.99! it's gotta be worth more than that surely (already pre-ordered the first day!:D ). I just missed out on a Red Flag while I was in the RAF (ground crew), the Squadron I was on were due to take part and I got posted!! :( always regretted that, Nellis was the best detachment going at the time. Looking forward to going in a virtual world  PS.......Steve, your Red Eagles book is simply awesome, I must have read it 4 times now!!
-
Great update ED, most of the big issues I had before are fixed. Rock steady 60 fps now, smooth flight, annoying tree shadow bug gone, love the back seat permission for the L-39C....great idea, stutters with the MiG-21 gone and seems stable on multiplayer so far. All in all a great update, cheers guy's
-
Smooth as silk here too, thanks LN, great update. I've got my MiG back again :D
-
Nice. Great idea guys, well done to all that took part. Looking forward to watching the video.

52 years service in the RAF between 3 of us, my father, my elder brother and myself. My dads brother and his sisters son also served in the air force and my great grandad was killed in France in WWI so i guess i have a military family and Im very proud of them all. This is an important day to me, as it is for many of us with loved ones who have, or are still serving their country. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. God bless them all.........
-
go into "options" then "gameplay" and un check the box, that should do it. The MiG-21 mirrors cant be turned on/off in game via the M key as far as I know.
-
Agree.....this is a must read for anyone remotely interested in the NTTR not to mention the MiG. I couldnt put it down when I was reading it. Highly recommended. Back on topic, great read thanks Wags. Looking forward to the NTTR release with a bucket of excitement!. :D :joystick: PS happy birthday Wags :D
-
Same here...... I get 50 fps all the while, but as soon as I turn the battery switch on the stuttering starts but no drop in fps. Turn it off again and the stutter disappears.
-
Thanks Cobra......I've just used my last activation on the 1.5.1 update, but I'll wait till I need another before emailing you for a replacement key. I did get a message saying that I would automatically get another activation in 30 days, but here's hoping we wont have to wait that long till the next update!!
-
Awesome work on the L-39C guy's, she sure is a lovely bird to fly now  and getting better all the time. Shame my MiG-21 is broke though, last activation used up now
-
I have also had this exact type of crash too. I didnt report it as it is intermittent and i put it down to my internet connection. I had to ctrl alt del and shut DCS down from the task manager, only way to get it back to desktop. I was in MP everytime it happened but different servers, mostly aerobatic ones so no weapons involved. Most of the time DCS runs fine. My specs are in my sig.
-
I love multiplayer and DCS is great fun in MP. Even more so now were starting to get the two seat aircraft. So improved multiplayer got my vote.
-
Guy's, anyone seen Cobra's new avtar? I've just noticed it so if I'm a little late here forgive me but................ When I saw it this is what popped into my mind. It's four Phillips screw heads right, Phillips is pronounced Fillips right, Four screw heads right? my prediction.......next aircraft is the F-4 Phantom. Looks like the OP's dream may well come true.... :D
