  1. Mine arrived yesterday along with the Counter Balance Kit I ordered at the same time. I have to agree the materials and switches arn't as good as I was expecting. I already have their VPC Hawk-60 grip which is great and of very high quality, still plastic but just feels different to the 64 grip.....better quality. I can only think Virpil wanted to keep the weight of the grip down as it's really really long when fitted to the collective base. It's a good 2 ft in length from the pivot point on the base to the end of the grip. The Counter Balance Kit is very well designed as others have said and well worth the money, even if you are not getting the 64 grip it's still worth having. I had made a counter balance arm that was attached to my collective base and it worked great, it just stuck out the back of the rig about 14 inches with a weight bolted to it. The Virpil counterbalance keeps everything together so no more arm to bump into when I walk past the rig!. I'm still in the process of making a metal mounting bracket to bolt onto the rig as I've had to move the base way back from it's origional position due to the length of the combined 64 grip and the TCS Rotor Plus base, so I haven't used the grip in anger so to speak yet, but I certainly have no plans to return it!
  2. I placed the order on 20th October last year and it arrived yesterday along with the Counter balance kit I ordered at the same time. It's ser No. 426 if that helps anyone still waiting....
  3. Not to add more ingredients to the pot but.... I have been having all the same issues with the F16 as Buzz313th. I came from the Hornet and the Viper is a whole new beast!! and new systems logic to learn. I have also been having this exact same issue, I recall seeing it in one of Wag's videos that you have to drop back one steerpoint then go back into 21 to enter it in the system and I was getting the same results as mentioned above, ie nothing was showing. So can anyone confirm that you have to cycle back to an active steerpoint that's in the current flightplan, say steerpoint 3, to get it to accept what has just been entered in steerpoint 21 and not just the previous unused steerpoint 20 which will probably have nothing in it unless you have a huge flightplan loaded?. I would have thought the more streamlined the system is in a fast jet like the Viper, therefore the less workload on the pilot, the better it is. I can't imagine a Viper pilot out on a CAS shout with troops in trouble on the ground needing help quick, and the pilot feverishly going through multiple button presses to get the JTAC co ords into the system to get his TGP onto the bad guy's quickly, at night, and having to cope with a system that is at best clunky. EDIT Ok I just tried something on the AO server (no weapons). I picked a point on the F10 map and took the MRGS co ords, height etc. I entered the details into Steerpoint 21 whilst in Nav mode (also did a similar example whilst in A/G mode with same result). I created the steerpoint and got the symbology on the HUD and HMCS and the TGP slewed to the area after selecting steerpoint 20 then 21. I started heading over there and I could slew the TGP around whilst in NAV mode but lets say this was a CAS call out and there was several targets at this location. I could slew the TGP around the area and if I went CZ it would go back to the co ords entered for steerpoint 21. But if I wanted to drop a weapon on there and I go to A/G mode the TGP freezes and I can't slew it around at all in either Area, Point Track or INR. Is this because I have no weapons on board or does the logic say I have to keep swapping from A/G mode to NAV mode everytime I want to slew the TGP to a different tgt because it won't slew in A/G mode? Hope I'm not hijacking thread here but I think all this has something in common going on here.
  4. On the in game settings screen if I enable DLSS the game seems to auto select DLAA, if I turn off DLSS I can still select DLAA on it's own. What I'm finding confusing now is as mentioned above you can't run both DLSS and DLAA at the same time? the game seems to select this automatically in my case. Totally confused now! lol.
  5. Same here. I have an i7-12700K and Asus ROG 3090. Shows CPU bound on the DCS FPS window. I guess it's caused by one core at 100%.
  6. @BIGNEWY will the Normandy 2 map include the Amiens prison target from the Channel map?
  7. Where can I find the Field of View slider? I had a look but failed to find this option!.
  8. See Raptor's reply here Quote "This has not occurred. From my understanding, the last 2.7 patch in September was the only instance when the flight model was updated and not in the changelog. I do remember making a comment in a separate thread in Bugs & Problems that sometimes things are missed in the changelog, but that it isn't intentional; not a deliberate effort to conceal changes. Further, no flight model changes were made in last week's patch to 2.8, so I think there may be some placibo effect going on. Or maybe you all are just that good."
  9. In 2.7 the engine feathering worked like a charm. Today I just tried to feather the engine, both sides one at a time and noticed the same behaviour on both. I close the throttle, bring the rpm control lever all the way back on the engine to be feathered. Press the feathering button just long enough for it to stay in, and release. The prop begins to feather, the button springs out then the prop returns to the un-feathered position as soon as it's feathered, and the engine continues to windmill. This happens regardless of magneto switch position (off/on), on both engines. Basically, you can't feather the engines now.
  10. I was looking forward to 2.8 but sadly, I have to agree with you here YoYo 100%. I was on the AO server earlier and the cloud shadows were coming on and going off in an instant like turning a light on/off in a room. Immersion killer to say the least! Prop animations seem off especially in my beloved Mossie, and I can see shadows on the ground underneath the aircraft when looking out the side of the cockpit fuselage! in VR. My GPU temps are also up 10deg from 2.7 on the same settings. Like you, find it hard to believe that this patch was tested in VR prior to release. I would definitely expect some bugs to slip through the internal testing process on open beta releases, but not this many and not this big.
  11. In 2.7 the prop animations introduced in April 2021 looked great, specifically the Mosquito in VR it looked stunning. Since 2.8 released last week the prop animations look broken in VR. I have an Oculus S and use OTT to turn off ASW as this has a terrible effect on turning props giving a tearing strobe effect that looks bad and hurts the eyes. Now in 2.8 I get a similar effect as if ASW was turned on all the time! I did turn it on briefly just to check if it did make a difference, but as expected it was much worse. This issue unfortunately seems worse in my beloved Mosquito than some of the other single engine warbirds, especially at lower rpm settings. It just looks horrible, and I can't look at the props for too long without my eyes protesting. I was on the Aerobatics Online server yesterday and another user who was also in VR commented on the same issue when looking at my aircraft on the F2/F3 views. This issue on top of the broken shadows is a bit of a blow for 2.8 but that's why we have an open beta to test and find this stuff. Anyone else seeing a similar issue? I've also posted this over on the 2.8 Object Bugs forum so hopefully someone see's it and gets the issue raised with the dev's. I hope for a fix for this soon...

  13. Quick update to this fellas. Nineline has kindly answered my query over on the ED discord and has read through Bozon's post and forwarded on all the info to the ED team.
  14. This is a great post Bozon, really interesting stuff. I hope you don't mind but I've quoted this thread and in particular your post over on the DCS Discord and aimed it at Nineline. Hopefully he will read it and pass it on to the ED WW2 team so they can cast an eye over the data. Maybe we will get a result, or at least some clarification.
  15. Still loving the Mossie but it's been a while since I've heard any updates on the remaining features left on the to do list before the old girl leaves EA, so I thought I'd post a new thread and see if we can get an official update on how things are going. In the newsletters early last year before the Mosquito released it said there would be :- The historical accurate navigation system for WWII aircraft (is this the DF feature on the radio?) Controllable AI navigator and radio operator Any word on how these features are coming along or even if they are still planned? Also is it still planned to have a flare pistol in the cockpit roof which I believe was also planned, and an operational escape hatch also on the cockpit roof? Great to see she is still getting regular additions and bug fixes slotted into recent updates, but a quick update on the remaining items would be appreciated.
  16. I have the exact same issue after todays hotfix but only on certain missions. The repeatable one is Instant Action > Syria > Cold Start. This mission was working fine before today's hotfix. I can't upload a track file here as it's just over the 5MB limit. If I create a quick mission with no assets the engines start ok and issue is not present. Eng-Issue.trk
  17. Adding my thanks here to the SME team on this module too. They are not only a wealth of information and a walking encyclopaedia on the Apache but also a great bunch of guy's and very approachable. A big thank you to all the folks on the SME team, both for your service IRL and your service to the community here....THANKS GUY'S.
  18. As the title say's it would be great to be able to utilise a 3 position switch, for example the LASTE switch on the Warthog throttle, to bind the NVS Mode 3 position switch OFF, NORM and FIXED positions to. Probably possible now by messing with .lua files but it would be much better if it was a standard thing included with the vanilla bindings for the Apache.

@DD_FenrirNow this sounds promising. Looking forward to updates as and when, keep us posted.
  20. I managed to get this working great, what I did was assign the wheel brake axis to one of my pedals, then went into axis tune and turned the slider option on and set the y-saturation to 40 and invert the pedal so it's off when the pedal is not depressed. It works great. I get 40lbs on the brake gauge with maximum pedal depression. Gone are the days of going from 0% to 100% brake instantly and vigorously tapping the lever on my stick to get the brakes to work. Going back to Bozon's (OP) question above, I haven't noticed anything unusual in the handling post update. Found a few fixes implemented that weren't on the changelog but otherwise no handling/taxi issues my end. She handled just great tonight on a MP server. Those rockets are great!!!.
  21. Wednesday 22nd December is my guess.
  22. I don't have a fancy headset or a 3090, Oculus S and a 1080Ti here, but the VR cockpit in the Mossie is just stunning. It feels cramped and I find looking at stuff in it like the fuel gauges or using the gunsight, you just do what you would do in the real aircraft....lean over a bit, duck down or turn around in your seat. It feels great and looks amazing, the best VR cockpit of all the warbirds by far and the most immersive in my opinion. If I had to rate it, I'd give it a clear 10/10.
  23. + 100 on this comment. The new sounds are fantastic, along with all the other little additions I've found on top of the listed change log stuff the Mosquito is really coming along nicely. She's now topped the Spitfire for my all time favorite.
  24. Glad you nailed it Basco. I also find with just slightly less than 2 ticks down elevator trim and no flaps, if I don't touch the stick at all the tail comes up when she's ready to fly then slight back pressure on the stick and airborne. Wheels up and trim to keep level and let the speed build, taking out the rudder trim as speed increases to keep the slip gauge right in the middle.
