I just set up a mission by myself. Pretty much just a free flight with an A-10A, taking off from Nellis, touring the area, and landing at McCarran. I've currently got a map template with all available modules parked at Nellis, I'll post it online a little bit later when I get home from work. :-)

Guys - products cost money. It's pretty straightforward. If you have a problem with it, don't buy it. You don't HAVE to own or install every module unless you want to specifically learn how to fly that module. The $50 is much cheaper than flight lessons, sourcing and renting or buying the actual aircraft. It can't seriously surprise you if you've been playing games for any length of time over the past several years especially - with the rise of tons of DLC for every AAA title out now. Which, by the way, never goes on sale. Except more often than not, foregoing the purchase of that DLC breaks the compatibility for multiplayer with people who do own the DLCs. Here you're meant to pick and choose what you want to fly - if you want everything, you're going to have to suck it up. If you want to wait for the sales to buy everything, you're going to have to expect to pay that extra 10% now. But if you're really that strung out over what amounts to $5 per module, maybe you should rethink your budget. :-)

Have you tried opening up DCS Singleplayer? Does it still crash when reactivating modules? -

Steam Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Steam Specific Issues
Psyrixx replied to ShaZe88's topic in Steam Support
There is no way to transfer ED products from standalone to Steam. Steam will not allow it. That being said, you can always add the standalone executable as a non-Steam game... and Steam will treat it like a Valve hosted product. It is very likely you will need to install standalone anyways in order to access your free NTTR map, but this is speculation on my part due to the fact that Steam no longer accepts product keys to import Eagle Dynamics products. -

Psyrixx replied to ShaZe88's topic in Steam Support
Just for the record, this is incorrect. You cannot use modules purchased through the ED store on Steam, as Steam does not allow you to import your license keys anymore. This is on Steam's end, not Eagle Dynamics. You can, however, go from Steam to Standalone quite easily by binding the Steam license keys to your Eagle Dynamics website account. Please do not buy the NTTR Map on the Eagle Dynamics store and try to import it into Steam - this will never work. The better route is to download the open beta from the Eagle Dynamics website (it's free, so there is literally no downside to downloading it to try importing your Steam modules into it - also you have release version already through Steam) and after you get everything working standalone simply pre-purchase NTTR from the store. By sometime on or around the end of September, v1.5 will auto-update into the Beta version that you got working standalone and you'll get to experience the new engine. Sometime in November the NTTR will be released, the Beta version will update to v2.0, and you will get to experience everything. Then, you can delete the Steam version and add the Beta (standalone) version as a non-Steam game. Once v1.5/2.0 hit, it should be a single executable and Steam will accurately track when you're playing DCS World. :pilotfly::joystick: -

Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
Psyrixx replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I think the context is NPC aircraft. IE civilian air traffic that you could build into missions, since the models are done. Not sure whether this will be implemented, but it would be neat for escort missions and/or possibly a hostage rescue scenario. -
GTX970 is two generations newer than the GTX780, so I think he'll be fine. :P

You paid for the A-10C. That's what you got. The NTTR map was an extra bonus, offered for people willing to early adopt the A-10C beta. There is no loan or interest. You received what you paid for. The bonus item took longer than originally estimated to deliver. 20% off a full-price map is still paying more than 100% off as a pre-order bonus. -
Have been running Win10 since they started the preview program and haven't had any issues at all with DCS.

Q: Any intention to include the Luxor's incredibly bright light? At night, you can see it shining high into the air. Would be a neat reference point to use during night time missions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxor_Las_Vegas#Luxor_Sky_Beam

Matt will give us a DCS World 2 Live Stream
Psyrixx replied to uboats's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
This is not entirely true. Twitch by default does NOT save live streams. You have to enable it in your profile settings under Channel & Videos > Channel Settings > Automatically Archive my Broadcasts. Furthermore, it only archives the stream for a period of 14 days unless you save a highlight from the stream (though you can save the entire broadcast as a highlight to save the entire broadcast indefinitely). There used to be "Export to YouTube" functionality on stream highlights but they disabled it for a while, not sure if it has been re-enabled yet. Yep, just checked, and Export to YouTube functionality has been restored. Once the highlight is saved you can click on a cog on the highlight page to Export, and it will link your YouTube account and upload it for you. -

From what I recall, it was part of the DCS WWII propaganda. They said they could take maps and then increase the size by stitching two maps together, and could theoretically make a map as large as hard drive space allowed. One of the videos with Luthier in it.

I am very excited. =)
