Number of modules: 4 + some maps and supercarrier. F/A-18, F-16C, Viggen, C-101 (Plus Su-25, 27, and 33, but those are not full fidelity) Proficiency: F/A-18: 7 (My first FF module, I know how to operate it and all its weapons systems in combat pretty well, but it has A LOT of systems and still have to learn many things) F-16C: 7/8 (Same as the Hornet, this past year I flew it a lot, so I believe I know the plane a bit better than the F/A-18 just because I forgot things about it) Viggen: 7 (I fly it less because its more task limited, but I enjoy the hell out of it when I´m doing it) C-101: 8 (My newest module and the one I have less hours in, love it, all systems are modelled, but as it lacks modern avionics, its easy to learn and master, you have to know how to fly with this aircraft, not operating a computer like the others). With the trial periods I have flow almost all of them, and with many I learnt quite a bit, but I don´t count them for this.

12.01.2024 - Vulkan Progress | DCS Core | DCS Modules
AKULA_OPTIMUS replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
Worst idea ever? Anyway, lots of things in this newsletter, and some very anticipated topics, its good to know that a lot of important thigs are bein worked on. -
Being that the case, I could never understand how content creators like Growling Sidewinder can replicate tracks so accurately on their videos, even cannon shots
-
Regarding the aircraft itself, is far better, now it does not crash into the ground by itself after take off. The weapons still the same, they do whatever they want, and the things they do are different each time you play the track.
-
For sure there are tweaks in lighting, color, contrast and many of those things to make it have a more cinematic look. But for me, the thing that makes it more realistic and different from the actual gameplay, are the camera movements. None of those are present in the game, specially the smooth shaking effects and the ilusion that the camera is operated by a human, in my opinion that has even more influence in how different it looks from the game than the graphical settings. I wish DCS had something like that, its not that hard to make.

The video itself is outstanding, and the Fulcrum news are very welcome. Missing any news on the weather system tho, they showed new clouds two years ago (!!!), and nothing happened with them since New maps are always good but not very interested, as they are more of the same biome like Sinai, Persian gulf and Syria... wich would be awesome as contiguous terrain, but if you can only play in one at the time, not so much, as having one or two is enough. Keep the good work and happy new year to everyone -
Well, definetly the affinity thing worked for me, or at least, it improved the situation. What I did is to once you spawn in a plane, alt+tab to go to the windows task manager, turn off the cpu affinity of the last cpu core (I have 4), wait a couple of seconds, and turn the affinity of all cores on again. Then go back to DCS. Here I show the graphs so you can see, hoping someone find it useful somehow.
-
Didn´t solve the problem entirely, but it definetly helped, thank you!!!!
-
Sadly this doesn´t work for me, once I spawn, and go to the task manager to switch CPU affinity to just one core. But if i get back to the game it becomes veeeery slow, and if I go back to the task manager again, and activate all cores, the game crash. I just dont know what to do, cant play DCS properly since 2.9
-
Are you sure about that? Considering like, 80%? of the player base doesn´t even know the forums exist, and of the ones who do, only a few write on them, and still is flooded with 2.9 stutering issues, the problem must be pretty massive
-
I had the same problem for months, some missions (only on the Syria map) never load, but a user from the forum gave me a solution that ALWAYS works, and its to first start the mission as a multiplayer server, it will load, then, you exit the mission (or continue it as a server), and then load the mission again normally. Give it a try
-
As long as you are not disrespectful, they are not that bad. And I am almost constantly criticising But the 2.9 problems are pretty serious. I mean, the forum is flooded with stuttering issues since 2.9 came out, and forums are used by... what? just 5- 10% of the game players? And of those, only a few post on here, so the problem must be massive among DCS players out there, and still they decided to upgrade the stable version to beta without any solution or fix. Hard to understand. MT was one of the best things that happen to the sim, and now all of those advantages are gone. And that sucks. Hope the find a fix soon, but I don´t know...
-
Go to the TGP, put it on snowplow Mode, and it goes away.
-
The problem is back, i.e. constant stuttering.

In the main menu, on the bottom right corner, you can see your version of the game, if you are om MT it will say multi thread -
MT is one of the best things happening to this sim in recent years indeed.

Loading Cockpit Textures and Liveries takes awfully long
AKULA_OPTIMUS replied to Jel's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Not in my case, in fact in the Syria map for example, it gets worse and it generates weird texture stuff. -
That´s not the question, of course they are still active, no one is denying that, but that work is taking a lot of time precisely because the resources allocated in those projects, are way less each time. And thats what I´m trying to say, it does not matter if one project is finished or not in order to start a new one, because is what ED does constatly and the reason why almost everything seems like an eternal early acess.
-
? That´s what I´m saying, they are constantly allocating resources elsewhere, when products with years in the market are still not finished. It does no matter what the plane is. And there will never be a F-18D, lets be honest
-
"Why no F-18D? WAGS, says resources are elsewhere and now is not the right time to start the "D" when the "C" isn't finished" ?? Products are still unfinised and yet they are constatly starting new ones
-
Oh yes, I´ve been here since Lomac days, patience is something I had to learn, sometimes is hard, but I´m trying my best Hope this new thing worths it. Thank you for the info.
-
Yes, and thats their problem. Do they also tease those improvements for years, and then release them with a lower quality expecting no one will notice, to later say the good product will be a paid one? I´m not complaining about the product itself, but the way it was managed, you didn´t even tell us until people started to suspect something was wrong.
-
Those are some shady practises right there
-
Problem still there, I guess they are busy with the phantom right now
-
Every single new 3D model added in 2.9 is considerably less detailed that the models they advertised, wonder why
