  1. The H145M or Tiger would be a real treat for me.
  2. pre purchased the most relevant map in DCS, the most relevant area in the real world as far as current conflicts go...... it is probably the most relevant map to how most people fly DCS and against an enemy they would most like to fly against. This is the area that puts DCS maps on the map.
  3. I also bet that map will run FPS like a bugger!
  4. Yup. Generally once the anti ice warning is announced, I go manual and switch it all on...... including and often forgot Pitot tubes on the right co pilot panel (I had a real nightmare with these once). Ease off the max velocity and concentrate on height clearance and well being.
  5. For me and I think for most users it is just trimming the aircraft constantly using the cyclic trim. Personally I never use the Autopilot trim as this tends to trim out the helicopter without the real pilot (you and me) knowing what has changed. The auto pilot trim would probably be great with a free and fluid conversation between pilot and engineer...... but alas this a long way off. But the cyclic trim I "KlaK" with every minor adjust and hold of the cyclic.... that trim button must be the most serviced and replaced button on the entire MI-8!
  6. They must be developing the Apache and screwed up the update! This is a sign! A righteous sign that our deliverance is near! The NVG image ain't weirdly offset towards the nose is it?
  7. Lovely list of fixes in the Beta, gaging for the 2.5 solid release! I liked the old glass effects by the way. Gotta have nasty sun reflections on the glassware..... anything else ain't DCS!
  8. What is your load, FAT and what is your altitude (barometric). An engine spooling down is odd but I have had this in the Kamov in an attack hover hot (40 degs) and high with a massive load of pain. The engine ran hot and spooled down until I got moving again and cooled the engines. Any problems taking off? Running take off or hover?
  9. Too hard or too fast on the collective in a climb or too hard in turn turn (collective and cyclic). A gen failure is fine in an aggressive manoeuvre but as mentioned before, some of your favourite APs have switched off. The pitch AP is the only one I sweat about, the others are for long relaxing flights.
  10. So the discussion is clear on my side of the fence. We simply do not need a sky full of yank air superiority without the Russian PFM air superiority aircraft and that is that! If we cannot release a Russian PFM jet fighter then the AH-64A or AH-64D is now the priority. This will introduce a western attack chopper into the low level combat arena and allow for a much needed balance into DCS world chopper combat! Giving the KA-50 an RWR would ease the massive advancement the west would gain from the AH-64A (ALONE forget the D) . Then a Russian PFM jet fighter.
  11. You are too heavy? when you are heavy you need to get past transitional lift whilst on the ground, you need to skid those skids along the runway until you pass 40 - 50 knots then gently pull back on the stick but maintain.... if not allowing an increase in forward velocity whilst you climb. Skids are sexy, but wheels are just worth their weight in gold! Every one wants the awesome kit the Huey can carry, but in real life there is a trade off. Skill will get that kit off the ground and as a pilot you will be very happy when you use up all that ammo.
  12. Extending the Strait of Hormuz is the only natural way to go. Go north and you will find what you seek. With Recent History and right up to Today, these areas are very much disputed and the disputes will get worse in the next 10 years. This area is sooo relevant! These maps offer the best balance for our home computers ability to render clutter whilst offering a very diverse weapon opposition variety. Only here can we offer the joy us western and eastern combat pilots will love! At some point we must break the our reliance on the old ways...... we spent many years playing the Caucuses and this simply breeds weakness...... we must break our predictable trend. We have a huge..... no massive amounts of missions in both online and offline use in the caucuses map! however for the chopper pilot the caucuses is a hilarious joke that is almost unbearable!..... it is basically an arcade map that you can fly through trees and lamp posts..... do you flight guys not get this?.? Does the jet/plane community not understand this fundamental point? Nevada is god to the Chopper pilot! If the community lacks the ability to adapt to any new combat environments then they must be forced! Only in force will they know how to adapt and overcome! Only the dynamic campaign will do, It is my belief that this community, whilst they may exhibit great prowess in a fixed environment, I believe they will be meat for the grinder in the true war environment that the dynamic campaign offers. The dynamic campaign online will be a horrifying fluid dynamic excuse for violence that will have no peers.
  13. I reckon from the jet view point a full PFM Russian jet fighter is now critical. For choppers it is the opposite, an American (allies?... tiger?) PFM chopper was critical 5 years ago and is now well past the red line boiling over point!
  14. Yeah, DCS is just superb!
  15. I never have problems with slowing down with choppers anymore, the exit from transitional lift is visually seen but the drop into VRS is not. If you are well into choppers in DCS and you see a solid future that will keep you playing, then I cannot recommend the vibrating jet seat enough. As you exit transitional lift, then the jet seat instantly vibrates your butt and spine just like the visual cue you see, a slow bumping frequency. This is not VRS. Once you clear transition and continue to slow, a fast frequency vibration slowly grows through the jet seat and no visual cue is seen. The fast frequency vibration grows in amplitude as you drop....... this is VRS. The jet seat simply moves you into a different league of feedback and reduces the need for your brain's requirement to concentrate on something that is now fundamental. I think when I pulled the harrier through a tight right turn and the jetseat starting vibrating on the right side as right wing stalled.... then I started to think..... yeah this is great. As I pulled the corner harder the jetseat vibration spread from right to left and she was moving into the stall and loosing velocity quickly. I eased the joystick forward and the left vibrating wing slowly disappeared and the right stalling wing remained....the curve was cleaner and the speed maintained. Once you use the awesome design of your body correctly, you will start to understand how easy it is to get completely absorbed into this game!
  16. HMS sight in VR adjustment. You are so lucky cdromer, I would love to have the pain you are feeling. As Holton181 says should sort it out.
  17. There is a fix coming, but be sure that the Huey is a "cheap" single engine airframe with the cheapest rotor hub available that fulfilled the militaries need for a troop air lift quickly..... there is no comparison between the Lynx and Huey! The Huey allowed for massive growth of air cav quickly and cheaply and it did so at the right time and at the right price. Its design was pure genius. It is heavily flawed for a military machine nowadays but put in a good and useful long service life.
  18. Basically the manual/auto mode is a tool that should be used in both modes. the Auto mode has really saved me from wasting missiles in a 6 - 7 km range due to a high work load environment. the Auto mode is my bestest friend! At excessive long range or at point blank HMS Kannon walking fire the manual mode is my bestest friend
  19. I do agree, Track IR is just the mutts nuts until I go VR. The zoom function in my home pit is analogue and works just as hard as my stick, throttle and pedals. I believe I have found a compromise that suits me extremely well.
  20. + 1,038,423.34
  21. Me too snoopy. This new Map offers great expansion potential and if the surrounding countries are eventually modelled it will be utterly superb!
  22. Finally! 1.5 got updated to 2.5 and I got all the gazelle updates. The gazelle is much more responsive and easier to control down low in amongst the Nevada buildings. Overall a superb update.
  23. For me when you sit closer to the instruments you will loose an overview of your situational awareness. The wider your field of view the better you will manage your hover/approach in tight confined situations. Try driving your car through a letter box. For me the wider the view the more I understand my surroundings. The zoom function should be analogue, regularly used and as close to your fingers (Hotas) as possible.... This will also serve you very well in the hunter killer mode!
  24. I do not see the Apache in that list and I truly cannot understand why not... must be because they want it to be a surprise. Surely Ed is not just concentrating on maps and little girl planes from here on in are they?
