  1. I'd pay for that lesson gladly.
  2. Check here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96116 for a more in depth look at View's be warned though read every post before you ask PeterP something he has already covered he gets quite annoyed having to keep repeating himself and he will tell you off.
  3. Nice one Sundowner I thought I was on the right track. Having good hand eye and foot coordination helps to its just muscle memory and practice.
  4. This may sound stupid but I use to have one of those and the more I hear the woes of those using this stick with that twitchy cable surely it would be better to open it up and hard wire it or solder it up so it stats connected just a thought.
  5. The bottom vid is just pin point accuracy by that pilot. Maybe their controls are better than ours, or more than likely they have been doing it for years and we have only been at it a few weeks. Also the other crucial thing we are all missing in this is one of our senses is missing or not in use. The sense of feeling is just not there in the virtual world. I'm ignoring the instruments now and going for the direct visual approach just restricting my vision of instruments to the top portion of the Altimeter, that way I think I can train my brain to visually feel the approach.
  6. Ha Ha quality gotta keep am eye on the tortoise at all times, I think they are aliens and when you ain't looking they retract their landing gear head and tail and use their trans warp drive hoover mode to get about :D
  7. This is weird if I do the above to mine then my brakes are on the minute I lower the landing gear and as soon as a wheel touches the black stuff its all over. If I leave mine default reverse the axis make it slider add 5 DZ and all is good no lock ups smooth controlled braking which I only really use to control taxi speed the speed brake does a good enough job slowing the aircraft before exit.
  8. Try an RC model shop they used to do it for lubing up plastic cogs and gears.
  9. Were your hands cold making that video.
  10. Me to seems there's space for it in your spec I notice it says a really nice chair and here it is The Emperor. I can see the frown on the wife's face now as I say get out of my Emperors chair and get back to your subjects chair lol
  11. Me to I think its a drink holder could be used as an ash tray I suppose. Just think how easy a cockpit build would be using that as the basis for the start.
  12. I am finding the easiest way is to do the oil rig landings get rid of all the other distractions and just land it on that yellow circle. Attached are my first attempts at this or rather be honest since the current model, I did try doing this before the update but could never quite get close enough. This was only after 1 hour of practice with current model, before this I was almost there just teetering on the edge of successful landings 1 in 3 didn't end in the drink or a ball of flames on the deck. Jay landed on the rig.trk Jay landed on the rig2.trk
  13. Check this bad boy out anyone seen one or got one just stuck which one to buy...http://www.mwelab.com/index.php/en/
  14. I haven't done any of this with mine it occurred to me the spiking only happens when your feet are not on the peddles or rather the weight of feet. You will notice this if you open the control panel for the pedals from the ribbon you will see pedals displaying left and right toe half red bar simply applying the weight of your feet and the bars have gone. I think personally its a little to much tension in the build quality coupled with perhaps slightly off parts. All I did was change Axis to slider and invert plus 5 DZ.
  15. This would be so helpfull especially for new players with hardly any knowledge of lau files or how to edit them and what each line does like it Peter.
  16. Some cool builds going on here, so the collective wanna build one from scratch where do I start I have many old joysticks do they have any parts that I can utilise. X52pro AV8TOR And the TM with the detachable throttle body i'm thinking this one just because its detachable or the x52pro. Or am I just best to buy new components and build from there. I also have the TMWH stick and throttle which I have no desire to strip although a machinist friend of mine is making me a stick exstension.
  17. Why not just buy a couple of beanie hats that's what I did.
  18. Ditto done mine yesterday and its so much easier to fly the huey now I am no longer having to fight the spring tension and isn't that spring a big one looks like it comes from a car or lorry suspension. Lubed mine up to using some Dye slick lube its so much smoother to with that stuff instead of the stock lube from TM which is like chewing gum and oh so sticky.
  19. Peter I have to say you da man I wish all these lau files were written like yours, they make so much more sense to me. The only niggle I have now is the views in my left and right monitor I have the Samsung MD230x3 setup running on the Nvidia GTX690, so whilst keeping my head steady and just looking left and right with my eyes the image seems slightly stretched any clues Peter as to what I need to adjust or look into.
  20. Ok Peter I think I got it worked out now your view lau is much better than the dcs standard and seems far easier to navigate around for a newb like me.
  21. Sorry Peter I didn't see those big red letters lol until just before you posted so now I have done the same as before only with the download from your post number 98 is this the right one...
  22. Little help please PeterP I have been reading all the posts and digested as much as my pea size brain can handle lol. Please correct me if I am wrong but I downloaded you files from first post. You mention to copy files over to config view which I did but then I had 2 lots of view files is this correct or not, as I was unsure I then went back in to config view and deleted the original files and replaced them with yours is this correct. I think it must me as the view has changed I did have to invert axis for roll via the game options in controls as it appeared that when I rolled my head to the right the in game roll was to the left. Now I am trying to work out how to get more forward in my seat for the Huey or reduce the FOV a little I just can't find where UH1 is in your mod or am I just not looking in the right place.
  23. I got told by a real pilot that it was possible and only really ever done by a special breed of helo pilot with balls and nerves of steel. He went on to say there are alot of variables involved in what is a fairly simple manouver in an airoplane to getting it to work in a helo. And your multi tasking skills have to be on the ball. He said get it wrong or stay upside down to long then the blades will just fold in on themselves. He also said its best to practice this in a simulator as in the real world enviroment you could destroy the helo.
  24. Quality another great story BBall keep them coming i enjoy reading them in the morning before my first attempts at landing lol.
  25. I just done mine it was easy didn't break any wires and as its still in warranty thought i'd give it a go just incase i nerf it up its still covered sort of. Just pull GENTLY the cup which is over the ball socket thingy watch those wires make sure theres a little slack. You can get it up enough to just wipe around the inside using a largeish cotton bud that'll clearout the old grease to a degree. To grease it back up i used Dye slick lube from my paintball days this lube is good its not conductive and non corrosive to plastic also non exposive around highly compressed air not that theres any of that in the WH stick. The only reason i did this was because i was taking out the big spring as it seems since the introduction of Heuy i felt like i was constantly fighting the spring along with getting cramp trying hard to hold on to it. Now its like poetry in motion landings are even smoother than before.
