I have to say nice mod but in reference to the pilot would use coloured pens that would not work as the white marks are not white and colouring over them would render the photoluminecent paint useless meaning at night you have lost all visuals of your dials or atleast the parts you coloured in. Not to mention it would also be a gross breach of maintenance rules and should there be a crash the breach of the rules will land firmly back in the lap of whoever used the pens and signed off on it. That said this isn't RL and I like it.

Nothing wrong with it you need to click on the green box which is contained within the black rectangle all of the others will download garbage which you don't want, this is not Peters fault its the way that site works. Peter maybe worth pasting a picture here highlighting the correct box for those that are unsure just so you don't keep getting asked this sort of thing.

Yes I know what its called but come on if you're in that seat and it happens to you I don't care who you are or how many hours flying you have your heart has got to miss a beat or two and your belly is going to be full of butterflies.

The flying bike I could stow that in the Huey and then when its nerfed I could pull out the bike and fly it back to base for a new Huey lol check it out http://video.uk.msn.com/watch/video/amazing-flying-bicycle/1j4jxelj3

As the tittle check this video out http://video.uk.msn.com/watch/video/pilot-aborts-landing-after-runway-disappears/1j48uax4a That's gotta be scary I would crap myself in DCS if this happened and in the real world I would quite literally dump in my underwear.

Are you sure you're not just forgetting this is just a game all be it a SIM game which is designed to simulate as near to possible as the programing permits and limitations of the virtual world, the real thing. You just can not compare a game to real life its impossible its meant to be as close as they can get it to real life and I for one think they have done a darn fine job so far. Granted there Is some tweaking still to be done and other things to factored into the Huey but its just a game. You want reality then go and fly a real Huey or pay for a day in a super state of the art industry simulator the type real pilots have to learn in as even they are not entirely 100% real life.

VRS no problem with current model infact I never get into it I can pull this puppy into a hoover at any height and come down nice and steady into ground effect hover not once entering VRS. It is by all accounts so easy to stay out of VRS you just have to learn to balance the collective with your AS and decent rate. Like this, Drop collective gently not suddenly Pull back on stick 10 degrees nose up keep it there nice and steady a little pedal to maintain direction At this point eyes on AS when it hits 60knts its going to suddenly drop very quick So at 60knts pull up on the collective watching decent rate it will go up a little then down forget its going up and keep easing up the collective until you maintain a stable decent rate of 500 Nose should now be level in ADI check your position and keep checking decent rate maintain 500 and she will gently lower into ground effect hover and then nice and gently onto the deck perfect everytime If you don't believe me lets get together and you can follow me in.

Frank that is some serious build you got going on there top quality fella so when are you going to add the real engines wings and all the other stuff lol sorry but your build certainly deserves to have it all including the GAL.

Big Newy looking good fella loving your build just the sort of thing I want to attempt making a universal pit for all aircraft. Problem for me so far is SPACE is at a premium as I have to share my office space with the misses grrrr may be I should put her rent up and then she will move out into another office lol. Going to try to build mine as a pull out pit which pulls out from under my desk, as unfortunately I still have to use it for my work. Loving how you got those radios and what not from real aircraft to work I didn't even think that was possible nice for the real feel and nostalgia. About your collective that's where I want to start first, what type of pot did you use or did you find some way of getting the collective you purchased to work through a board of some kind as I am loving the huey at the moment and really want to get a collective on the go. Cheers Jay

Are you using any software to make these videos....

I have no problems with this now and think it should left how it is, it is by all accounts so easy once its clicked in your brain and landings now are right on the money troop deployments for me are milli seconds of time I just wish they could deploy from a low hover.

I can say PeterP has got this nailed in his mod his tutorial is very very good I was a bit dubious at first as I am very new to all this lau business but PeterP's mod has helped learn how and what goes where.

I noticed that to I also noticed that if you the pilot gets shot you jump seat position completely caught me off guard, should never have gone for that hot LZ. First the pilot then I jump seats to co pilot automatically not done by me so you can imagine my surprise as my finger is poised on the trigger in the pilots seat suddenly as if by magic my view is blocked by the flexi sight and my frantic punching of key 1 was cut short as I realised oh crap the pilot bought it I grabbed the collective pulled it up pulled back on the stick it was to late the co-pilot bought it now i'm in the gunners seat, save yourself everyone we're going down i'll try and cover you before I hit lol butt they wouldn't bail.
-
Instead of giving the door gunners AI which we all know ain't upto much at the moment. Why not get some auto hover function going on say at 300 ft + - 10 ft tolerance zone which we can activate, then we can jump into the gunners seat lets us have control of yaw give it a count down of say 60 seconds only permitted before you either have to land and deploy or pull out cause its to hot and relocate. I know we already have auto bank but with auto hover we could have some fun with the guns.

Kneebord Export for all DCS modules - I need your suggestions
jay43 replied to PeterP's topic in DCS Modding
Peter please don't give up I am eagerly awaiting the finish of another one of great mods I wish I could offer some help but I am at a loss when it comes to those lau files, well almost reading through some of yours which I already have and are using you put lovely green descriptions in explaining what this line does. Keep it up Peter have a break for a few days refresh and come back like a coiled spring ready spring into action. -
That sir is quality gonna try that never thought of trying to land on there, I keep trying to get it down on to one of those big smoke bellowing chimneys, can't quite get the skids lined up or get the balancing point right I either fall off nose first or fall back down the chimney which is quite funny watching the huey get swallowed up by the chimney.

Here's a challenge for someone to get a Tom Tom or sat nav to work they are usb devices surely they can be configured to work with maps and textures be much easier to follow roads then.
