  1. It's something you can select for the aircraft in the mission editor. It is not a warehouse change the way you do it for missiles and other munitions.
  2. That's one thing ED actually did, but none of the servers limit MW50. Someone correct me if that isn't true, thanks.
  3. The flight modeling is probably the most accurate you'll ever get for these specific warbirds. The terrible result for gameplay is on ED because of the variants they chose to model. You can be successful in any of our four fighters, of course. It just gets tiresome that one side always has the advantage.
  4. Hi everyone, I don't get to fly DCS much these days. When I fire up the P-51 in instant action I get engine failures left and right doing the same things I used to do with no problems. Is it me? Did something change? After all this time I was hoping that the Merlin would have its due.
  5. Hi, some of control assignments look like this, and I cannot bind them to my joystick or throttle. Do I have to delete my control settings and rebind everything?
  6. Thanks for this. Been away for months and was about to go crazy when I couldn't have the chocks removed.
  7. 109K-4 has great performance at high altitudes, too. Don't assume it has the same weakness as a DB605A. If either of you care to duel to see for yourselves, send me a pm and maybe we can test it out this weekend. This isn't a bigger d*** contest. Just an establishment of facts. I fully expect a competent pilot to win every time with the 109, and to equally lose with the P-51.
  8. I had to delete the trk file in the log folder in order to post it.
  9. I have to delete the trk file in order to post here. dcs.log-20180808-231007.zip
  10. The game freezes and everything has a red tint. Then the crash message appears. Trouble uploading the zipped logs because they are 17mb. Maybe have the crash log be a size that we can post here?
  11. The DCS P-51D still only has 67" MP. Meanwhile the Bf 109K-4 has MW-50 all of the time in multiplayer; no one dares limit its use. The low altitude performance mismatch between these two fighters is large enough to erase differences in pilot ability. Pilot A in 109; Pilot B in P-51 -> Pilot A wins. Pilot A in P-51; Pilot B in 109 -> Pilot B wins. But go on... say it's the pilot and not the plane, I will prove you wrong.
  12. Keep your CPU for as long as you are happy with it; it is still good for DCS. In my experience the main benefit of a CPU/MB upgrade is the use of an M2 ssd (compared to a sata ssd).
  13. Suffering through French in high school turned out to be good for flying the dcs M2k. My teacher only said that it would improve my vocabulary and open my eyes to the broader world, meh.
  14. I enjoy the challenge of fighting other humans, but I usually don't want to hear or engage in voice chats. I play computer games to have some time to myself. The trend to require discord or srs is unfortunate.
  15. Model visibility is the Achilles heel of DCS. ED needs to get on this soon now that the great merge is more or less complete.

    F-15E?

It's not hard to be more interesting than FC3. Hopefully the F15E will get the 9x and jhmcs and the C won't.
  17. I'm late to the party, but I wanted to wait for 2.5 to fly this campaign. It is excellent I agree. Having trouble with this mission, too. In my try, the Tornados were shot down by the SA-8s, and then nothing happened afterward. The Mig-29s never came close to us and we circled endlessly.
  18. Meh, the capacitor on my gold-rated Seasonic popped in less than 2 years. The velvet bag they shipped it with sure makes me feel special, though. A good PSU is important. I see that the 1080ti draws 250W, which makes it a monster.
  19. One more... Two zipped log files won't attach because they exceed 9mb. dcs.log-20180623-183832.zip
  20. I've been saving these up for you, ED. Thank you for your attention.:music_whistling: dcs.log-20180603-193120.zip dcs.log-20180605-184428.zip dcs.log-20180611-142905.zip dcs.log-20180621-234201.zip dcs.log-20180622-193347.zip dcs.log-20180624-195135.zip dcs.log-20180629-143207.zip dcs.log-20180630-002743.zip
  21. Research has been done in this and you are correct. A human can reach for a button or knob without looking. Pointing on a screen requires visual focus. The point of the F35 displays is that they can be customized according to pilot preference (on the ground hopefully).
  22. The AI cheats and doesn't use the same flight model as the player.
  23. When did this change? The WW2 AI snipe you head-on and from all kinds of low probability angles. Good AI should fly more like a human, and shoot like one, too.
  24. In another thread some said that they stopped flying WW2 modules after everything switched to the Normandy map and required the asset pack. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=208927 So, I'm hosting some old air-quake style maps that use the caucasus map and do not require the asset pack. If you're interested let me know how it runs for you. Look for "WW2 airquake" in the server list.
  25. Even then, the mod doesn't scale with resolution. If you run the sim in 4k the dot is so tiny you might as well not being using the mod at all. Labels also have the bad feature of being visible through solid cockpit parts. DCS needs something like smart scaling. ED introduced model-enlargement sprites a couple years ago. The sprites were supposed to be a better solution because they were "new" and smart scaling is "old." But the sprites were so unsuccessful they were removed from the game while smart scaling remains a popular visibility option. 1990s tech for the win.
