  1. I've been saving these up for you, ED. Thank you for your attention.:music_whistling: dcs.log-20180603-193120.zip dcs.log-20180605-184428.zip dcs.log-20180611-142905.zip dcs.log-20180621-234201.zip dcs.log-20180622-193347.zip dcs.log-20180624-195135.zip dcs.log-20180629-143207.zip dcs.log-20180630-002743.zip
  2. Research has been done in this and you are correct. A human can reach for a button or knob without looking. Pointing on a screen requires visual focus. The point of the F35 displays is that they can be customized according to pilot preference (on the ground hopefully).
  3. The AI cheats and doesn't use the same flight model as the player.
  4. When did this change? The WW2 AI snipe you head-on and from all kinds of low probability angles. Good AI should fly more like a human, and shoot like one, too.
  5. In another thread some said that they stopped flying WW2 modules after everything switched to the Normandy map and required the asset pack. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=208927 So, I'm hosting some old air-quake style maps that use the caucasus map and do not require the asset pack. If you're interested let me know how it runs for you. Look for "WW2 airquake" in the server list.
  6. Even then, the mod doesn't scale with resolution. If you run the sim in 4k the dot is so tiny you might as well not being using the mod at all. Labels also have the bad feature of being visible through solid cockpit parts. DCS needs something like smart scaling. ED introduced model-enlargement sprites a couple years ago. The sprites were supposed to be a better solution because they were "new" and smart scaling is "old." But the sprites were so unsuccessful they were removed from the game while smart scaling remains a popular visibility option. 1990s tech for the win.

    Mission 3

During ILS approach 2 Mirages were on the runway in front of me. I land successfully behind them, enter the taxiway, and the Mirages enter the same taxiway ahead of me and turn for a collision course. I stop, but they ram me anyway, and I die.
  8. If you create a multiplayer server without forwarding the correct port anyone on the same LAN will be able to see the server, but not anyone else. Why bother with Hamachi?
  9. Sad but true. For the AI there is a simple hierarchy of what beats what, no matter the skill level you set: Spit>109>P51>190

    Amazing!

The newest add-on module for the DCS Mig-21bis:
  11. This. Give me a consistently populated server for WW2. I don't care if it's airquake or whatever. We would be lucky to have airquake. Then there might actually be someone to fight.
  12. Magic II on the mirage is better than the aim-9p in dcs.

    Amazing!

Canopy is a filthy mess in open beta. Can't stand to fly it.
  14. Funny that the one of the best F-18 videos for DCS is on a channel usually reserved for Star Citizen. I've been watching Jarus' journey into DCS with some interest. I don't watch much youtube but his stuff is usually worth a view.
  15. +1 It's an excellent choice, and it carries gbu-12s.
  16. I've spent the most hours in... Mirage 2000 Mig-21 ...and all of the WW2 modules. The only module I (kind of) regret purchasing is FC3, e.g. Su-27, F-15, etc. Many seem to enjoy them, but they're not for everyone.
  17. Good advice here already. I'll add that if you're trying to train with the instant action mission it is frustrating because the tanker begins turning if you're not quick at it. I went into the mission editor and doubled the tanker's distance to WP1 and now all is good.
  18. Agree shagrat. Right now the F-18 loses lock with even small control inputs. It will have to improve in that respect so that cranking is possible. It seems like a happy accident that the F-18 cannot equip the Aim-120 for a few weeks (months?). Otherwise the Aim-7 would never have received so much attention. :)
  19. Sale! There's a sale on right now. Was this announced?
  20. Heh, fly the Mirage lately? It's better than the F-18+Aim-7, but if your target notches below the horizon you will lose lock, every time. The days of boy-scout radar in DCS are coming to an end. I can't wait for the FC3 planes not to lock me up while I'm on the taxiway.
  21. When I used to practice with this mission I had the same frustration. Ultimately, I went into the ME and changed the mission so that the other Mirage is in a separate flight. Then he engages as he should.
  22. IFF isn't in the manual and I'm too dumb to figure it out. What am I supposed to see now?
  23. It's an issue with lack of aaa and sams.
  24. Great news. We need more DCS level Russian aircraft. I will definitely pick this one up.
  25. Lighten up, dude.:music_whistling:
