  1. Just not true. An SSD will only improve loading times. In game performance will not differ. Now haven said that....is there anything wrong with an SSD? No. You'll be spending far more time playing than loading in the end.
  2. The only advantage an SSD will offer over a traditional HDD is loading performance. In game performance will not be noticeable. I know this first hand. With my system (see sig) DCS will run 40+FPS min.
  3. Be certain to clear the entire row/s under 'throttle & stick' in the input settings with DCS for both the stick and throttle. Then set them accordingly.
  4. Can this be used along with 'Voice programming' from the other thread? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=227717
  5. Found out that the curve profile in the software had been flipped for throttle 2. Setting it to the same as throttle 1has corrected it.
  6. Did just that. However....once the lock is engaged the right engine goes AB. Unlocking the throttle it functions perfect.
  7. Resolved it.... Found out that if each engine is mapped individually (left & right) in sim control settings the throttle must remain unlocked. If locked the throttle wants to behave like a single engine aircraft. Doing so...will throw the right engine into AB while the left remains at idle (both closed). Unlocking the throttle and they behave like they should. All axis in HOTAS column were cleared.
  8. Bought an X56 HOTAs and am in the process of setting it up. However.... I noticed that after mapping the throttle axis (left & right) prospectively if the throttles locked they function correctly. If I unlock the throttle bringing the right one to idle puts it into afterburner. I tried inverting it but that does not correct the issue. Thoughts?
  9. Just had a the same issue when setting up in P3Dv3. I had to be sure and remove the setting/s (default) for axis within the sims control settings. Once done, I had to be sure to bind throttle settings to the throttle and not the stick. There is a tab above to choose stick vs throttle.
  10. Be sure and use a powered USB hub with the X56. Many ghosting issue/s are tied to USB power issues when trying to use the stick/throttle with ports on the motherboard or front panel.
  11. Better to go with a TV or monitor?
  12. The following is a link to the files that were created. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0wf4babfo1ntyxg/dcs.log-20180820-044243.zip?dl=0
  13. Beta release? I thought 2.5 was it?
  14. I had my video card die on me (XFX HD 7870) and I also did a clean install of the OS and drives (3). I need to reinstall DCS and my modules. Given my situation what do I need to do? Now have a new Asus RX 570 4GB OC Edition Much appreciated.
  15. His name at least deserves to be stenciled onto the side of the fuselage near canopy.
  16. It's my understanding that Intel pulled the patch due to issues.
  17. Seems shadow related.
  18. Be sure that the 'Disable fullscreen optimizations' is check marked under the compatibility tab after right clicking on the DCS shortcut.
  19. Depth of field on?
  20. Be sure that 'Disable fullscreen optimizations' is check marked when right clicking on the shortcut for DCS under compatibility tab. This was a new feature added in the 1709 build that is known to cause issues with AMD cards and certain apps/games when ran in fullscreen.
  21. One thing to check since you have an AMD card. Right click on the DCS short cut select Properties>Compatibility>Disable fullscreen optimizations (Be sure this is check marked)
  22. Bit more insight: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/02/intel_cpu_design_flaw/
  23. There are reports thus far of as much as 5-30 percent overall decrease in performance due to the flaw. The gain from say a 2500K to 6700K is roughly 15-20 percent so a drop of performance of ~ 30 percent would pretty much negate any gain from a hardware upgrade. I'm likely to just keep an eye on the OS updates and elect to 'not' install it. http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/security/a14537256/horrific-security-flaw-affects-decades-of-intel-processors/
  24. Notice if the 'shadow' setting is set at anything other than off I see strange shadows effects from trees when flying over hills etc. They disappear when flying by them or over them. Using an XFX HD Radeon 7870DD 2GB 256bit with Crimson 17.10.2 drivers (see sig for full specs)
