  1. Thank you for clarifying this. Yes, all switches do work, so that's what's important. Thanks for the posts. : )
  2. Within the past week, i got a message to update the SimAppPro software. Once i did the green lights on the panel diagram quit showing up. The actual panels work fine and light's work fine, it's just the software diagram no longer shows the position that the switches are in. Not a big deal as the switches still work, but it's still strange. Only the rotery dials still show position . I submitted a bug report to WinWing. Just curious if anyone else has seen this? Dave
  3. Cool. Thanks.
  4. Can someone tell me which mission number is the one for the Normandy landings / Invasion on D-Day? Thanks. Dave.
  5. I just wanted to thank you for this instruction. I was looking for a way to do this and came across this information. I tried it with a SA6. They did release properly, however the SA6 did not fire upon the Decoy's. It did fire once, but it was at the F14 which was turning cold. So maybe other types of SAM sites will fire, I will test more. But this was great help!
  6. You nailed it. Two xanax later after being up all night in distress, i finally got some rest. Thank you for looking out.
  7. Oh!. That explains it. Well looks like some of the functionality is already there, but not very useful lol. Thank you for letting me know. I figured the hotfix added it. Oh well, will be a nice addition for sure.
  8. Pressing the left side top button "Map" Doesn't do anything for me. It just stays on the ground mapping. I can only press sensor ctrl R two times and it will lock random moving targets, but no matter what i do, i can not get the sweeping line with the ability to choose a target. Ie no GTM Radar mode. Probably will need to wait till another instructional video. Looks easy, but not working for me. Sure it's user error.
  9. Can someone tell me what cajaun's call sign will be displayed on the SA Pg. Mission 10? I'm having a heck of a time trying to find him on the sa pg. Is it C something? I guess box the TCN and punch in his tcn #50 might help huh? Are there other tricks to find him? Fun mission, but i keep hitting quit due to not finding him by push time. Dave EDIT: NVM. Using the TCN helped the most. And i turned on lables to make sure lol. I did notice in the ME, that the coordinates did not match the targets. They were close but not dead on. I grabbed the coordinates from the ME and hit all my tgts.
  10. Also make sure you Turn on Awaks DataLink "EPLRS" ( "Perform Command" / "EPLRS", ) That needs to be set in order for the awaks to display the enemy aircraft etc... I mention, cause I just found this out myself. I was like why no hits? lol.

I don't have that throttle panel yet, but good to know. This is a good thread to add these helpful hints. Thank you.

    SIMAPP Pro Setup

I hope this helps others as I spend quite a bit of time reading and watching to learn how to set up the Flight and Combat Panels with the information which is out there. Anyway, since it's fresh in my mind and there is no real manual for installing this software here you go. First Go into your DCS custom settings folder under saved games and make a backup of your orig key bindings, just in case you want to go back for what ever reason. 1. Plug in your Panels. ( Use the USB's which are connected to your MB, not a HUB. ) ( You can likely change this after init setup to a Powered hub if you like ) Windows will then automatically install the drivers. Like any other Joystick. 2. Next Download the SIMAPP Pro Software for windows here. https://www.wwsimstore.com/home/simapp_pro/. 3. Run the Exe like any other, and you will then get a message to likely update the firmware. a. Keep in mind you will need to update the firmware on each device. ( Clicking on the device tab at top to select which unit ) then select "Firmware Update". Then use the back arrow at top to go back to device screen and select the other and same process. Now you have updated both units. ( Keep in mind while the firmware is updating, the back lighting will go out, do not be alarmed it will come back on ) Make sure you do not loose power or unplug the units during the firmware update. Maybe use a batt backup or something like that. 4. Next Log into your account at the top right. ( Same Log in as the main Winwing website which you made the account with. ) 5. CLick the Cog Wheel ( Settings ) At the top right and configure the app to connect to the sim. DCS World Open beta, and choose the path to the root Dir of the game ( not the settings, as the app will find that automatically as you will see. ). Now the app knows where to put setting. 6. Next Click on the tab "Key Bindings" It should be default select DCS and the Hornet Module.. At the very top you will see the controllers, Eg. Flight panel, or Battle Panel. Choose one to update at a time. On the right side you will see the option to download some Key binds. You can search varies aircraft from here as well. But to keep it simple select the "Default" Set and click download. 6a. Now click the "RUN" green Button. This will program the settings for you, even with the game not running yet. 7. Now do the same process for the other panels. You have to download the key bindings for each controller. 8. Under the device tab, click on the unit to adjust the back-light. That is controlled by the slider on the right side. It's set at max brightness by default. 8a. You can also throw switches here and see that they are connected 9. Now Load up DCS, FA18 Hornet. And everything will be connected. Took me about 30 minutes. If I had read something like this first. Maybe 5 minutes to set up. 10. You can use the DCS Controls options to change any of the bindings. Like I did with the Fuel Prob. I swapped out the Hook BYpass for the Fuel Prob. You don't need to do anything in the app after the init download. All other settings can be done normally. Downloading these default settings for the panels did not mess up any other setting which I had. 11. If you want to make it where some of the switches work 100% accurately; Like three positions has some issues. But it works good enough for me. But I found this guy's post where he supplies a Lua script to make these settings work better. I will link below, but I have not downloaded it, so I can not say if it works with the current version of DCS or not. Hopefully this will save some time for others. Happy Holiday's Dave. Chase1399 Hornet Driver.
  13. Attached Hope this helps. Dave SLAM1.trk
  14. Load the SLAM AGM-84E with data link, one Aim 120c amraam, and rest Mav's-F's. Then go to stores, and choose Aim 120C missile, when you go to select tgt sizes the "SLAM" is overlaying the Aim 120 tgt size option, the one on the right. Hopefully this makes sense. Just cosmetic. Dave Edit: I was using the Left DDI.
  15. We are looking for like minded pilots who enjoy flying relaxing but entertaining Modern Fighter missions. Myself and five others get together once a month, on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm EST ( USA ) . We fly just for the enjoyment of simple missions. We've been flying together for a few years now. Most of us live in the States, and the others live overseas. So this is why we fly at 2pm EST. Our missions last approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. We make them somewhat easy so even if you do get shot down You'll have an option to start from the Ground again, ( Or Super Carrier ) or a slot where your aircraft is already in the air close to the combat area, so you can get back in the action without taking off again. *( During the Month leading up to Mission Day, we will all be in Communication as to select a Sunday which works for everyone. I will also inquire as to what loadouts you'd prefer, as well as which Fighter you want to fly. - You will have a Briefing in the Mission knee-board, which will give you possible Targets to look out for. You will recieve a PDF mission briefing about a week before the Mission. - Current Fighters which we fly are the FA18 Hornet, F16 Viper, F14 Tomcat. and attack Helo's ( I personally only Fly the Hornet ) * Map's which will be required: Persian Gulf, Syria maps. * MOD's which will be required: Any Modern fighter will work. - If you choose to Fly the Hornet with Carrier ops, the Super Carrier will also be required. Not a Deal breaker though, as I will give you a start position at a Ground Base if you do not own the SC. But if your a Hornet Driver with the SC, you will be in my Group. - We use SRS for comms, and Teamspeak VOIP running in the background. We use Teamspeak to get set up, then switch to SRS once live, depending on mission goals. - We also have a dedicated server. It's time to expand out little group. We are looking to expand only to 8-10 Pilots. To be a good fit with our group, please adhere to these standards. * Be on time * Be at least 30 YOA, ( Just a rough age limit to promote maturity levels. ) our ages range from 30's to 50's and up. * Must Honer the time and date commitments. Must be organized and reliable. ( Nothing is worse then putting together a mission for say 6 people, then only have 2 show up. If you can't dedicate 2 hours once a month to this group, then don't apply ) We are not a training squadron. You will need to be familiar with the basics of the Aircraft you choose to fly. This is not to say you can't ask questions. Heck, we get updates from ED all the time and things change all the time. So naturally none of us are going to be experts with this stuff. If any of this sounds interesting to you, we are looking for just a few people to join our Sunday Flying Day. Post below any questions you may have and if you are interested. If your interested, reply below or you can PM me. Thanks, I hope everyone stays safe and has a good week. Chase1399
  16. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Nine line gives two coords. So i enter the data og of current flight plan add a new WP (#10). Then ufc to enter both N & W coordinates into the WP Data pg. So then when i switch back to hsi pg and switch to my new wp 10 it shows the waypoint is + 2000 miles away. I've entered in new wp's before so not sure. The only thing i can think of is using the STD HDG option doesn't give you the best precision?. But it shows. 05 & ok. Then i switch to IFA . Maybe i need to enter a grid too?. Anyway. Just wanting to use the new waypoint for the tgp to slew. But there is no altitude from nine line either. Dave.

  18. + 1. I'll make sure I TO before he does next time. But I wanted to report this as well. SMOKE does take off, then lands immediately after. Even after I took off which was maybe 30 seconds after he does. * Also for what ever reason the rainy weather only displays rain randomly for Miz 2. I had to restart the mission like 3 times before it would take. I feel this is a Beta issue and not related to your handy work. More of an ED Bug I'm thinking. 2nd topic. In Mission one, the Carrier group is still firing on the Iranian patrol boat. Are we shore all the fixes made it into Beta 2.5.6.54046? Overall. These are little things. As a mission designer, I can appreciate the amount of work that went into this be that of all the parties involved. Great work and loads of fun. Even when it doesn't go as planed. But does anything really go as planed these days lol. Thanks. Dave.
  19. Redkite i believe. Here you go. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3309905/ And instructions
  20. "my advice is to do just that and then run mission 3A from the campaign folder separately just to finish it - you will start behind the tanker." That will work. So some missions will have a part A or B and use this as a way to manually continue. Sounds good. Thanks. I'll be picking this up. I've read nothing but steller reviews. : ). Dave.
  21. I read on a FB post that the Autosave feature was being worked on. I've read mission 3 takes close to 3 hours. Has today's DCS Beta update added in the save feature? How does it work?. Thanks. Dave
  22. Hello Mr. Voight. With current PiTool and streamVr etc.... do these changes still help? I'm using the VR Shader Mod as well. On the Super Carrier, I'm lucky to get 18 fps. Do you have any suggestions? I have the Pimax 5K XR version. Thanks. Dave
  23. That's interesting that the rift S too does not have the crosshairs. Thank you for your help.
  24. Hi all, with a 161 pages of this thread, it was to much to skim though for answers. So I'll just ask. I have the Pimax 5K XR version. How do you guys adjust the IPD. Unlike the Oculus, where there was a green crosshair, the Pimax has none. But it does have a slider wheel and further adjustments in the software. I just have no idea which way to slide the IPD. I think I have it on 64 ipd. I get eye strain while flying. Even more so if I turn off the parallel Projection option in the Pimax settings. But that comes with a performance hit. I know DCS has added there own native parallel Projection but with only that on, I do get the cross eyes and way worse eye strain. In short, I don't know how to adjust the IPD. hopefully that alone will help. Thanks. Dave.
