  3. Hi Dudes! Thanks to Chrissi from the Virtual JaboG 32 (http://www.virtual-jabog32.de), i was able to expand my (somewhat invisible due to no advertisement, was just testing if it would get some people, and it did) forum project. I had it running on a iphpbb free forum but now i have moved to an actual domain called http://www.pilot-lounge.net Everyone that loves flying (in real life or simulated) is invited to step by and have a look! My Team and I would be more than happy to have you guys share some discussions with us in this new forum community. As i know there are some real pilots amongst us, (im a gliderpilot myself) there is also an area for those that want to share their experiences and pictures! We hope to see you there soon! Best Wishes, Flip http://WWW.PILOT-LOUNGE.NET

  8. I found the data again, remember, we are talking about the JG73 MiG29 aircraft (as is the only luftwaffe mig squadron and was based at Laage, its CORRECTLY displayed on the Lomac MiG29 of the Luftwaffe with the correct markings!) "The East German JG3 took delivery of its first MiG-29 in 1988, and by 4 October 1990 had 24 on strength, equipping two squadrons. A follow-on batch were on order, but were never delivered. With the re-unification JG3 became Evaluation Wing 29 on 1 April 1991. On 25 July 1991 the decision was taken to keep the aircraft and integrate them into the NATO air defence structure. JG73 was activated in June 1993, and the MiG-29s assumed a National (Day Only) QRA(l) commitment over the former East Germany. The MiG-29s moved to Laage in December 1993 and on 1 February 1994 the unit gained a NATO QRA(l) commitment. The two aircraft on QRA were assigned to NATO, while the rest were assigned to national tasking. All will be NATO assigned when the F-4s move to Laage to complete the wing." 9. Its not 1989. The(West) German Airforce(as is in the game) for example did not have the MiG29 in operation until 1990-1992.(Mere estimate!!! but definately after the end of the cold war!!!!). The whole LOMAC storyline is biased. Flip
  10. good point! Flip
  11. The fact that the IRIS-T was losing alot of energy in a turn was serious problem at the early stages of testing. The Missile's rocket propellant and controlsurface software has been sufficiently improved to enable it to contain enough energy to sustain a good chance of a hit. Yes i know i will get responses like "give me sources, if you dont give me sources i wont believe you boohoo" yada yada i know what youre on about :D Im not in this missile business at all so you have the right to presume my statements are biased. Im not here to play james bond and say i cant tell you from whom i got the information, simply put: either believe me that its the best short range air to air missile, or dont  Best Wishes, Flip
  12. the ASRAAM's maneuverabilty is not as good compared to the IRIS-T or the AIM-9X, the controlsurfaces are not sufficient enough. But to make up for this it is extremely fast. The IRIS-T has the range and maneuverability. It has thrust vectoring coupled with control surfaces, so basically, it should need less rocket-power for maneuverability than the 9X or the ASRAAM. The Python 5 is just an amazing missile. So is the Python 3 and 4, amazing pieces of work and the developers have alot of experience and they get feedback from combat experiences by the israeli defence force / airforce!!! But in the end i think the IRIS-T is still THE missile that you would want on your aircraft!!! Flip
  13. since my dad helped develop it i personally believe the IRIS-T is the best short range air to air missile out there! :D:D:D Ehehehe...FLAME FLAME ..come to me :D Flip

  15. "JERRY JERRY JERRY!!!!" lol Whats the problem with NATO having sent alot of Aircraft to the Theatre? They just wanted to have make sure there are enough assets so everyone is "safe" ...I dunno..this thread contains alot of b to tha S Flip
