  1. I found this most excellent video on you tube ${1}
  2. Especially if you (like me) live in South Africa: £1=R15........ouch:doh:
  3. I remember now it was called LHX.http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=84643&stc=1&d=1373446779
  4. Anyone remember Harrier for Commodore 64, Mig 29 (XT), and there was a chopper game too where you did milk runs and pickups cant remember the name.
  5. Flew both real and sim helis. With sim aircraft you have no real sense of inertia and no "feel". This in my opinion makes sim flying more of a challenge than the real macoy. With sims you tend yo have your eyes inside the cocpit more in order to "feel" what the craft is doing (especialy with regards to vertical speed). This is not a very good habit in real life (except for IFR). As already stated by a number of previous posts practise makes perfect. Landing where intended in FSX for example is no real accomplishment (no VRS moddelled). However the feeling of accomplishment in having full control of the huey in DCS is what simmers are after. BTW the first time I tried to hover in real life with Allouette III I could control the beast within an area roughly the size of a football field at best. I also think that on final release of the flight model is when we can really scrutinize and "judge" the characteristics. Happy (safe) landings.
  6. my g940 mods http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=84481&stc=1&d=1372924132 http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=84482&stc=1&d=1372924132
  7. Had the same problem.......opened up the throttle and found 4 wires severed (the space for the cable to fit through to the connectors is very tight). I soldered the wires back together and removed the 2 "keep in place screws" and every thing works again.
  8. 40 (I know how to use Atari)
  9. After mastering the huey go back and fly helis in FSX and then you will experience boredom.
  10. Yes Acer Aspire , Core i7, 2GHz, 8GB DDR3
  11. I actually have contacts at Eurocopter (CEO Eurocopter Africa) let me know if you hit a brick wall.
  12. Nvidia control panel Desktop tab Check Add "Run with graphics processor" to context menu (in fact check all boxes) then Right click on DCS icon: Should be the 3d option from top "run with graphics processor" Choose "high Performance NVIDIA Processor" play around with Nvidia programme specific settings untill you are satisfied. Nvidia also released new update on drivers which include GeForce Experience which automatically optimises your game settings. However DCS is not listed here. Will send them a request.....I think we should start a Nvidia thread on the forum and get all users to bother them untill we recieve this feature for DCS.
  13. Figter pilots........To the chopper Jocks: instead of "thanx for the pick up".........."What took you so long"........Bastards!:lol:
  14. I just discovered that DCS (and MSFSX) doesn't recognize all high performance graphics cards on start up. I myself have Geforce GT555M and now realised that i have always played these two sims with integrated graphics while thinking that my card just is not performing. Found an option in the Nvidia programme that adds a "Run with high performance graphics card". Right clicked on DCS icon selected this option and checked it out. With the Huey instant action easy ground attack mission I used to dabble between 16-27 FPS. I now get between 44-65FPS. So make sure DCS is in fact utilising your high performance graphics card (Nvidia users press alt tab and check for GPU activity when in DCS).
  15. FC3 definitely worthwhile especially after ED's announcement of future upgrades.
  16. :lol:Release these now pleeeeeeeeease!!!!!!!!!
