Maybe if you join an organized mixed online squadron. On free servers it happens very rarely unfortunately.

Holy Grail and Time Machine - No life beyond the Hog?
Jeesus replied to Jeesus's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
That is true, but if you watch closely only the Mig-21 module is closing in to a DCS level like aircraft (kudos to Beczl from a fellow hungarian btw :) ). Buckeye and Hawk, although they are for sure going to be awesome but in the "system wise easier to develop" category. And the rest... well I'm not too convinced about them to be honest. Edit: and belsimtek's Mi-8 of course, these guys are amazing. -
First and foremost, before you put me on the middle of the town square half naked and start to cover my body with rotten tomatoes, this is neither a rant nor a complaint, only my small evil plan to generate an expanded discussion about the present and future of our common love. Secondly, thank you for all the ED and 3rd party developer people out there for the (positively) ridicilous amount of effort and the extended awareness of the community stated bugs and problems to make the platform better with each and (almost :P ) *every iteration. So, the idea of this thread was came to my mind one or two days ago when I stated my worries about the focus of DCS shifting towards the WW2 era over at the Screenshot thread (teasing about B-17s) and I got a reply like " you can have your jets why couldn't I have my props" than I just shook my head and asked myself: What kinda jets?. Let's face the truth, the first and to that point the only modern DCS fixed wing aircraft is the Warthog. I just started wondering will there ever be a module as sophisticated as the A-10C or it's source code is the holy grail of dcs simulation and it's fidelity cannot ever be reproduced? (at least without the background founding of the military, because as far as I can recall and correct me if I'm wrong, it was a military project at first hand and become a declassified commercial project later). Or should we just accept the fact that the dirty demand sitting on the back shelf of our brain to finally fly with the Hornet or "click the hell out" of the beautiful 6DOF cockpits of the F-15C or SU-27 etc. will remain unsatisfied and we have to stick with "systemwise easier to develop" (not a quote but stated similarly by Nate from the testers team) DCS modules (yes I am thinking about e.g. the Huey, Mustang, Dora, Buckeye etc. and before you crucify me again, I didn't say worse or less realistic, I have them all, I love them all, I know how difficult to learn to fly them, they are just simpler, no fancy computers, jammers, electronics). What is your opinion?

I'm just sitting here with 'heavily suppressed enthusiasm' while watching DCS slooowly becoming "Cliffs of Georgia"... :( -
Well the software reinstall was taken into consideration, prolly will try it tomorrow. Tried all the profiles provided by default and my custom ones as well, maybe the placement of the unit is the problem or I dunno deeper investigation will be made tomorrow :)
-
Well I didn't pay too much attention to it to be honest, but I was using it today for an extended period of time late afternoon which means changing lighting conditions and the problem was consistent. Also note that behind me ther us wall only with non reflective surface. In addition I have tried it with trackclip pro and with the reflector cap and same...

Hey fellow Sim Fanatics! I have a strange issue with my TIR5 and I was wondering if anybody has similar problems. Basicly what happens is when I'm tilting my head towards the "horizon" (neutral pitch angle) just before I reach 0 pitch I got a slight jump (instantaneous ly from 1, 3 to 0, 5 value) on the Y axis which is the vertical placement of your head in the 3D space. It has nothing to do with the curves because the "grey head" natural movement also shows it. Any ideas about it would be appreciated because it annoying like hell. THANKS. If I was unclear I will post a video about it as soon as I will have broadband instead of 3G again :)

AS far as I recall from A-10c the canopy needs to be opened as rearm request is not via radio but shouting to the ground crew :) And non-concrete airstrip..simply forget about it, this is what I used to call the "Stuck'nMud" effect.

Same thing here, rampstart from 37 to 20 fps with 1.2.5. Clean install, tweaked grahics.lua, A-10C module installed only. Tears in my eyes

Well that is a question which is more difficult to answer now than it was in January. IMO for the new IG of DCS it isn't really necessary because I think we could be happy if it is going to utilise 4 cores properly. :) And also in view of 2013 games the first combo is way a better solution. Although from a future proofing standpoint of general gaming scenarios after new 8 core based consoles set their feet in the market the multicore utilization of the game engines going to leap forward very soon (1-2 years) and at the end of all this we can also consider that the change of video card interface standards (PCIE) is less likely to be changed than a next gen CPU architecture's interface (lga1150) and that basically means for a new video card you don't need a new motherboard. In summary for DCS only I would go with the first one for general longer term gaming PC investment core i7 needs to be considered. Cheers

That's a true statement, but I tried to unplug-replug, reinstall drivers, firmware update and even the bootloader installation so this could only be a hardware issue, most probably something mentioned in the previous post. I contacted my seller a few minutes ago ans asked for a replacement. Thanks for the feedback however :) Cheers

Dear Fellow Simulator Enthusiasts! :helpsmilie: I bought my Hotas Warthog a few days ago and I love(d) every aspect of it, until today when the switches on the right throttle control just died in a weird way. There's a video about what happens. I would appreciate any ideas and suggestions about it. Thanks

Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X
Jeesus replied to PotatoMan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey PotatoMan! All you have to do there is you have to go into the controls menu, press the axis assign button ind middle bottom. Then you can assign the proper axis there for "throttle both" and on the hotas x the trotthle axis called Axis Z. Buttons canbe set from th general controls menu, you should have a column there called T flight Hotas X. Double click and when the small window came up just press the button for it. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Cheers -
welcome from me as well Let me join to all the ones welcomed you here Archlight131 (and of course all the other newcomers to our praised simulation platform). If you want to practice flight management procedures, the best place you can go is the dedicated Virtual Aerobatics server. There's always a bunch of cool guys hangin' around there. Be sure to join to the teamspeak server as well. Probably you already have been there because I saw a guy in an A-10C named Sam yesterday... Anyways if you have any questions about the A-10C or want to practice formation flying and such, I'm not a die hard professional yet but can help you out as far as my knowledge goes :) my callsign is TrailBlazer (fmr. Jeesus). Cheers

Best Online Experience Ever :) Yesterday while everybody was eagerly waiting on the Virtual Aerobatics TS lobby to have the server back on, I teamed up with some awesome guys (TheLT, Dutch, 404, FreakRaccoon), and it ended up in an 8+ hour A2G practice with buddy lasing, formation flight and a !!!HUMAN!!! controlled JTAC (Big thanks to Atorque(Rich) for that). -
There you go! Updated version of graphics.lua, give it a try and see hoe it works just insert into the 'Config' folder. And don't forget to BACKUP the original :) graphics.lua

Hey! Just some things, try to put water to low settings and slew back the preload radius to about 60k. Also it is a known problem that in graphics.lua the scenery calculation distance is way more higher than it is necessary. In LOF website there was an updated version of this file, when I first tried it gave me about 20-25fps + but was a little bit flat. So I tweaked it a bit and now I have around 40 in cockpit and most of the times 60+ from external views (SP of course) and my CPU is nowhere near your's in performance (X4 955). I will try up the file here a little later, when I get around my computer :smilewink: Cheers

Yeah VA Server is the best for speeding up the learning curve, and be sure to join the teamspeak server as well, friendly and helpful guys all around and a dangerous amount of laughter :) By the way if you have the A-10C in your collection and want some help about flight management or general practice (altough I'm far away from being a pro), I spend there a big bunch of time (a.k.a TrailBlazer (fmr. Jeesus)), be my guest. For the other modules you'll find some other good experts around as well (Huey is the hit of this month)...

Asphalt grip vs off road/grass grip simulation

That completely makes sense  -
Asphalt grip vs off road/grass grip simulation
Jeesus replied to MaverickF22's topic in DCS Wishlist
So not I'm the only one who's into this problem, at least it would be nice to have a quick response towing team at the airfield to get you back on track (directive radio call for ground crew is good for me :D ). The worst thing in the world when you manage to get back to the home plate with your "Air Defence Generated Pile of Junk" and you weer of the runway a little bit as a result of the emergency situation and you know that no point in asking for repair because you have to restart/rejoin anyway. Just kills the fun. Unfortunately it's far away from the bug fixing toplist :) -
Yeah, just clear the cookies related to the site and it will work perfectly :) just did the same today...

Hello Everybody! For the sake of summer sale, today I bought the Huey Black Shark 2 and CA modules, but after implementing them into DCS world my SP logbook is gone  and the "create fast mission" button became INOP. Any ideas?
-
Let me know if you found some 3D somewhere :) It was just an idea based on the doubled view posted earlier here, I think the problem is that only the view angles became different but from the same viewpoint :noexpression: If can figure out somehow how to make view shifting separately for the 2 screens... but it shouldn't be that easy, I'm not really into the working of the lua files to be honest.
