Great read!

To add to this problem, Altitude Hold since 1.5 never even worked properly. If you put the plane into a bank, it starts slowly dipping until the AP cuts out. Interestingly enough, if you only use the ATT hold, it will hold the bank and altitude.

I don't want to get salty on missile performance development, but they vaguely said they "hired an engineer" to do the missiles... that was like a year ago, and we didn't hear anything. Meanwhile, IASGATG worked hard on his missile mod, put in the work, got the results, got the evidence, and yet ED isn't even considering it... maybe they wouldn't take anything from the missile mod, but they don't even have the desire to acknowledge that it was some good and solid work. I think it's quite unfortunate, not putting down ED in any way, because they do absolutely amazing work and detail with lots of other things, and DCS as a whole, but I really do wished and hope that things like this will be better recognized and taken seriously. Yes it does, fly at max speed in any plane, then drop then jettison the weapons, you'll start flying faster. But I can't tell you how complexly the drag is affected when weapons attached to planes. I'm pretty sure it's very basic and very surface-level.

Ahh okay, thanks. I tried using those silicon lube sprays, but they were too thin and didn't last more than like a few hours, so I guess I'll look for some silicon paste type of lube. EDIT: Do you think just some caliper grease or brake grease would work?
-
For the 15C, after you've burned through, you can use TWS like normal and launch on different targets.
-
Yes, I mean a mechanical jumpiness, not in-game sensor type. Are there any specific silicone based lubricants that you can recommend?
-
Hm. Good points you make, but if a missile has been launched on you, will it have better tracking or, be harder to break lock because the ECM will be yelling "I'M RIGHT HERE" to the missile?
-
Hi everyone, I have a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle, and it gets a little jumpy when you push it really lightly. What can I do to prevent that? I can access the rails the throttle slides on just fine, but type of lube should I put on it? Thanks!
-
So point is, after burn-in, ECM won't be advantageous or disadvantageous to you? Say you're trying to notch a missile, if you have ECM on, would it light you up and make notching the missile a lot harder?
-
Unfortunate.
-
I think that's what we're all trying to figure out ;)
-
As the title says, is it better to keep ECM on after a missile's already been fired at you or is it better to turn it off in DCS? Also, does it change depending on the type of missile (Active vs SAHR etc.)

What has happened to the chat key bindings again? Even if I delete all the binding for the chat windows in the UI Layer, pressing TAB or Tilde will still show or hide the chat for some reason. Also, I can't click a single button to type to all, but I've managed to bind a button to type to allies. What's going on again?

Chiming in a bit late, but I remember when the SU-27 wing break thing was happening and people discussing about pulling 13 something Gs on the F-15 in real life and not breaking the wings, apparently when pulling really high Gs like that actually has a tendency to bend the vertical stabilizers too, to quite a large extent. I don't have documentation to back it up, but the person who mentioned this did.

For the most part, they are exactly the same, at least from what I've noticed. The only differences exist in the cockpits :)
-
There also has been a problem with the F-15C AP starting from 1.5 where if you put the plane into ALT and ATT hold, then put it into a bank, your plane will slowly start to nose down and descend. It will nose down to the point where the AP kicks off. Yet interestingly, if you just use only ATT hold and then put the plane into a bank, it will also hold altitude. I have no idea when they are going to fix it, they said they've acknowledged the problem...

MK-20 "Rockeye" and Lau-61 M151 available again
JazonXD replied to Auric's topic in A-10A for DCS World
I knew the changes to the lua files but i don't think this would pass server integrity check. Only reason why I am hesitant to change it. We have to see why ED decided to remove it to begin with and we have to have their approval to put them back into the game. If this passes integrity check, however, then that's great! -
I guess they can do what they have with the A-10C right now, a game mode and sim mode... Since the game modes are disabled on servers, you can only play with them offline. That makes it so that you don't have to force anyone to upgrade to the fully click ones, and make it up to the server's discretion to allow for game mode or not. I mean, I know most servers won't allow it, but I guess that's just how it's going to be. No one complained not being able to play on the 104th in the game mode for the Hog so...

I'm assuming that since it's a Spitfire contest, the video HAS to be centered around the Spit and not just a general video contest? Sorry for stupid question.

How to lubricate or grease throttle?
JazonXD replied to JazonXD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ahh okay. Thanks for both of your responses. If anyone else has other tips to offer, that would be appreciated! :) -
Hi everyone, I just recently bought myself a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle (the one in the T.16000M HOTAS) and I noticed that it is sightly skippy at small inputs, but I know that is supposed to happen a little bit with cheaper throttles, but whenever I move the throttles, they make a small grinding sound, like metal to metal. So I was wondering if I could lubricate the rails the throttle slides on and if so, what can I use? Thanks.

When I sit in a comfortable position and centre my TIR, I find that, for example, I'm looking too low into the cockpit. Is there a way that I can change the default "centre" of the cockpit so when I centre my TIR it will look there? Thanks.
-
Okay, well. I decided to buy it! Haven't had much time to really play around with it yet, but I hope that I won't regret my choice!
