  1. Hmm I remember that the Russian Betty wasn't cut off until maybe like a few months ago or maybe about between a year ago and now... I don't remember the problem occurring in DCS 1.2.x
  2. Nope, unfortunately, it didn't fix the MaxG or AoA Over Limit warning sounds. I have no idea what "indication" means though haha.
  3. Yup, it's annoying. Like I said, maybe the Russian planes have that sound (realistic) but since they screwed up and replaced the Eagle's sound with the Russian sound, so now the Vulcan also has heavy cannon sound and the click lol.
  4. Actually when you have an asymmetric load, (just fired one amraam for example) there's actually banking of the AC with that. However, because of the PTC system that automatically trims the aircraft to almost 1G constantly, you'd have to put the plane into level flight and then let off the stick for a while and you'll see the plane pull very slowly and slightly to that one side.
  5. Ahh okay. I see, that's pretty cool. It would be even more awesome if we can get a custom video onto that. Since you mentioned it's rendered in real time, how come there's no loading screen to render or load the world? And does it mean that it's controlled by a script? Maybe there's a chance to edit the script so we can get a custom thing going on?
  6. The payloads section is the most useful and best part. Thanks!
  7. Thank You! But do you have any idea as for the video for the "Default" theme? I'm thinking of making a custom video for that.
  8. Hi guys, I want to know what the directory to the main menu background is for DCS. The background I mean is the picture for you chosen "theme" (For example, the A-10C that's flying or the F-15C with the Aggressors livery). I want to make a custom one. Thanks!
  9. Yep, still sounds the same as it was when it got broken. It sounds like the russian cannons instead of the M61 Vulcan. Like I've mentioned above, there seems to be a click whenever you stop firing. Maybe it's part of the russian cannons but since they're the same on the F-15, it would have that too.
  10. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who experiences this, but for some reason, the cockpit audio warnings for Over G and Over AoA are glitched and they loop before the whole warning plays. It is quite annoying and makes it feel 10x more bitchy than Betty. Not to mention it does break immersion somewhat. Is there a fix for this or anyone know why this happens? Will this be fixed? This problem has been here for several updates already. Thanks.
  11. Just a short post exclaiming my happiness after reading the update changelist and seeing that the missiles will not dive into the ground anymore after eating a flare.:joystick:
  12. Thank you for all your responses! The guide is definitely a good read and like Kobe said, it seems to a good place to start, but not detailed enough. As for the vertical scan, I had no idea that it could actually lock beyond 10 miles... Maybe it was Flaming Cliffs days that was the limitation? But anyway, if you have the radar on in the VSS mode, is there a way to lock by radar and not trying to lock by EO? The situation that I imagine is that you can see someone but they are nose hot and not afterburning. The target should be close enough to lock on very quickly using radar, but since the target is is not afterburning and maybe mixed with ground clutter, the EO. It seems from the guide that even if the radar is on, the VSS will still try to only use EO to lock?
  13. At about the 450 to 500 knots IAS mark, (IIRC, it's IAS and not TS), your elevator would almost cease to work under normal flight operations (flaps up). But also, at that speed, if you manage to get the elevators to bite, full aft stick would pull enough Gs to rip your wing(s) off. I have not been able to fly faster than that so I'm assuming there's probably no other structural failure specifically done by the excessive speed. As for the Mach Indicator on the 25T... I have no idea, I don't fly the froggies often :p
  14. So I've been a long time F-15C driver and I've really gotten used to being spoiled with the superior SA with the Western RWR and generally better SA of the radar as well. I've just started to fly the Flanker recently and I just want some experienced pilots' inputs and "pro-tips" on flying the Flanker into a BVR engagement or just any engagement in general? Also, if there are any specific advice or details you can share about the avionics such as the radar or EOS, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  15. Yep, the model is still there and the default payloads haven't changes, so they're still there in the payloads but you can't equip them by yourself anymore.
  16. Basically just keep in mind that you should have about 21uAoA for all weights and configuration on you approach and you should be good. (I've seen this posted around quite a lot and people were referencing the dash 1 so...)
  17. that is a little bit of reassurance; it's great seeing the beautiful artwork put into 2.5 and the caucasus map but my concern is the performance and how much it will suffer seeing the textures and qualities are even higher.
  18. I have not tried it yet but since it is given that it's a TWS mode... it probably means that the receiving aircraft will have no indication until the missile goes pitbull.
  19. Um, may be a really dumb question and irrelevant, but what are you guys referring to when you say "-1"? Thanks.
  20. The whole FC3 series of aircraft focuses on the aircraft FM and model and weapons, but has a simplified avionics and NO clickable cockpit for any of the FC3 aircraft. It's great for novice players who are just getting into DCS, but even then, you still have to practice a lot with those planes to master it and get better at the tactics and such. The rest of the planes in DCS are full clickable (as close as you can get) and the avionics are modeled as full as they can.
  21. it's about the AoA, 21 for approach at any configuration, flare to 23 uAoA, as said many times on this forum :)
  22. They seemed to be removed from the sim for some reason for player selection. I've noticed this a long time ago. An alternative (basically upgraded version, successor) is the CBU-87. You CANNOT equip the Rockeyes even if you made your own payload as Razor stated.
  23. Interesting, if you used the brakes above 60 knots and that means your aircraft has to be sanctioned and parked in another spot... that doesn't seem to make for very effect use of the airfield space huh? Safety first I guess.
  24. Ahh, I see. Thank you.
