  1. Referring primarily to sling loads and shared cockpit? Will be interesting to see how much progress is made toward them through the remainder of this year. Huey beta was pushed pretty hard initially as the first DCS module to allow multiple players to share a cockpit. Still waiting on that. Mi-8 was released before Huey was finished and with the release of 1.2.7, Belsimtek said the Huey was essentially finished. Guess we'll see if 1.2.8 can deliver to us what we were told we could expect.
  2. I understand that, but they are issuing release dates and with them, certain practical expectations. Perhaps if so much of their development capability is beyond their control, they should either refrain from issuing release dates or have a serious meeting with those upon whom they rely beforehand. If they tell you it will be done at a certain time and it is not, they are to blame. This is a simple, base-level principle of business to which we all have to adhere in our own lives at some point. Belsimtek is no exception to the rule.
  3. I don't know. Huey still isn't finished - major promised features remain missing. I eouldn't be surprised if they disappear entirely. F-15 AFM is nowhere near any of the long line of advertised release dates. They leave a lot to be desired in that area, but so does everybody else, including what you might call first-party aircraft, such as the F-18C.
  4. Hahaha ... will we never learn? Automatically add six months to a year to the end of ANY release date or ride the roller coaster.
  5. Me too, though I'd buy anything rhat would actually come up for sale at this point. Push a Kittyhawk Flyer out there and I'll bite.
  6. Maybe they knocked down the wall and share a super deep, skinny bench seat like my parents' '85 Suburban. Of course there's always the outside chance a miscommunication took place.
  7. Hard not to feel a little guilty, but I did indeed have a few. But hey, you'll be that much more tolerant for next time. Thanks for posting.
  8. Oh my bad. I'll go look right now. First I'm seeing of this. His work is fantastic!
  9. Ahhhh ... tye Scats, finally. Nice! Now if we could only get the Cripes A'Mightys, ;-)
  10. WoW. That's great. I have to try this now. I'm thinking in practical use, this isn't idea for areas with multiple SAM threats but it could certainly make the difference in an SEAD task and more so at night. Thanks Flag.
  11. ... and if for some reason you aren't already, hook up good headphones that carry the low end well. A lot of the audio in DCS has really good low frequency sounds, especially the aftetburners of passing jets. Before CA, I used to dial up the F11 view of the airdrome closest to the action and move my view to the battlefield just to watch and listen to everything. It was awesome and CA just made that 1,000 times easier and added functionality.
  12. Really? I'm afraid to ask how, but how?
  13. It has a ton of potential, but I think the bulk of the missions running in multiplayer right now aren't designed with CA in mind (and that's probably how it should be). But, if you find someone else who likes to play CA-centered missions, challenge him/her to a 1v1 RTS style game. Those are great, especially at night for a change of pace - kind of World In Conflict feel. Also playing as a JTAC can be a lot of fun if the mission is built in a way that the JTAC has real value and can actually be worth contacting to another human player. For instance a mission with scattered targets and AAA emplacemements (no SAMs) between buildings in a city and adding a fairly thick layer of clouds not too far off the deck in a mountainous part of the map with perhaps a light fog (higher clouds, fewer mountains to mitigate risk). Talking pilots on target (since lasing wouldn't really work) can be fun for everybody and challenging at the same time. Work the Mk-82's and maybe some shallow CCIP drops. Just a place to start.
  14. Well of course, and I wouldn't expect him to, but LotATC in particular would add a fantastic aspect of realism and introduce a new role altogether. This could be especially appropriate with Nevada and Nellis and a busy base and/or any sort of Red Flag simulation missions. LotATC would need to either be purchased or leased to some effect but the cost/benefit would seem to favor ED, right?
  15. But is it any good, because it seems there are many ways this could go wrong and this is something I'd say is worth spending a little $$ to make sure it goes right? Acronis seems pretty founded.
  16. Just curious, what it would take for ED to consider implementing great ideas/mods/add-ons etc. that are already in place or in the works, such as the ones below? I mean, if the work is already being done, why not take a stab at trying to shuffle them in for good in an update at some point? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116835 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=108476
  17. Thank you ALL so much. Very helpful in getting me back in businesa. Gave Acronis a solid look and will definitely be venturing that way! Officially back up and running now and just in time too because we're now burried under snow here and here is NOT prepared for snow.
  18. Not completely sure about the first two, although I thought I read about an English cockpit for Russian fighters mod, so there's a chance there is a mod for a fully Russian one too. As for the final question, the replay system isn't perfect. Sometimes a couple pieces get out of whack. Similar things have happened to me and while I can't say exactly why they happen, I do know the replayed tracks are more likely to mess up if they're really long. I know there is a thread or two on the subject burried in here somewhere.
  19. So great to read about everybody. I won't lie, I feel a little better now. I was a smidge down because I turned 29 last week and realized that's almost 30 and felt old, ha ha. But anyway, I've been married for almost six years, just moved for the third time in five years. Settled in North Carolina. Love it! First flight sim I can remember is Jet Fighter, on floppy, but the first one I really wore out was Strike Fighter. Been on the MSFS train until I dicsovered DCS early last year. Keep 'em coming ...
  20. I don't know. They might be back, at least partly. The T-birds and Blue Angels are back in business and I've seen a couple flyovers.

    F-86

Me too. Have $$ to spend and nothin' to spend it on. So, waiting for Hawk, I guess, and maybe the MiG-21 ... eventually perhaps.
  22. Very well said. Let's perhaps try to make a complete UH-1H first.
  23. Does this work with 1.2.7?
  24. Gerg, thanks. I had no idea this was even an option. My rig's in pieces right now but I just grabbed the bottom door and sure enough, the Windows genuine actication product key is there on the sticker. Can't wait to try this. Thanks again.
  25. Ahh ha. I see. I'll go take a look at 2:11 and perhaps turn down the volume this time.
