  1. Ricardo - thank you very much for your hard work! This is fantastic. Every screw and panel can tell the story of how it was used :)
  2. That is something which was asked here from LOMAC (pre Flamming Cliffs) era. I actually like how effect is done in ROF, looks super awesome there.
  3. Request to ED team :) Would be great to have capability to "export" NVG imagery on a separate monitor. For example configuration could be implemented into monitor-setup scripts, where while setting up viewport one could set a flag if this view affected by NVG or not. like: First - it would solve issue with multi-monitor configurations, where people have NVG all over the monitors, instead of having it only on the front one. And it would allow to export NVG imagery into dedicated low-FOV HMD device (like Vuzix VR920, or choose even cheaper options) Would be cool to fly night mission with these. Where on screen you have high-rez cockpit imagery without NVG, and in goggles you have low-rez, low-fov NVG imagery. P.S. Probably something like this already could be implemented with in-game scripts I'm not aware of.
  4. Happy Birthday! :) Looking forward yo see your planes in DCS World sky!
  5. Man, I'm so happy now. Feels like I bought new computer, FPS boosted up, so I can turn more features on and make my DCS more pleasant to eye :)
  6. Of course it does, there are so many cockpit builds published on this forum with hardware gauges. Also there are few software gauge visualization programs, like mine: BSVP, LOVP or Helios for PC, or P-51 and UH-1 panels for Android. These programs take variables from simulator and visualize them as gauges, and some people quite successfully attached variable values to real devices.
  7. Спасибо :) Задумок много, но врятли у меня дойдут до них руки в ближайшее время.
  8. GeForce 555 GT, updated after checking this thread, great improvement! Smooth as silk, and smoke doesn't drop FPS as it was before!
  11. Hi PeterP, thx for the thread. I am thinking to put together my multi-monitor system for DCS in the near future. I personally doubt that this info will become obsolete with Oculus Rift, as I have my Rift Devkit now, and I see that multi-monitor system is much more practical for DCS then consumer Rift will be. Here are some of my observations on current Rift devkit with DCS: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1764950&postcount=374
  15. Indeed, I fly World version online, but use 1.1.1.1 for the training purposes, as it's much more smooth experience. It makes me sad that visually they almost identical, yet World is so worse performance wise.
  16. I have much better FPS in standalone version. About 35-40 on average in standalone compare to 20-25 in World version with similar settings.
  17. No need to, you need to activate it once, either in the World or standalone, and you can install both. I actually have both versions installed on my machine (activated once), as standalone version somehow works much faster on my machine, when I want to export MFCDs on second screen.
  18. Ah, I see, sorry didn't understood you properly in the first place :)
  19. Can you make one for sale?
  20. I would buy a functional CDU, but the whole cockpit looks so awesome :)
  21. More platforms - the better, would be cool to build full A-10C cockpit on tablets :) It is already possible with iPads, but a bit pricey!
  22. From my own experience so far it's + and - You do feel movement immensely well, but not without drawback - motion sickness factor cannot be underrated for Rift. I personally don't want to fly in a simulator with a paper bag :D But you can train your brain though!
  23. Current Rift devkit (I made photos of) is 640x800 per eye. And unlike on projector or monitor, you actually see only middle part of it, so you don't use whole 640x800. With consumer version, if they use Full-HD panel - we will have 960 x 1080 per eye, so like I said previously where there is 2 pixels, it will be 3.
  24. It is good enough to try from time to time, but imagine play in it all the time, I would say not so much.
  25. Thanks for the link Cedaway - super awesome setup, but should produce hell of a heat :) True, with proper barrel distortion center of the screen will occupy a bit more pixel-space, so it should be a bit better. Absolutely, actually FOV in Rift is very big, I'm not sure if there is a sense to make it even bigger, trust me it occupies almost all view if you move your eyes really close to the lens. Huey looks pretty good, I'm looking forward to try it out when VorpX driver came out (should be soon). But as you see A-10C would be hard (or even impossible) to use because of all the computers it has, and lot's of stuff you need to read. Trying to read this fonts hurts eyes after few minutes. Consumer version of Rift should be better, but I wouldn't expect a huge leap resolution wise. Anyway I will be here when it will be released, and I will buy it day one, and will do some more photos for you guys :) Also, high resolution small panels is technology, and it's hard to order them in needed quantities, for certain price, when you do a niche device, so hopefully Oculus will rule-out all these problems. It is more about actual devices, not the technology. But I agree, as it is now it is not suitable, and I don't think it will improve much in very near future, but in 3-5 years it can.
