  1. Not according to the description on the product page:"CAN BE INSTALLED IN OPEN BETA ONLY!" It doesn't say anything about this on the Steam page however. I'll have to check. I switched from Steam a few months ago and have always run stable, so this is new to me. I don't even know how to install open beta on standalone. It was easy in Steam to install and de-install just by going into the game properties in your game list. I'm leary of putting both on and having it screw up standalone. Edit: Doesn't work, you need open beta.
  2. How do you go about that? I have stable installed now, do I just d/l the Skatezilla utility and install the open beta from there?
  3. Still requires open beta? I was looking forward to trying this with the free trial coming up but I don't really want to switch to open beta as I've heard it's buggy and tanks your fps in it's current state. Does the Skatezilla mod mentioned allow for easy switching from open to stable?

    helo bundle

Same question here (I posted in the payment forum too). I assume from Bignewy's post though that the ED site will not get the credit for past purchases (I own 3 of 4 already, bought on Steam and transferred to standalone)? I see the discount for the Gazelle ($23CDN) on Steam. I'd like clarification on that. Why that would be the case would be baffling for sure.
  5. I moved to standalone a little while ago and transferred all my modules from Steam. I own all the helis except the Gazelle. When I put the bundle into my cart it charges the full $69.99, no discount for previous modules like on Steam. Is this a bug like the issue with the F18 when bought on Steam, or do I need to buy it on Steam and transfer...which would seem to defeat the purpose of Standalone?
  6. Do you mean like these: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/7-800x600-CLAA070MA0ACW-LCD-Screen-LVDS-TTL-Tcon-Board-DVI-VGA-LCD-Controller/181356421375?hash=item2a39af60ff:g:YagAAOSw7I5a~9pK What do you do with the wires and control board when it's hooked up?
  7. You bought the monitors for $145 each? I have the TM Cougar panels already (2-pack) but don't want to get another pack just to throw one away. I use them for the A10C and the Hornet right now. I only paid about $64 CDN ($47 USD) for those when newegg had them on sale last year. Are the ones you're using like these: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/7-800x600-CLAA070MA0ACW-LCD-Screen-LVDS-TTL-Tcon-Board-DVI-VGA-LCD-Controller/181356421375?hash=item2a39af60ff:g:YagAAOSw7I5a~9pK
  8. It's a nice setup for sure, but where I'm finding these screens they will cost me well over $300 CDN for 3 of them, which is way more than I'm willing to spend. Where did you get yours and did you get them recently?
  9. What 11.6" screen are you using in 2020? I have 2 Cougar MFDs right now on an old 22" 1680x1050 Samsung monitor and it works fine but it's a heavy monitor by today's standards and drags the swivel arm down that it's attached to. I'd like to just get a nice 1080p 11.6 IPS screen but don't know what to look for. My monitor is hooked up to my 1070 via displayport (Freesync 75Hz 1440p monitor) which leaves me with an HDMI so I assume I look for a screen with HDMI? There are several on Amazon, but reviews are all over the place. Is it better to get one powered by USB? I've read that can really impact in-game performance. Any help appreciated.
  10. Interesting, but is thing thing really worth $400+ CDN? It looks pretty flimsy. Just curious to get an opinion from those that own it. I could put this toward a new video card that will last me 10+ years instead...
  11. Thought it was too good to be true. I'll still get it as I like having the best of both worlds and a quick option when I'm busy with life. I'd still like to know what the options will be for those of us on Steam if anyone can elaborate?
  12. Clickable cockpits on 4 planes? I read somehwere that 4 of the included MAC planes will be fully clickable cockpits (the Migs and F86 for sure). Is this true? Also, I own FC3 on Steam. Will that be taken into consideration for the 'considerable discount' for FC3 owners, or do you have to have bought it direct from ED? Or will it be released as it's own separate game on Steam too? Having played lots of FC3 (and A10C/Ka50), I don't think this will be 'another Ace Combat' if they keep the same fidelity and PFM from FC3. I don't think that people that say that have ever played (or have any idea about) the Ace Combat series. VERY arcade gameplay.
  13. I'm giving it a go, and notice that it only picks up one 'POV' on my X45. The other POV's are under 'buttons' (each direction as a separate button). I assume this is how it is supposed to work?
  14. Thanks for the answers. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
  15. Reset other keys? I just discovered this from PacMan's video. Maybe answered already, but do I need to clear all of my settings in DCS that are already in there before using this, or can it be used on top? I'm most concerned with wiping out all of the presets for my Cougar MFDs in A10C. Also, I assume when everyone is talking about 'switching profiles' this is the same as a modifier (i.e. Pinkie Switch)? Anyone know if this will allow the 'Mode' buttons(M1 to M3) on Saitek controllers (I have an X45) to finally work? Thanks!
  16. Developer has confirmed removal of the old one now on Steam...likely not until after the sale though. I don't care what any of the 'fanboyz' say (do people still use that term?), it looks bad keeping it on there. How cheap they are has nothing to do with it. I've heard the same argument on the Battlefront boards justifying any price at all just to support the developers. Hogwash. Poor developers surround themselves in a cocoon of 'fanboyz' and avoid any negative criticism...and no, I'm obviously not suggesting ED or Battlefront are poor developers :music_whistling: Your work is very much appreciated and it's the only reason I buy modules now...content. Without good campaigns, I don't bother. I don't have the free time (to be proficient enough) for Multiplayer. Just bought Mi8 yesterday because of the available campaigns (and the cross-play campaign with Ka50). I will be buying your new one, once I finish the old one as I'm confident it adds enough new material to justify it. Keep them coming. Next time though, make sure the new one is available on Steam (you or whomever has that power) in place of or at least side-by-side with the old one when a sale is on, and we'll all be happy .
  17. This is all well and good but leaving the old campaign up on Steam during the current sale is a dirty trick (or at least that's how most are going to see it). I have the old one (bought in summer sale) and haven't played it yet. I'd be mighty pi*sed if I bought it this week and then a new paid version shows up right after (at full price no doubt).
  18. I'll assume from the lack of response that we do in fact have to pay for the new one even if we have the old one (and never touched it yet). I won't be buying it right now (until it's on sale maybe), but there will be a few I would bet that have bought the old one on Steam with the sale going on right now and are going to be MIGHTY cheesed that a new version shows up right after that they will be expected to pay for again. I know there are a lot of glad-handers on these forums that will pay whatever, whenever without questioning it, but that's not the majority. I just checked and the old one is still on there (50% discount, but so what if you're never going to play it when a new version is out).
  19. Does this mean if we already own the old version it will just be automatically updated to 3.0?
  20. I have an X45 HOTAS, so my file is for that. It doesn't have a split-throttle, so I use CTRL/ALT HOME to put them into IDLE for engine start. My biggest issue was that these wouldn't work, or would sometimes, but not other times. Sometimes the left would start the right engine too, which made no sense. I went in the control settings again and had a look. I noticed several of my HATS were mapped to views, which is not what I want as I use a TrackHAT. I deleted these keys and my throttle IDLE seems to work now. Must have been an update or maybe installing the Cougar MFDs that messed them up. I'm still not sure of the startup order though as there are several guides out there and they all seem to differ. I started with the game manual. The issue I'm still having is when I start the left engine and get it up to 60% (before I start the right one), shortly after (the engine cycle light goes off) I get a Master Caution and the only way to shut it up is turning off the APU GEN. I can then start the right one normally. If you read the manual and all the guides it says to shut off APU GEN only after starting BOTH engines, so I'm not sure what's wrong here. And does it really matter when you flip the pump/inverter/AC L & R, etc, so long as it's after you turn the Power on?
  21. I was having this exact throttle issue today when trying to start the engines. I screwed around for over 2 hours and only managed to get them both started once. I'm wondering if the 2.5.4 update maybe messed something up. I have my old Saitek X45 HOTAS that normally works flawlessly. I thought it maybe had something to do with my recently acquired Cougar MFD's, but I don't think that's it. I'll try your fix...
  22. Understandable and all valid reasons. It can be interesting. Shock Force 2 is my favourite of all the Combat Mission games, and I can't even pinpoint why exactly. Give me a good dynamic campaign and I'll buy all your desert maps!
  23. Maybe, I'm not a coder. I'm recalling all the issues with trees and the hit to performance they always seem to bring (all games, not just DCS)...and the fact I find desert boring I guess. Graviteam keeps pumping out DLC for Mius Front that may be real, but it all looks the same after a while...featureless Russian plains. It's great to model real-world hotspots, but unless a similarly real conflict is modeled, I'd just as soon have a more interesting map with a fictional conflict. I'm also partial to the A10 and helicopters which get down low, which is certainly part of why I'm biased. I think it's also the reason the Georgia map is the most popular....Normandy's too flat.
  24. Thanks for this Opy. I was trying to figure out how to export the RWR, copy and pasted your code here to the .lua and it works, right where I wanted it!
  25. Is what you're saying here explained anywhere in more detail for A10C (DCS 2.5.3)? I'm trying to export the RWR to my 2nd monitor. I've already got the MFDs (under my Cougar MFDs) and CDU over there with the help of A10 Cockpit Server, but can't figure out how to export the RWR...
