  1. I've landed a fair share of ILS landings at Batumi and find that I don't receive Glideslope until about 6mi out. I don't think I have ever gotten it past that.
  2. I usually like to get above any air defenses 20000 + then set up an orbit around the target area and bank so the TGP doesn't get blinded by other parts of the plane and concentrate on that target area. Study the map and as said above record the coordinates and input them into the CDU to create a waypoint that you can slave all of your sensors to. Also use the different setting on your TGP for WHITEHOT, Cold and IR.
  3. I find it odd that the listing appears twice. They only appear once in mine. Maybe that has something to do with it. I hope the vladibeasts fix works for you.
  4. As Yurgon said a track would give more info about how you flew the mission. I got direct hits on the first seven however the last five dropped in pairs 8 lased fine but broke the lase at about 6 seconds before impact. I'm not sure why that happened but the successful drops tells me that things are working right. I selected auto lase, 12 seconds. Oh BTW It appears that I was being shot at which could have affected my lasing the last few seconds before impact. I was watching the F-6 view and didn't notice the Bogie.
  5. Can't catch up with the carrier is the best one yet.
  6. Come on really? I explained on the first line to hold down the left mouse button and drag across the line after the three dots. Couldn't be any simpler.
  7. The airplane is so slow that the airspeed indicator is a calendar. Funny I thought.
  8. You will have to hold down the left mouse button and drag over the area after the three ... Enjoy I was reading a post today on Facebook and even though I worked on the A-10 for 10 years I had never heard this before. " The A-10 airspeed indicator was actually a , ready for this...Calendar. hahahahahahaha.
  9. In the DCS A-10C Manual go to page 86-93 and there is a nice printable explanation of all of the HOTAS buttons and what should happen with the long and short actions. The manual uses the real stick and and throttle controllers but you can bind the buttons to any HOTAS that you own. I use the CH Products HOTAS and all work great.
  10. Weta43 that is pretty much what I have done. As of last night after some tweaking I was able to get them to fly as I intended throughout the whole flight. This works out fine as I am free to fly around the formation and practice formation flying anywhere I like. However there are also two other A10s flying ahead of us which followed all the waypoints except did not land in the end, they just kept flying out into the ocean never to be heard from again. Weird Thanks for your reply.
  11. Thanks for the reply, that's too bad. I have been getting some good practice flying formation with the AI as I have it set up so I guess I will have to stay with that. Hope in the future they make it possible to not have to fly as lead.
  12. I created a .miz file with three A-10c flying formation and me being the fourth to practice formation flying. In the mission editor I have them set there UHF am radio to 251 MHZ first thing then to fly close formation. I can't communicate with them at all and they don't fly close formation but a wide wedge. At the waypoints they all make their turns however they want but do form up again in the wide wedge. Why won't they follow my instructions in the Mission editor? Can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong?
  13. Thanks cichlidfan, That worked. I had to do it to all of the A-10Cs that are in the mission. But the waypoints are all good now. Thanks again.
  14. So in the new Hoggit TNN 3_1 day mission the Medium range waypoint is located on the side of a mountain no where near any targets. I was wondering how I could change the coordinates that are set up in the A10C for the medium range. I want to change it in the Mission Editor so it is permanent and not have to change it every time I get in the cockpit through the CDU. Does anyone know how to change the waypoint coordinates that are preset in the mission aircraft?
  15. My problem is that the ILS bars don't show on the ADI unless I have the ILS button in the off position (green light off) and they are un-stowed. When I press to on and get the green light in the ILS button the bars stow themselves and don't work but when I press it off and the light goes off they unstow and work fine. Has anyone else had this problem.
  16. The engine should shut down as you describe but since it won't try pulling the right engine fire handle I know that is not the correct procedure but for practicing one engine landings it might work to get the engine to shut down for you.
  17. Thanks for the replies. I think it is unfortunate that the CDU info is inaccurate. But as suggested I will use the plate info for correct heading info and hope some day the CDU info is corrected.
  18. So I think that I understand why the runway headings are not shown along the magnetic headings on the runways but what I don't understand is why does the CDU Divert page list these headings and not the true magnetic headings which would be so much more useful when landing under ILS conditions. So many times I am practicing ILS landings in low visibility conditions and when I break out of the fog I'm way off of the runway. I know that every airman should have their charts with them for this info but I just don't understand the sense in not having them in the CDU Divert page. Can any one ELI5.
  19. Ah yes the new Drone A-10 combat attack unit. lol
  20. Anyone have any experience of going from Win 7 to Win 8.1. I'm reading that 8.1 is faster than 7 and am thinking of an upgrade, 64 bit of course. Give me your opinions. Thanks for your time.
  21. Regarding the precision of the roll maneuver, a lot of people mistakenly think that flying and maneuvering on an exact course is a lot of luck but any pilot will tell you that flying is a learned precision skill. That pilot already knew what course and altitude that he was going to end the maneuver in before he even started the maneuver. That is how you learn to fly airplanes.
  22. Thanks for the reply. Kinda what I thought. I have launched a couple and they just went ballistic. Oh well.
  23. Has anyone ever tried locking on to a tank with an AIM-9? I tried on the medium range without success. I wonder if it has to be a target with the engine running. I will try that later. Just messing around by the way.
  24. Pardon my correction but the GBU 12 is rated at 500 lbs. 18 year weapons loader here.
  25. USMC_Trev, that makes sense. To bad though It would have been cool to do.
