  1. You know I just now read this comment you posted before where I started reading this thread initially and no wonder your getting all pissy and going on and on about this. From the first time I said," it's your fault my map isn't working" I verbally conveyed to you on the phone that I was just kidding with you, even putting a smiley face after the joking comment I made here. Calm down, you have made your point at least twice if not three times in this thread. You are correct in some of what you say, but my DCS got screwed through some glitch of updating and after a repair is now working correctly. I never manually altered any file or files dealing with DCS or any shortcuts I created. I state this just for clarity sake, no attitude is attached to this statement. I do hope that you did absorb what skatezilla said here. "It's not hardcoded, it's the 2nd to the last line in the autoupdate.cfg" And also "But Like I said, I launch DCS.exe directly in either mode. I only use DCS_Updater to update. There is no repercussions to launching dcs.exe directly." And he said he has done this for the last 5 years. There is no advantage or disadvantage to using the Updater.exe exclusively, accept if there is a pending update and you do want to process that update. Even then you can run the updater or repair from the new initialization screen in the files tab. All the changes made to DCS.exe would have to be compiled to the .exe not the updater.exe if, through my very limited programming experience, I understand the patching/updating and compiling process correctly. My apologies if you took my ribbing you about being responsible for my map not working as reality, that was me giving you a hard time and joking with you. Hope you can accept that as I am moving on from this subject. S!Blade<><
  2. I am the person kksnowbear is talking about. "run DCS directly, get into mission goto map, exit, attach dcs.log run Updater click later, get into mission goto map, exit, attach dcs.log. " I did the above and the map works in both instances. Here is the entry in the Autoupdate.cfg "launch": "bin-mt/DCS.exe" I ran the SP.exe and the map was not working just like the problem I had yesterday. I had been using the MT.exe shortcut, which I manually created and copied to my desktop a longtime ago,6months or more?. The only thing I can think is that after updating yesterday for the first time in 6 months from a Beta version that maybe it was messed up in the update process . I did run a repair yesterday after all of this happened and then went in the MT bin folder and made a desktop shortcut to the MT DCS.exe. Everything works fine now. It's still kksnowbears fault no matter what, but back to sleep everyone, sorry for the trouble. S!Blade<>< Edit: You assume wrongly kksnowbear. I have not changed any internal files within the DCS folder in years. I am and will continue to run DCS from the MT.exe shortcut as i have never had a problem with doing that. "It would mean my friend has somehow altered what Updater does, then when it did what it was told, the map problem shows up. He decides (wrongly) that the fix is to run the MT dcs.exe directly (even though that is based on advice in this very forum). "
  3. I have used your updater for I don't know how long and it always works flawlessly. Just wanted to say TY for providing this utility. Not sure I will upgrade as I am happy with the current version. Lol, old guy logic at work here. Anyway, Thank you Sir. S!Blade<><

  6. I have some questions please. Why is ED developing the FW190A-8 when they haven't even finished the kick starter P47 or Me262? Why are these two planes not top priority to complete the original kick starter WWII debacle? I supported ED and thanked them for a couple of years for picking up this mess and committing to finishing it, but here we are how many years later and still no P47 or Me262? I don't understand how that is and yet we have an FW190A-8 taking its first flights in sim by ED? Does anyone know why this is happening? S!Blade<><
  7. Edited OP, but I have an Asus PB278q 2560:1440 My PSU is about 7 years old but not to heavily used. Thanks to all who have shared information here. I think I am better off using what I have until I am ready to do a complete rebuild. Thanks again. S!Blade<><
  8. Need a little advice here gentlemen. I am quite aware that my system is in the outdated category, but I will not be trying a new build until next year most likely. So my question is: Would an EVGA GTX1080 8GB be worth me purchasing now and using until i do a new build? The physical dimensions of a 1080 will fit in my full tower case. I have PCIE 2.0 expansion slots in my Mobo. I am a little confused if I have the right power connectors to connect this GTX1080 to my power supply. From what I am reading, it should work. Could someone confirm this??? I am attaching the Mobo, CPU, Memory, PS and Monitor specs I have now. Any help and/or advice would be appreciated from some of you hardware Gurus out here. Any opinions on whether this purchase would help my performance even in this old system? Again, thanks in advance for any feedback. S!Blade<>< My Current System: MB =Asus M4A79T Deluxe CPU = AMD Phenom II 955 X4 Black Edition (running @ 3.4GB in my setup, no overclocking but Turbo mode enabled) Memory = Corsair Vengeance 4 x 4Gb sticks = 16GB total 1600 MHZ PS = Corsair 750w : The box says 4 x PCI-E 6 pin & 8 pin compatible GPU = EVGA GTX770 4GB Monitor = Asus PB278q 2560:1440

  10. MEH! Mods should be transparent, have blank avatars and remain silent unless it is absolutely necessary to input and receive no appreciation at any time. It is a thankless job, so lets keep it that way. This thread is a waste of time and space, please delete it and Ban Hammer the initiator for at least 1 month if not 2. I am completely serious. Happy New Year and a prosperous 2017. S!Blade<><

  16. Time to talk to the boss and get the OK. I tried my heels on the floor also and you could do it, but I would put my money on it that if you try full feet on pedals with a comfortable adjustment that you will never go back. Keep in mind that the Crosswinds are so incredibly sensitive and precise around the center position, there is no center detent bump, that there is no need to have your heels on the door to make those precise movements. There just is not a good enough way to explain with words how Milans' Crosswinds eclipse Saiteks ' and most other type of pedals I would imagine. Once you get the money together, it took me around 2 years to save and comitt, you will impatiently wait and wonder whether you made a good decision. Once you receive your Crosswinds you will know within less than 2 hours that you indeed made a wise investment that increases the emersion and enjoyment of flight simming as a whole. Can you tell I like my Crosswinds? Try them in ROF as they really shine in WWI Warbirds. Now if we could just get Milan to complete the engineering and start producing a high end Hotas, we flight simmers would be broke, but in Heaven on the earth.:megalol: S!Blade<><
  17. +1000000 Bring on the Ho 229!!!! Get it off the back burner and in production! Please???Pretty Please S!Blade<><
  18. I used the Saitek Flight Pedals with heels on the slide plates and liked that setup. It worked well and I was concerned about using the Crosswinds with my feet totally on the pedals. I thought, well I will work something out where I can use Heels on the floor with the Crosswinds. Now that I have the Crosswinds and have used them for a while I can honestly say that I like my feet totally on the pedals better. The Crosswinds are so adjustable on the angels and width spacing, toe brake angle and throw adjustment that I took maybe 30 minutes to play around with them and find a setup I liked and I have not changed them since. I think Milan is designing and intending to sell some foot plates like you are looking for, but I doubt I will ever buy them as the factory Crosswind foot plates are superb. I would suggest getting the Crosswinds and trying the original design as they are excellent in the current configuration. Sometimes you have to take a chance and try new designs. I sure am glad I did not pass over the Crosswinds for this reason because they are the best piece of Hardware in my kit now and I Love them, I wouldn't trade or sell them for anything else.:smilewink: S!Blade<><
  19. Told you so!!! :megalol: Another Satisfied, if not enthralled Crosswinds customer. Remember, you still have a RL and most likely a Wife that is jealous of all the attention your Crosswinds are getting. Hint, a Happy Wife = A Happy Virtual Pilots Life!:smilewink: Now off to fly the Mirage 2000c :pilotfly: S!Blade<><
  20. Does anyone know how to change the Font size of the FPS as displayed on screen with CTRL + Pause/Break ? I have 2560 x 1440 monitor now and it is very small. Any help will be appreciated. S!Blade<><
  21. Once calibrated and you are actually flying with them I will put my money on the fact that you will be overwhelmed by their precision and actual performance in flight. Enjoy! S!Blade<><
  22. HeHe! It is not hypnosis. A quality product which fulfills and exceeds its customers expectations will be rewarded by its customers testimonials of satisfaction and happiness with the product. I owned and used Saitek Flight pedals for more than 2 years. They are a mid level product which work satisfactorily and I had no problem with. Until I received my Crosswinds I didn't know what a high level set of rudder pedals performed like. Until you use a quality set of rudder pedals you will never know how deficient mid to low level pedals are. They do work, but their precision is far far below that of the Crosswinds. Just plugging them in and calibrating the Crosswinds I knew these were far more precise than a what I had been using. My first takeoff in the FW190 confirmed my impressions of the calibrating process. I saved my money for 2 years while keeping in touch with Milan and reading the positive testimonials before I purchased mine. If you want mediocre performance, keep using your Saitek and similar products, but if you want a precision product worth every penny of its asking price, then save your money and purchase a set of Crosswinds. The bonus is that you will get to correspond with Milan who is a gracious engineer, company owner and product distributor that will personally answer your correspondences. As I said before, I have not read of a dissatisfied customer yet. As a matter of fact, I have never read a review from an owner of Crosswinds that was not overly happy with the product they received in their Crosswinds. S!Blade<><:smilewink:
  23. Thank you Sir, this solved the error messages for me and the Mirage is installed in both 1.5 & 2.0. You are a Gentleman and a Scholar! S!Blade<><
  24. BOOOOOOOOO HISSSS HISSSSSSS!!!! :megalol: I would give my left nut most likely if they did a EFM(as well as possible) of the Gotha. Well, I would at least pay full price and it would be an early purchase or first day purchase for me. I for one want to see the Horton finished.:thumbup::thumbup: S!Blade<><
