  1. Strong survival instincts. I admire that! (c.) Riddick :-)))
  2. And how are You going to install the Steam client to run DCSW if there is no Internet connection? Just being paranoid ;-)
  3. I like the standalone version, because I can keep a backup copy on my external harddrive and reinstall almost immediately in case of a system failure. Maybe this is also possible with Steam, but I am not aware of that. This also solves the, unlikely, problem of no Internet connection. On the other hand - Steam has a return policy which I like - If You play a mosule for less than 2 hours You can return it for a refund - I don't think ED has such a policy and You can get stuck with a module which You do not like.
  4. I see the discounbts now, but no mention of the sale on the main ED shop page.
  5. I am sorry - what Winter sale? I can't find anything about it on the ED Web site...
  6. Hello! I am planning to get a new CPU today and I was wondering if anyone can explain to me what should I do so that I do not loose any unnecessary activations. I remember there was a point count for changing computer parts, when they summed up to a certain amount an new activation was required - is this the case with changing the CPU? Thank You!
  7. That's an excellent piece of advice - makes it much easier to figure out what to buy, thanks! :-) P.S. Did they remove the reputation system? I can't find the button to give it...
  8. Unfortunately, it appears it is not that easy: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3446166&postcount=8
  9. For reference - I have managed to bind the following compaigns bought from Steam to my E-Shop account: 1. Su-27: The Ultimate Argument Campaign 2. A-10C: Basic Flight Training Campaign 3. A-10C: Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign 4. A-10C: Operation Piercing Fury Campaign 5. A-10C: Enemy Within Campaign I hope this helps
  10. Thanks for all the help guys! A-10C: Enemy Within Campaign Now all I have to do is learn the Warthog and forget about my choppers :-)))
  11. Could You please point me to the exact part of the product Steam page where I can find this information? For example - after carefully reading the UH-1H: Argo Campaign page I have found no mention of the fact, that this product only works with the Steam version...
  12. Hello! I have tried to take advantage of the -50% sale and bought the following campaigns on Steam: 1. Mi-8MTV2: The Border Campaign 2. UH-1H: Argo Campaign 3. F-15C: The Georgian War Campaign 4. Su-27: The Final Argument Campaign Unfortunately, though, when I tried to get the CD key for these products to bind them to my nonSteam account I have only managed to do this for the Su-27: The Final Argument Campaign - no other campaigns are listed. I do understand, that some of the newer DCS products are no longer available for binding to the nonSteam account, but is there a list of products which still are? Thank You!
  13. I've been out of flying for a while, so I might have missed it - have they merged NTTR and Caucases yet? DCS 2.5?
  14. I recall, that when the Hawk was originally introduced into DCSW it only had a basic flight model and the developers promised, that an advanced flight model will be upcoming. After being away from the game for some time I would like to know if AFM is already available or not?
  15. Does DCSW use CUDA cores? Would buying an nVidia card in this case have any benefits over AMD?
  16. This is surprising - how fast people forget :-) Here are a couple of links I found: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117402&highlight=ATI+hit+FPS https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=110764&highlight=ATI+hit+FPS https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=110860&highlight=ATI+hit+FPS https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91284 As far as I recall, the problem was due to the fact, that AMD cards where geared up for providing more support to DirectX 11 (or 10, maybe) while nVidia provided more even support for legacy DirectX versions. Since, at that time, DCSW worked on DirectX 9, AMD cards failed to deliver, while nVidia provided the expected framerates. This is one of the problems EDGE was supposed to solve, since it works on DirectX 11. At least this is my understanding of what was explained by the moderators. I am not trying to start a holy war or anything - just trying to figure out if with the advent of EDGE it matters whether you run nVidia or AMD.
  17. BitMaster Here is some info I posted recently. But that is with my GTX 760. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185220
  18. I am thinking of upgrading my current videocard (nVidia GTX 760) to either nVidia 1060 or ATI (AMD) RX 480, however, prior to EDGE, ATI cards suffered greatly in DCSW. Has this problem been solved now with EDGE? And secondly, how much VRAM can DCSW utilize, if playing on 1920x1080 resolution?
  19. It could very well be, that I'm a slowpoke, but I would like to share my findings: I compared running DCSW on Windows 7 and Windows 10 using FRAPS with identical options. Ryzen 1700@Default Ram 1866 Windows 7 2017-03-23 21:58:10 - DCS Frames: 4980 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 83.000 - Min: 68 - Max: 96 Windows 10 2017-03-27 20:59:25 - DCS Frames: 5373 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 89.550 - Min: 69 - Max: 105 A nice increase, though minimal for Min. Ryzen 1700@3.7 Ram 2666 Windows 7 2017-03-25 13:40:05 - DCS Frames: 5277 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 87.950 - Min: 70 - Max: 107 Windows 10 2017-03-27 21:17:23 - DCS Frames: 5605 - Time: 60000ms - Avg: 93.417 - Min: 73 - Max: 117 The same increase, though Min got a bit of a boost. In a nutshell - simply moving from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (which I was forced to do, since my new Samsung SM961 SSD refused to work under Windows 7) resulted in a nice FPS increase in DCSW :-) I'd say keep on going Microsoft! :-) P.S. Windows 7 was running on a Samsung 840 Pro 128Gb SSD, Windows 10 was on a Samsung SM961 256Gb, hopefully this isn't the case? The rest of the hardware is identical.
