Wow, I appreciate you trying to speak english, but stick to it, you litterally raped my language here :megalol: If you're talking about the tank wall, well, just like everything else, with 3D tools. Frenchpack V3 will be released this week. There are many, many, many additions to V2 including some very and singular capabilities.

Actually it wouldn't break so much immersion, IRL gazelle pilots use Ipads lol

Hi guys, more than words, a video is better :) And you can get two ! So basically, the Smoke screen is both a smoke rocket system hardcoded by myself and a script which makes the ENI to loose track of the "Smoker" by Migow ! Still WIP, there are many things to improve but hey, did you ever see such kind of thing on DCS ? :) Once it works flawlessly, we will attempt creating an "AI friendly" version, allowing the AI to do the exact same thing by its own, and then release it to public :) AH, last thing, the smoke screen too disallows you to lock at the tank behind it. If you're for example in Kamov, your optic will lock on the smoke ;) Nicolas

Yep. Spending 1000 h on a mod is not to be underestimated. Sharing it is nothing else than a generous action. On my side I have my own squad, if I don't want to share something here, I use it in my squad. If I share it and that it dies, my best answer is : learn how to mod and make yours. I don't have any duty toward anyone, I'm already nice enough to share my work for free while I could spend this time to earn money. On my side this is exactly because of this kind of feeling, where people here think that they "deserve" what I give them and that I owe them something, that I won't be sharing any of my other creation on this section (And god knows that I have many). Call this the way you want, truth is that at the end of the day : I spend lot of time on producing something, you 5 minutes to download it. By thinking like this, you simply loose talented people, but on our side, we've got our discords/websties/TS/Mumble and we keep making fun things in our cave. And we have fun. That's the main point of modding : have fun. People who want to put financial consideration in it, or who think that we owe them something once we released the stuff simply obtain that loads of talented modders, yesterday as today, leave this place and do their stuff on their side, for themselves. Because no, there is no pride in getting our mod downloaded, we're simply happy to get people to have fun with our creations. We've got lifes aside where we have many more valuable occasions to be proud. And this is a reason not to be neglicted which explains why some very famous modders don't appear here anymore ;) Modders are not 3rd parties or ED devs. We don't get paid for what we do. We're generous, you're not our customers, you're nothing else than lucky children. And there is only one way to act when a lucky child makes his whim. Deal with it :) And no, we are not going to share models as they are ours and some very high poly ones could be sold at high price on 3D markets. Nicolas

Ze Dim' New Static Pack
dimitriov replied to dimitriov's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I'm focusing my efforts right now on the star wars modpack, as I know that some pack modders decided to rework their to get them 2.5.5 compatible. So I'll stay on this version for few weeks. Nicolas -

Yup why not but provide me photos. For the APA and other Ural stuff the VP models still work fine and are very good. -

C:\Users\xxx\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech\Ze Dim' New Static Pack With inside the last folder all the .lua Could you please tell me if you have tents etc. They should be in statics, structures "FARP Tent H" etc etc For the vehicles, they are not only statics, put an AI vehicle in the armor section, you should get "DIM' Kamikaze/toyota" etc. If you don't get them, you didn't install the pack properly. -

Hzve you checked in the armor category ? -
Yup absolutely, the data-link accuracy is limited by the PrPNK INU one, and it is about 50m in best scenario.

VP-Airfield Equipment 0.8.2 beta
dimitriov replied to Hawkeye60's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Don't worry too much much, if the DC3 still works, you've got at least 5 years in front of you before the same thing happens again. ED is not going to update its 2000 EDM files every week ;) -
@3WA, careful. In flight director mode you will see a bank reference appear, which can be modified when using the TRIM. This is due to the fact that in helicopter, you want to work with specific banks : this amount of collective + this bank = this speed. Learning to fly an helicopter you learn its "reference banks", where you know that with this amount of torque plus this bank, you get for example 120 km/h, or 150 km/h and +5 m/sec of climb rate etc etc etc. Knowing them allows you to fly very safely even in low visibility situations. If you see "vertical pilars" going from the bank indicators, then it is because you have your altitude hold autopilot engaged, and so the size of the pilar indicates you if you're below or above the memorized altitude and how much. You want to use flight director mode for rockets pass for example. The Kamov SAS have a "compensation" function when shooting rockets, I'm sure you see what I mean : the helicopter is going to raise quite brutally its nose. It is not the rockets recoil, it's the SAS which do something tricky I never really understood the purpose of (except not being accurate). Enabling the flight director when shooting rockets will disable this effect, allowing you to shoot all your rockets without moving at all. A nice way to see this SAS effect in action is simply to shoot all your rockets, then once empty, push again on the fire button. Even without rockets to shoot, the helicopter will brutally raise its nose. @Harlikwin For the shkval reset it is normal. Your shkval is nothing else than a peripheral, like your mouse on a computer or your screen. Every system you see in the Kamov, PVI-800, PRTZ etc are peripherals wich are plug in the main PrPNK computer. So it is wrong for example to consider that the PVI-800 is the INU system. The PVI-800 ios nothing else than a keyboard you use to get datas in the PrPNK. So this computer features an inertial navigation unit (INU), which allows you to know your own coordinates, use autopilot features, memorize coordinates via the shkval... But an INU is nothing else than a blind mechanic system, as you fly across the map, it is going to make some little approximations, mistakes, which, once cumulated, are going to cause even bigger mistakes, and so after several hundreds kilometers, you will get, depending on your aircraft and its INU quality, between 2 and 20 km of error. To avoid this issue and get it as accurate as possible, the INU in the PrPNK gets reset by the satellite datas from the Abris every 300 seconds (or is it 600, I never remember). When it gets reset, you will see the characteristic "old cathodic TV image" on your shkval. The very nice consequence of this is that your INU never needs to be manually reset with new reference coordinates and will be nearly as accurate as if it was a GPS. Such combination is extensively used on liners for example because when you have to cross the whole Atlantic, you don't want to end with a 50 km error ;) You can find the countdown of this reset in the Abris. Main menu/CTRL/K-041 if my memory is exact. Nicolas

Erf. There is nothing I can do for help if you only have the EDM :( -
Currently they don't see behind trees. But AI keeps your position in memory for some seconds. So if you hide, and after 2 seconds peek out from your tree, then he will get your ass. AAA radar don't have the minimal altitude. Only radar SAM like SA-8, 6, 11, 15....... Tunguska don't have the minimal altitude either. Actually on DCS SAM are a bit well... Too much. In the French ALAT they have a 1981 Sa-8 for testing. It wasn't able to detect a Gazelle from 2000 m.

Well, actually, I don't know for the Ka-52 optics. But you have to see that the real shkval is an old system. I would be very surprised that it would be able to track a target from more than 6 km. Is it modeled accurately ? Well if it was, you would have loads of issues using it because of how luminosity variates during the day. There would be parasites all across the screen if it's too dark, and night would look like a winter storm ^^ So this part... Well, I really don't know and don't ask them too much because if they take it seriously you're going to get the real thing. Question is : Do you really want to get the real made in CCCP electronic system from 1985 ? ^^ So we would need for a FLIR. But well, sincerely on this, not even on a realistic or not way of thinking, I'm well used to the Shkval limitations so it doesn't disturb be a lot. Still understand that it is not the case for everyone. But I analyse your issues with air targets as a lack of practice because during my flight "career" in PVP I shot down many many helicopters, fighters, CAS planes. One example is an F-15C, he missed me on the first pass, went above me, I took 30 degrees pitch, locked, shot 2 vikhrs which hit him right before I started falling backward. Incredibly, he was intact... until I saw him crash, I killed his pilot ^^ The whole action lasted for about 10 seconds. You have to train to be able to react, as fast as this without mistake, this is the real point I think. I train often for such thing, even asking to my squad fighters pilot to fight me. I spend most of the fight time having a lock on them, which is not so simple on mach 1 Mirage 6 km away. So well, IMO, for this, train. Still a FLIR would indeed be a nice addition. Oh my god but what am I saying ? IT WOULDN'T BE REALISTIC BECAUSE I DIDN'T SEE IT ON GOOGLE ! SATAN ! :p Nicolas
