  1. God isnt it just an alpha issue? If you are pulling g's you are loading the aircraft, when you try to roll you can see there will be resistance. If i want to roll the 21 i just bunt, unload the aircraft, and roll. That's surely how it's done? How aware are you of your g load? Your trim? In a simulator these things can become more subtle, look down the nose of the aircraft and see what it's doing.
  2. And myself, after a few minutes fps dropped to about 3, then 0...... Haven't had that since i was trying to play dcs on a potato.
  3. Patch came out it worked, then just today got a MiG21 activation thing-amee-bob. The activation thing hung as well, exited, messed around a bit and got it working. Not much of a beta tester am i?
  4. So for a few patches now it's been snafu. No response from tab and shft tab etc. Sometimes it works early on when i join a server, but soon after and vast majority of the time it does not work. Now when i crash at 1200kmhr into a wall i can't say "I'm Alright!".
  5. So loading up dcs since new patch, the loading bar is stuck on 5%. :(
  6. :) Always good to look back on rather than....on lol. One sunny afternoon myself and a fellow pilot were operating our cessna on floats. We had friends out on the lake and we wanted to buzz em. Well i was in the right seat and basically an observer, which can be a little disconcerting if your used to the left seat alone. So anyways off we go, and as we approach our friends, the pilot in command starts banking and turning like a demon.... The ball will spend precious few moments even remotely center from here on in... He brings it hard to the left, throwing it around like a kite, we pass are pals on the boat. Ok he decides to land..... So down we come. He wants to get it on the water, but we have too much airspeed. But down he goes! Sht, we have atleast 60knots and he bounces it, so up we come but this is apparently unacceptable to the pic, so he shoves the nose forward... So we hit left float first at speed slightly nose low. The plane lurches hard to the left, i just remember being in the presence of a serious situation, my mind was luckily calm and composed.."Ok check seat belt, ok, lock open door, ok ready for impact" The right wing came within inches of the water, close to catwheeling. Fk me, i got out on the float and had a ciggarette. They had a journalist on the boat with our friends, and were video'ing our flight. As we hit the water the cameraman screamed and dropped the camera! I hate the right seat.
  7. Hoping as always for a MiG23! I've seen footage of one of these turning on a penny, full burners and straight wingsweep. This thing was a performer.
  8. Random post: Is it possible to stop the use of F10, so we have to navigate ourselves? I think F10 gets in the way of the experience like F5 does.
  9. I think it's basic tech, the new maps are dynamically loaded/rendered, i wonder if the terrain in the caucaususus is loaded brute force method, in large blocks? Very basic, so i think it's an old dx9 thing, like a cheap way to get it looking 'good'. It's sort of reminiscent of that.
  10. I had this situation in an Aeronca Champ, scary situation to find you dont have stick movement(or just retarded movement). After that i made sure i did a controls check every time. Cargo was impinging upon the stick 'hub' in the back seat. Just a thin aluminum cover. With tiny little screws.. Horrible feeling :|
  11. Yeah it's purdy scary
  12. The graphics seem to opt for a fuzzy, warm look that seems like a technique from dx9 days. It's as though every day in DCS is hazy and 'serene', like the magic hour. When the wind blows, when the makeup of the air changes, the sky looks different. On a windy morning it may look a cold electric blue, a calm hazy day more like dcs. Every day in DCS feels calm and hazy, it's usually a treat for a pilot but lets have some fierce stark blue skies and some figid wind-torn seas :pilotfly:
  13. http://atimes.com/2016/04/russias-aircraft-carrier-set-for-a-massive-upgrade-the-lethal-mig-29k/
  14. So the Kuznetsov is steaming to the med, and there are MiG29K's onboard...? Always always wanted a MiG29K :)
  15. Just turn upside down when engaging eheh eh....
  16. Wow loads of stat related hate going on. I'm sorry i started the downward slide in the thread. So i'd like to first say... Great stats winchester! Pretty impressive. I checked my 104th stats last night and what i remember is; Kills 28, deaths 31. Im actually happy about that, i could be more careful and turn for home when i know i should, but i always turn back in for one last dance lol. I've fired 69 R27Er's and hit with about 20 or so. Fired 2 Amraams ( my most proudest stat :) ) Hehe
  17. Thanks for all the comments :)
  18. Yes he was at fault, though the MiG 21 with 1500 Litres of fuel and emergency burner, i think may be superior to the F15 in the turning fight, at slow speed. I don't fly the F15 much so not sure.
  19. Just want to share because im so proud; So on the 104th server, i go in low, using rwr and eyeballs to get a feel for what's going on, maneuvering near bullseye, after about 20 minutes , boom an f15 goes wizzing by.. Well we got into a turning fight, i put on the emergency burners and turned as best i could, the red stall lights flickering. We turned and we turned, and as my heart beat faster the f15 started coming around, and finally he could turn no more... I kept it coming around as he went up into the vertical, i followed and kept it from stalling,, backdown again for some more turns, i was sweating at this point lol. Anyways finally caught up with him, the bis was turning like a demon! :) Love it. Put him in the pipper and foxed my ir's, but they went wide, up again into the vertical we went, this time i switched to radar, and put him in the cross hairs, spamming the lock button....finally got a tone and foxed 1 radar... boom! Down he goes :) So proud :pilotfly:
  20. Is the 104th going to update soon? Cheers.
  21. Spamraam power lol :) (Peace Dog)
  22. Sure, but the FM may 'degrade' as it intercepts reality. I actually had a lot of success with it the other day, so i'm like....hmmm..
  23. Is not so great after all? That's my impression after flying it in DCS. Lot's of energy bleed and not enough thrust. I read somewhere that an F15/F16 pilot after hearing so much good about it, got to fly it and was most un-impressed with it. Low thrust and energy bleed is a bad combination for a fighter.
  24. If link doesnt work name of video is; Radar Jamming: "Defensive Electronic Countermeasures" May 1962 US Navy Training Film
