  1. Yes, I just want them not to shoot me. Are static objects destructible? Will they take the same kind of damage as if they were a ground vehicle group? Or how do I turn off their AI at the mission start? I'm also not certain where to change their ROE?
  2. It's CTRL+B and SHIFT+B, in the controls they are labeled as "HOTAS Speed Break Switch Aft" and "HOTAS Speed Break Switch Forward" The manual is located here: \DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Doc
  3. Is there a way to disable AI on ground units in the mission editor for some quick practice?
  4. Nah, that can't be right... if you look at the TGA files they are all white, so the color must be applied elsewhere... edit: There's a materials.lua file that looks like it defines materials (colours) for a whole bunch of stuff, like this: I didn't go through the whole file, but I already see "MFCD_GREEN" and "MFCD_RED". I tried changing "MFCD_GREEN" to Fuchsia (that's like purple) and it seems to be working, see my screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/cVdgx9d.jpg So it looks like you should be able to change up the colours on the MFCD and a whole bunch elsewhere to whatever you want. bofhlusr, do you know how to use HEX colour codes? If not let me know and I can help explain to you how to set these up to whatever coloursyou want. The file is located at \DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts
  5. Speaking of which, I don't remember where but I read that leaving it on for too long can cause it to overheat, but when I watch any kind of tutorials there is no mention ever of turning it off until you are shutting down. Do you need to? Can it really cause any problems in the DCS simulation?
  6. Is there a way to increase the rate of TGP A-A Slew rate? I know I can change it in the Stat page under "THRTL" on the left MFCD, but that also affects the A-G slew rate, and it also doesn't help much. The problem being that it slews so very slowly when in A-A that it's impossible to use it
  7. Can anyone suggest a method how to bind a slider control on my X52 Throttle to the speed break? Is that possible? If I try in the game, there is no axis control for the speed break, is there any clever way to use the X52 programming profile to accomplish something like that?
  8. Is there any possibility of making the HUD font larger? It's a bit hard for my old eyes to view some of the numbers, especially the ones by the compass bar.
  9. Hi, I hope this is where I can ask quick general questions? I am going through learning the start-up procedure, and can't figure out why the EAC switch doesn't work for me. If I try to flip it, it just flips right back and does not stay on. What would cause it to behave like that?
  10. Ohhh I see, I completely misunderstood it then. Thanks for explaining that!
  11. Hey guys, been a while since I simmed anything, and now I'm returning to DCS. I can see in the downloads on the new website (nice upgrade by the way!) that there is DCS 1.5 and DCS 2.0 Open Alpha. Is 2.0 Open Alpha our long-awaited Nevada map? And why does it say Open Alpha, is it not complete? In that case, should I just get 1.5 and fly on the old map or is 2.0 already very useable?
  12. Thanks, worked like a charm! Didn't have to open it, actually. I just greased a bit the stick under the spring, under the little plate right under the spring. I just hope that grease doesn't destroy the plastic haha.
  13. Thanks, that is what I was thinking of doing as well. But how do I apply it? Do I just put a few drops under the spring and move the stick around and hope for the best?
  14. I've looked all over the internet about this issue, and have found many mods, but nothing to address this issue. I must have stored my joystick badly somehow or something, because after not using it for a while I got it out and now when I move the stick to the right, it sticks and doesn't move unless I apply more pressure than usual, at which point I can feel it grind as it moves. It feels as if something is rusted or if something is in the way. However the stick moves perfect when moving left, up or down. And if I first move it up or down and then move it to the right, there is no issue. Only if I move it to the right from center position there is grinding, and requires good amount of force (so much force that if I don't hold the base of the stick with my other hand, it will tip over the base rather than move). Can anyone suggest what I should do to fix it? I've seen some videos that show the unscrewed bottom part of the stick, but I don't think that will be enough for me if I need to open it up and take a look at what might be the problem, I think I need to open up the part where the stick sits in the middle, but haven't been able to find any detailed disassemblies of that part.
  15. Welp, I always did like the sound of German, I guess I might as well start learning it now :P haha
  16. Has anyone read the book "Stick and Rudder" by Wolfgang Langewiesche? Is there an equivalent book for flying helicopters?
  17. It is? What if a crew member is injured/unconcious and is unable to eject themselves?
  18. I find target acquisition in the Su-25T to be a joke compared to the A-10C.
  19. This really stumbles a lot of people. Just about everyone, I guess. The problem is that trim reset is listed in the controls. There is no reason to believe that it is not supposed to work - why is it listed in the controls then? I think this SHOULD be a bug. Not that trim reset doesn't work, but that it's listed in the controls.
  20. Ah, good idea! For anyone else interested, the sound file is Avionics_AC_400Hz.wav located in DCS World\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Cockpits
