  3. I have been having this issue for a long time now, quite frustrating... From what I recall, this started with MT for me. I was on a Rift S at the time, but it's also been doing it with the Quest 3 that I'm using. The only solution that fixes it temporarily is to go into passthrough and back out, passthrough and alt-tab, or when it gets really bad and those won't do it, taking the headset off and putting it back on a few minutes later. Random, but I've also noticed that when I'm in the F10 map, if there's any wind in the mission, I can see the trees moving with the wind... Not sure if it's of any relevance, but that's a lot of trees moving around in the F10 map when you go into it. The issue was also acknowledged in this thread:
  4. I've been having this problem for a while now too, although lessened with 2.9 and tweaking my settings a bit. The latest culprit appears to be the F-15E at random, occasionally the Apache, F-14 when attempting to land on the boat, and when flames appear (destroyed buildings), with VRAM significantly spiking requiring an Alt-Tab to calm it down. Otherwise 2.9 has been running extremely smooth for me.
  5. I got mine last Thursday, and I have to say, I'm rather disappointed with the build quality compared to the PTO 1... I immediately noticed that the parking switch didn't function as demonstrated in their promotional video, but even some of the other switches / levers feel toy like (gear, hook, and wing fold). These things I can live with, just would have been nice to have more metal in the build opposed to plastic, especially with the handles. The worst part was when screwing the bolt into the embedded nut at the back (to mount to a plate), the nut completely snapped in half... Wasn't being over tightened at all. I submitted a ticket, and after politely going back and forth with support, their only solution is to use one of the other mounting methods, which isn't ideal considering the layout of my pit.
  6. Hey folks, I wanted to share my endeavor with anyone who might be interested in ideas for putting together a fairly easy ejection handle for their cockpit. I was inspired by "Troll" on the Mudspike forums (https://forums.mudspike.com/t/eject-eject-eject/2985) and began designing an ejection handle that would offer some physical resistance. I initially put together a programmable 3 Key Macropad Keyboard as a side ejection handle (until I could find a better solution), and then went down the rabbit hole of tinkering. This is the very first barebones iteration: While this had worked as a temporary solution by mounting it to the side of a mounting plate beside my chair, I began drafting different designs and doing some research online that would suit my needs for a center mounted pull to eject handle. Through some trial and error obtaining different components and conducting painstaking measurements, I finally came up with a simple and effective ejection handle. Completion of the design: Mounted and ready: Two plastic plates were created (courtesy of the wife) using her 3D printer. One was to attach the bolts together, acting as an elevating plate that activates the keyboard when it is raised by pulling the handle up, and a simple rectangular box to fit into the space above the upside down keyboard. The "Top Plate" fit after removing some plastic pieces on the inside of the housing unit at the back. Holes were drilled through the back of the housing unit so that it could be mounted to the Flight Seat, with another hole drilled through the bottom for the USB cord. By far, I would say getting the holes of the "bottom bolt plate" just right to align with the holes in the top of the housing unit through the flanged bearings was the most difficult part. If you're using a 3D printer, I would highly recommend printing some small thin plates with the holes in them before printing the full scale plate to ensure a proper fit (and save on filament). If the holes in the plate and top of the housing do not align, the bolts become slightly angled and hard to move further up or down. The spacing I have between the holes at the top where the tubing connects to the bolts is 1 1/16" as indicated on the sticky note as well. I've included a list of easily procurable items from Amazon and other sources that helped me put this all together. Some of these items may be found locally, such as the Trailer Leaf Springs which I found at a nearby trailer shop. Programmable Controller - 3 Key Macropad Keyboard: Easily create a macro that mimics CTRL E 3x by downloading the FootSwitch (PCSensor) software Housing - LeMotech Electrical Box: Variety of sized boxes to suit your needs to house the components 4.7 x 4.7 x 3.5" (120 x 120 x 90 mm) Handle - Silicone Tubing Hose: Durable, yet flexible enough to pull on 3/8" ID 9/16" OD 8' Feet Long Handle Cover - Braided Sleeving: Used for esthetic over the tubing with a variety of color options 3/8" Diameter 25' Feet Long Safety Stripe Handle Connector - EVIL ENERGY 6AN Straight Fitting (x2): Connects the tubing to the Shackle Bolts Flanged Sleeve Bearings (x2): To guide the bolts straight down 14mm x 16mm x 12mm Shackle Bolt - Trailer Leaf Spring Shackle Bolts (x2): Connects the tubing and plate that elevates to touch the keyboard 9/16" -18 X 3-1/2" Compression Spring (x2): For physical resistance during activation, but returns to its deactivated position once it's let go 3-1/4" x 13/16" Hope this helps anyone that is looking for some options in creating a fully functional ejection seat handle!
  7. Absolutely loving the new Copy Settings in the Mission Editor, it's made life so much easier for setting specific payloads and certain properties between aircraft. One super time consuming aspect to the mission editor, especially when you have a plethora of aircraft in the mission, is placing waypoints. With the newly added Copy Settings, I would love to see the ability to copy a units waypoints to other aircraft, rather than having to individually place them for each group. I've attached a screenshot of what this could potentially look like in the Copy Settings section.
  8. @Sarge55 I'm happy it's not just me than, lol! I saw it previously on a GR video as well, prior to releasing EA. I tried doing some digging to see if I can do an inflight update to the INS, but I haven't been able to find any information elsewhere. When checking the manual (pg: 131, UFC), a note states "NOTE: INS update is not implemented in the current version of the module."
  9. I've been having an issue similar to the OP as well, but mine feels more like INS drift as the waypoints become displaced by a few hundred feet when slewing to them. Happens about 45 mins after takeoff. This was after doing both a Stored Heading, and manual GC alignment. I can't seem to find the setting you mentioned in the options for "always aligned" though, unless I'm just blind? In the ME, I have "Cold Aircraft needs GC Alignment" ticked.

  12. Hey folks, I'm looking for input with a dilemma I'm having, here are the particulars. Current build from 2018: Mobo: EVGA Z370 FTW CPU: i7-8700k GPU: EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW RAM: Corsair Vengeance 64gb 3200mhz PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750w P2 Storage: Samsung 970 Pro 2TB VR: Rift S I usually go all out and buy a whole new PC every 10 years, with a few upgrades in between, so I'm looking to stretch my current build out as far as I can. Unfortunately, my biggest limiting factor is keeping the Z370 and i7-8700k (otherwise I'd end up having to build a whole new PC), while trying to find a suitable (and worthy) successor for my GTX 1080ti. I've done as much research as I can, and I'm aware I will not be getting the full potential out of a new GPU due to the CPU being a limiting factor with bottlenecking. So far, I've been looking at an RTX 3090ti (which are extremely over priced, hard to find, and will require a new Power Supply), and an RTX 4070ti (much cheaper, in stock, will work with current PSU). I like the idea of the 3090ti at 24gb of VRAM, but I'm not sure that 24gb would go very far. Ultimately, I'm hoping to find a reasonable and balanced solution for a GPU that would hold me over for the next 4-5 years while working well with an i7-8700k. Another reason I'm trying to max out my current specs is to support the Quest 3, once I know more about the specs when it releases, if it will even work (but these might just be high hopes). Thoughts?
  13. After neglecting the Harrier for a while, I decided to do some re-familiarization today with the recent updates. Had the exact same issue. After putting in map markers labeled #TP1, 2, 3, etc and trying to transfer them using Right Shift - Right Alt - 8, nothing happens. Double checked keybindings, process, and did everything correctly.
  14. I've been playing a mission set in 1992 and noticed the CCIP line issue as well, tried running my INS strictly on NAV and no joy. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat and nothing seems to correct it. Hopefully ED can push a fix for this in the future. In the mean time I've left bombing to the Cat.
  15. Hey everyone, Thought I'd share my flight setup for DCS. I started building on this project last year when I bought a new house with my wife. As I also play a variety of other games, and usually switch between different aircraft in DCS, I needed something that was both functional and non-intrusive. My wife's desk is to the left of mine where she plays games as well, including DCS when we occasionally fly together. I'd have made a permanent set-up in her space, but I think being able to game together is a reasonable trade-off! The current setup includes a Koolertron Keyboard that I use as a UFC, and the Monstertech mount for the stick make it easy to move it over to the side for the Viper. When building this setup, it was made to be VR friendly. Unstowed Without Chair: Unstowed With Chair: Closeup of peripherals: The WinWing Take-Off panel can be swiveled inwards to avoid being in the way of the chair when I'm not flying. Stowed: Coming up, I'm looking to get a TekCreations armament switch that I can place beside the left MDF, and I may try to find a better solution for the throttle (maybe something that enables me to slide it out). Hopefully this gives some people additional ideas for a stowable setup. Thanks everyone!

  17. I just installed the Open Beta update last night and this issue is plaguing me now... I've tried uninstalling the F-14, running repairs, and the issue persists. UPDATE (for anyone having a similar issue): Figured it out, Malwarebytes was blocking certain files! Once I whitelisted my DCS directory, the problem went away! :megalol:
  18. Thank goodness I'm not alone! This issue has been plaguing me for over a week now, and I couldn't tell if it was either the Oculus update to 19.0 or if it was DCS 2.5.6.52437 Open Beta. It's completely unplayable in missions during night time or dawn/dusk conditions, as the guardian notice pops up frequently, kicking me in to passthrough with the notice "play area not found." I found that I get frequent studders as well, which throws the view outside of the cockpit. Often enough, when these studders happen, it'll give me the issue again where I'm kicked out into passthrough to set up guardian again. I just tested the exact same mission, but set the time at 0800hrs, and it only kicked me into passthrough once, then it was fine. The only solution for myselt at the moment is to only play missions that are set during the day.

  20. Hi everyone, I just ran into a problem after saving and attempting to load a mission I've been working on... Never had this happen before, but now I'm unable to even edit the mission or load it at all. The error I received was: Error loading mission "C:\Users\Adrian\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions\Caucasus\Chemical Reaction.miz": [string "mission = ..."]:13175: '}' expected (to close '{' at line 2) near '['I've attached a copy of the mission and a screenshot of the error. When this error occurred, I believe it was right after modifying a trigger, deleting an entry. If someone can have a look, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks, Adrian Chemical Reaction.miz
  21. One of the biggest questions I have regarding the F-14 using the Super Carrier DLC is the RIO position... What if the pilot has the DLC, but the RIO does not? I'm sure this is something that'll be considered, hopefully sooner rather than later. :thumbup:

I started to work on doing that, but ran into a bit of an issue where I would switch from one profile to the next, and it would sometimes give some odd bugs, like loading the stick bindings into the throttle, or just removing all stick bindings, in these cases I had to restart the game (pain in the @$$ in VR). I've started to use the F/A-18 stick for pretty much all aircraft except the A-10. When the F-16 comes out, I should probably have a new base to slap the Warthog on to.
  23. Yeah, when I can get some money together (and perhaps get a bigger house), I think I want to try Virpil out. I hear outstanding things! Then I won't have to worry about it, already started thinking of the damage that could be done over time switching the grip back and forth on the TM base.
  24. I tinkered around with it a bit tonight, making two separate profiles that I could switch between. It works, until it doesn't... :lol: This is why I usually don't create profiles for mapping in DCS, just bind what I need for each module, and backup the config folder. Half the time it was erasing bindings until I restarted the game, or it would load the profile buttons and overwrite the throttle... I think the easiest solution will be to use the Warthog Stick for the A-10 and F-16, and use the F/A-18 stick for everything else and just keep them separate. Was on the hook about Target, but couldn't bring myself to using it, just feels like another added step and another program running in the background that I need to remember to turn on, but that's a personal preference, and sadly starting with Saitek/Madcatz years ago and using their "software" scarred me for life. I have to admit though, I am really quite satisfied with this Thrustmaster product, pricey, but definitely worth it! Closely matches the AV-8B which I had a blast in tonight, and it actually works really well when I tried it in the Huey. Now where's that F-15E? Thanks for the responses and input, Drakoz!
  25. Hey Drakoz, Firmware was the first thing I did, but after I had already put the F18 Grip on the base, did a reinstall with the A10 stick back on it, same thing. Similar to what imacken mentioned in his post here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3993473&postcount=31 I find that regardless of which stick is on the base, they utilize the exact same keybinds as per button number. This would become problematic if I wanted to use two different stick bindings for one aircraft, rather than constantly switching out the stick to avoid unnecessary wear and tear. I'm mainly playing around with some ideas, and seeing what other methods people are using to adapt. The easiest way I could think of would just be to buy an additional base.
