  1. Is there a particular reason why the Su-35 wouldn't be fitted with the same radar if it has to compete in an export market with planes like the Super Hornet that have AESA?
  2. So the new one still doesn't have AESA? Do any Russia planes have AESA?
  3. AFAIK, it would be physically impossible to build a reliable air defense system based only on SAMs. But I don't think Australia is only looking for air defense, are they? They want a plane that can make up for the F-111 I think. There's not really a plane out there that can do that though.
  4. Its been a bad couple of months for the Air Force. At least the pilots are ok.
  5. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/02/20/jetcrash/index.html?eref=rss_topstories Two more F-15's went down today :( Hope the pilots are ok.
  6. So what are the specs for this version? Or, for that matter, what were the specs of the old version? Was the old one just a relabeled Su-37?
  7. That was the Su-35's first flight? I thought the -35 had been around for while now, it was just that the VVS hadn't purchased any.
  8. Well, at least the 15E's are ok, and hopefully enough of the others cleared to fly are C models that can be upgraded with all of the Golden Eagle stuff.
  9. So what do these groundings do to the Golden Eagle program?
  10. Update to Bear Rising coming soon?
  11. It didn't show them firing the Hawk missiles though, how do we know that they didn't just hang the missiles there as propaganda?
  12. I'm by no means an expert, but IIRC, the ET is an IR guided missile, so it does not need radar to track, and the target should not know its coming unless he sees the missile.
  13. mmmm, plane porn :D
  14. These are a couple of pictures I took at a local air show. They're not very good since there were taken by an 18 year old with his mom's Kodak EasyShare camera, and unfortunately all of the shots of the Blue Angels flying around were super blurry. Anyway, these are the ones that you can tell what they are pictures of: These are a couple of pictures I took at a local air show: http://s223.photobucket.com/albums/dd193/narboza22/ Also, one of the Blue Angels did what looked almost like a Cobra at the end of a high AoA pass, except that he was still moving a little bit. I didn't remember that happening last time I saw them. Are US planes now allowed to do that at air shows and they didn't used to?
  15. That's my local news station :D
  16. For the carrier part, put the carrier somewhere, then put your plane on top of it, and change the waypoint setting to Take Off. It should change your plane's icon. Same thing for landing: put a waypoint on the carrier, then change the WP setting to Landing, and the icon should change.
  17. What's the problem with Vista? It runs all of my games fine for me.
  18. I think that was already posted. Take the planes out on the ground.
  19. What was the SR-71's competitor? The model looks great
  20. lol, this is the most creative way of asking for AFM for more aircrafts that I've seen
  21. I haven't used a C2D, but I just got a Q6600 and it is godly compared to my old AMD 3000+. I can't imagine how a C2D could perform noticeably better that my Q6600.
  22. That's a cool looking Mig-29 :)
  23. So its just like the F-22?
  24. Lock On doesn't have a clickable cockpit pit yet, but it will when Black Shark comes out, at least for the helicopter.
