  1. i don't know if this is relevant, but i read (on the boeing website IIRC) that the F-18G was having trouble because it was jamming itself.
  2. nice. reminds me of the iranian F-14's equipped with SAMs.
  3. thank you :)
  4. what part of the map is that cruise ship in?
  5. well, if you were shooting at me, it would hit me regardless, but that's another story. from how i understand the Shkval, it makes enough noise that you would instantly know its not a normal fish coming at you, and you would use whatever tactics you know to beat a super-cavitation torp :)
  6. i'd think that being under water creates a little bit more drag on the guide wire, than say the wire on a TOW how so? if for example, someone jumped you in your F-15 in a way that you weren't expecting or hadn't seen before, are you just going to sit there? i would guess that you would do whatever you usually do to dodge the missile wouldn't you? i'd say the same would go for the sub captain.:)
  7. i thought this guy brought up some valid points, i'm not sure about supersonic dart guns and loud speakers sending out shock waves to kill torpedoes, but i have to agree with him about the Shkval
  8. ok, thats what i thought, but i wasn't sure.
  9. ok, in the movie stealth, which i know is NOT realistic, the UCAV shoots down a russian air to air missile with his own missile. i didn't think was realistic/practical/feasible/whatever word you want to use. but, i was just playing a mission, and i was going nose to nose with a Su-33 about 15nm away, and every time he fired a missile at me, my aim-9's would lock on to and i got everyone of them until i ran out of missiles. is this realistic?
  10. ^ lol, nice. i could see that beating up on raptors and eurofighters.
  11. grrrrr, it must be since its the middle of the night and i am barely awake, but you had my hopes up for a second, and then you mercilessly squashed them
  12. ya, happy new years guys :)
  13. i agree with d-scythe, it looks like some of the lockheed designs on this page with canards: http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/planes/q0021a.shtml
  14. i'll take the raptor or typhoon over any photoshopped J-10/F-22 any day.
  15. uhhh, nuclear subs are not loud. i read somewhere that ohio class boats are quieter than the water around them.
  16. wow, and i thought the spearfish was fast!
  17. hi, just wondering about some things: is the F-16 block 60 the most advanced version of the F-16? and is the UAE the only country that has them? also, are all of the USAF F-15C's finished being upgraded and will just be phased out when more F-22's become available? or is there something planned called the Super Eagle(?) or something to keep some of the -15's in the fight? i read this somewhere and i don't know if its true or not.
  18. what does it do?
  19. model looks great, keep up the good work
  20. oh snap! thats how they do it:D
  21. what about in situations where the pilot has to get a visual confirmation on the other plane? didn't that happen in desert storm and that's why a lot of the air to air combat was short range?
  22. that doesn't mean that the F-22 can't be good at WVR too does it?
  23. how does being able to do a really tight loop at really low speeds help you in combat? i can under stand how being able to point your nose in the direction of the other plane would be useful, but things like cobras just drop your airspeed to zero right? i admit that i basically know nothing compared to almost everyone on this forum, but i cant find a reason to stop your plane in midair during a dogfight. so how do these extra aerodynamics that the F-22 doesnt have help?
  24. sweet! thank you:thumbup:
