  1. My current group is using the Mustang in place of Skyraiders in Vietnam era missions. I know how to make Huey skins, but I cannot get the Mustang templates to open in Gimp. The 51 would look great in the SE Asia camo colors. I have already added Mk82s and a few other more modern weapons. Would someone be willing to make this skin for us? ]
  2. THANKS :D Ill get crackin' on it tomorrow!
  3. I feel its up to the pilot and the knowledge of the capabilities (strong points and weaknesses) of both aircraft. What I mean is, two pilots of identical skill and knowledge are a match. The knowledge of both sides' aircraft is important. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your aircraft is useless if you don't know the same about the aircraft you're fighting. "A good pilot in a bad airplane will always beat a bad pilot in a good airplane. It's about knowledge, and overall, discipline." --Pierre Spray It's up to the pilots, not the planes. In WW2, ME262s were flamed by 51s, even though they had the upper hand going into the fight...
  4. SKIN REQUEST... THIS IS GREAT!!! The 1st pic shows a real one but I would really like the 3rd pic as a skin for CAS in Huey missions. I have already added Mk82s and a couple other things to the Sabre. I am interested in releasing with the Nam skin if anyone is interested in making it...
  5. Thanks
  6. We need an invisible FARP that can also allow aircraft to refuel/rearm. the roads could be a runway. I would be happy if we could spawn and rearm/refuel helicopters anywhere and not just on FARPs and/or Airfields.
  7. My hopes are to one day be able to spawn, rearm/refuel, and repare on this pad WITHOUT a FARP or Airfield... Seems hopeless
  8. This might not be a problem if we replace it with this 3d model... Im dying to try it, but I dont know how :helpsmilie:
  9. YES!!! I agree entirely, but we need a FARP using the Inverted 'Y' or NATO 'T' LZ markers. I want to put the markers anywhere and be able to refuel and rearm on them like the FARP was made very quickly. Also, make it almost flush with the ground so that we can have the appearance of spawning on the ground anywhere we wish we wish. Better yet, does any one know how I may replace the 3D model of the FARP with the Inverted 'Y'? We could change the parameters and take 3 spawn points out and change the coordinates of the one left, thus making each LZ marker a FARP of its own... :dunno:Thoughts?
  10. Last Virginia Guard UH-1H As stated above, after painting the Huey like a VANG Blackhawk, I wanted to accurately model a real VANG Huey from back when the VANG flew them. I decided, after hitting a brick wall in the research department, to do the last Virginia NG Huey to leave. Below is the only picture of a Virginia Huey that I could find, but I think we will all enjoy the skin all the same... This is what I came up with: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/2w8ktgmea0gyoat/AAClyPlxIU6vV1ougJKZ1RRCa https://www.dropbox.com/sc/axqxp2m4col4qsz/AAAHsfESNegI488rQ1ZfJKwoa https://www.dropbox.com/sc/a92xxcvxn1usv5m/AAC7ltnoI3vsJYJfouCZ53Ypa https://www.dropbox.com/sc/ewy2urw31va5lu6/AABaQLcEoMLjOZ_zQwdExF3Fa Here is the SKIN DOWNLOAD LINK: https://www.dropbox.com/s/va2rrmxzcyocbl7/Last_VANG_Huey.rar
  11. Virginia Army National Guard UH1H I wanted to make a DCS Huey skin so a friend of mine in the v229th, who is a UH60 pilot in the VANG, gave me this pic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/legpng1ie3wpfwb/real_29th_bird.jpg Below is the Fictional Huey I did in the same scheme and numbers: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aj498v4fmt69c81/VANG_Nose.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/vbslof2iqczyjki/VANG_Tail.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/zkx3m1vcka5c50p/VANG_Huey.jpg Next I plan to make an actual VANG Huey from back when they were still flying them. Also, a Washington NG Huey (WA state that is...) Below is a VANG Huey: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2xctdsg95t8w4ye/VANG%20Huey.JPG I hope everyone enjoys this one. I had a blast making it, and it's a good skin to use for any US Army mission. Feedback is ALWAYS welcome... Here is the download link for the VANG UH-1H in the modern Blackhawk scheme: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jvfl00cyzavrag3/VANG.rar
  12. I would love to be able to spawn flyable helicopters anywhere on the map WITHOUT a FARP. Can this be done? It would be more realistic to have the payer(s) available start-points anywhere. I like the inverted 'Y' helipads that were released not long ago, they have added so much to my missions, but I want to be able to make each one a FARP if I can... Thoughts?:helpsmilie:
  13. This will GREATLY increase the "NAM" feel of some of my missions. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT GUYS!!! BEAUTIFUL PICS BTW
  14. Pavehawk, Pavelow, 160th Blackhawks... I wanna refuel choppers in the air ;) The modern USMC Helis have stupid looking blades lol. The AH1S or F would give us AT capability with the Classic Huey sound. The CH-146 Griffon (Bell 412) would be a nice one to play with. And it doesn't have the funny looking collapsible blades. I stand by my previous posts... Mi-24 then OH-58D. They have to learn more complex systems and this will take time. I'm almost certain that we will see more and more complex choppers as more 3rd party birds are released. We can only hope that release dates of future addons grow closer together. One aircraft per developer every 2-4 months would be nice, but I understand that waiting allows for better quality and detail. Take care all!!!
  15. I heard this project was cancelled. I hope not. Ive been wanting this beautiful machine for a long time and would pay good money for it. The community needs a good Nam plane for the "Blue side." Is this project still on?
  16. WESTERN EU, or EXPAND THE CURRENT THEATER, ANYTHING BUT NEVADA OF ALL PLACES, lol
  17. The Mi-24D would go nicely with the Mi-8 and KA-50. And the OH-58D would be a nice addition to work with A-10C. The AH-1G is neat, but I really hope someone makes the AH-1S. Anti-Tank capability and the larger caliber gun would be way more useful, and the systems modeling wouldn't change very much, aside from adding the TOW system. I think it would be an easy build for Belsimtek after the release of the AH-1G. If they made the AH-1S and released it as an upgrade for the AH-1G, that could make them a respectable sum of cash, and me a very happy heli-pilot, lol. It would definitely go nicely with the Russian Cold War helis we have now. Its from the same era as the KA-50, and would add the US equivalent to the "blue side."
  18. I agree 100%. Too bad modules aren't released more often. New planes come out for FSX every few weeks. Sure would be great if that happened for DCS, but i do understand there is way more to do for a DCS addon. I'm fascinated with the design as well, but I don't really know much more than basic texture work, lol. Ill just say this... An F-16C from somewhere between Block 25/32 to Block 50/52 would probably make the most cash. I play Falcon BMS as well, and everyone I have discussed DCS with says they would gladly make the change if someone would release a Viper. That's a lot of people, and many of them already have sim pits built. A viper pit would be a fun build for DCS players. So many have been done already, so data and parts are an easy find. We need more modules added to Helios for builders, but it would be easy to do. It seems like everyone is steering clear of the F-16C for some reason. Wonder why...? We need more choppers like the OH-58D, Blackhawk, Pavehawk, and especially the AH-1S to keep the cold war helis going. The AH-1S would be a really easy module for Belsimtek after the AH-1G is finished. Then, at least we would have anti-tank capability. Unfortunately, DCS modules keep pointing to older planes and helis with less system, but the systems are the most educational aspect of aircraft sims. I find learning new aircraft systems to be the most fun part of playing with sims, and certainly the most valuable to me as a real-world pilot. I like this sim because of the modern combat and the systems of the A-10C. We need more modern full-fidelity planes and choppers. WW2 sims are fun, but after the years they have gotten boring, but the graphics are great, lol. There's so many great WW2 sims, IL-2 being one of the best ever, even though the systems aren't 100% accurate. But, a REALISTIC, full-fidelity, modern sim with many flyable aircraft was not available until now. DCS is already a gold mine as far as sims are concerned, but profits could increase exponentially if the right modules were made. People are buying aircraft they really don't care about, just so they can fly something new in DCS. I've done it. Hopefully someone will start making some good jets and helis soon. I'm not knocking whats out there under construction right now, but the subjects being modeled at the moment strike me as very random choices. Some of the more obvious choices would generate much more profit...
  19. Get the Huey first, brother. It will make you a better rotary wing pilot. It's a great heli trainer. I started into helis with KA50 and then went into the Huey, and on to the Mi-8. I highly recommend the Huey first. It will make you better at flying the other helis when you get them later, because you will learn more of the heli basics in it compared to any other heli module... Just my 2 cents...
  20. Most people want an AH-64. So I see that being done soon. But after that a KIOWA! Adding the OH-58 could also work nicely along side the A-10C.
  21. Really? Lol. It's not used because we don't have it. There are certain people that would still use TS. But, the vast majority of DCS players are all about realism and accurate modeling. These are the majority, and this sort of system should be implemented to not take away from immersion into the sim. No brainer... It's very hard for ANY group of people to fly a REALISTIC mission in multiplayer with 4 or more players. Transmissions are missed, people get stepped on, and this could be fixed by having everyone on different FREQs and having one main FREQ for the commander to communicate with everyone at once. That's why there are 3 different radios in most MIL Aircraft. The bottom line is, we need an IVC-like system for DCS. The majority that does want this could use it and be happy, while the ones that just want to play around and use TS could still do that. Win/Win for DCS.
  22. One main channel for everyone and one whisper for your flight. We do it all the time. Everyone is in one big channel is TS, and each flight has its own whisper list made by the members of the flight. Whisper lists are saved so you would only have to do it once. But TARS is better and more realistic. We should have had an IVC -like system in DCS a long time ago.
  23. I have 3.0.11.1 and it works fine, but only with A-10C. I will send you a link to my drive later today. If you wanna jump on TS this evening around 530 (Central Time Zone) I will hep you get it going... If you're interested, PM me for TS server info. I'll send it to you in a reply right before we get on.
  24. All comms are not lost. 243.00 UHF and 121.50 VHF are emergency FREQs ;)
  25. I agree. But you can't tell them anything bro...
