Seems like P-51 suffers same issue... ${1} it is from Burning Skies server and it did not happened to me first time there... (may be weather setting)

Spitfire better than P-51D for online matches?
saburo_cz replied to TripRodriguez's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Do not try to fight against Bfs at low altitude at low speed especially with full tanks. If you met ONE Bf and you will stay fast, you will have chance to win, if they are two cooperating (unfortunately very often) your chance to win will be minimal even you will fly with Spitfire or "P-51D 1944" whatever it will be... do not forget that on-line playing has nothing to common with real WWII air battles -
I used quotation for cold, because oil and water was not out of limit, up or down. You can barely undercool engine shortly after it was overload, means using 3250RPM with or without MW. I should use better formulation in first reply, sorry.
-
It happened to me too. I suddenly decreased engine power from high engine load and after while engine was dead even it was at low RPM and oil and water was "cold". I changed setup, after high RPM i always run engine at 2700 or 3000 for while, depends on MW, to let engine cool down itself, not oil or water. And i remain to fly fast during it. Then engine does not die. No idea if it is placebo or not but it works for me...

Spitfire first take-off; first "landing" observations
saburo_cz replied to beagleRampant's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
But it is right, according to real Spitfire pilot whom i asked. There is no lock. -
Artificial Horizon still not functional...
saburo_cz replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in Bugs and Problems
ah understand if you keep ball in the middle during flight, horizon is working correct, it is extremely sensitive to slip flight all horizons in DCS WWII planes are, not only Bf`s btw. it is reason why i never taxi with uncaged horizon (have no idea how do it in Spit...) -

saburo_cz replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in Bugs and Problems
I works, did you uncage it? No default keys are set for it, i think. They are in "Front dash" section - "Horizon Cage DECREASE" and "Horizon Cage INCREASE". Or you can do it by mouse in cockpit. -

Finally left hand HOTAS will be on market  Count me in, it is something i desperately need. -
Yes it is right, Mustang has landing light only under left wing.

I have ping around 60, and i see warping planes every day since Spitfire was released. It is not perhaps server issue. Do not remember such warping before last game upgrade. According to another players complain in cheat am not only who has it.

Thanks for answer and now for change too.

Hi eekz, can you please change map seaon from winter to somewhere else. Spring or fall will be far better. Waiting nearly 5 minutes for proper Mustang`s oil teperature after engine start is too long and low ambient temperature does not prevent or help against engine overheating during fight. Moreover shortly after map start, that low and sharp sun lights is ... you know lost enemy thaks to this is so easy at least. Thanks

OK, i did some more tests and. When i use WEP and than continue in flight at lower engine settings (for example max. continuous), manifold pressure regulator starts working when manifold pressure is set at least 47inHG. If WEP is not use, manifold pressure regulator starts working at 42inHg, which is correct i think. (RPMs are not important in this, does not matter if 2400 or 3000 or somewhere between) So, my question is, is this movement (5inHG) of lower limit for manifold pressure regulator OK or not? Thanks
-
Hi, manifold pressure regulator works during normal engine operation corectlly but when i engage WEP then it stops working. I tried to fly with engine setting 46inHg/2700, before WEP regulator keeps manifold pressure from sea level to critical altitude. I repeated it after i engage WEP and manifold pressure started to go down immediately i started to climb. Do not know if it is bug or feature, can someone clarified it please. And one request related to WEP. During repair plane after flight, WEP gate is not secured back and remains open after plane repair. Can you changed it to normal initial condition?

This volume knob is for VHF radio, not for radar. Radar warning sounds does not have possibility to be turned down.

sensor for gasoline gauge is only in lower fuel tank, it took some time to show consumed fuel in case of 100% fuel (default setting in ME is somewhere around 70)

Do the Germans build good aircraft or what?
saburo_cz replied to Phantom453's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
Yes, you are right. BUT At low speed u have to feel huge impact on FM but i did not register it yesterday. It was not my first "wing lost". But first when i did not have any trouble to keep D-9 in air after it, no speaking about landing. (it was reason why i saved track) -

saburo_cz replied to Phantom453's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
It`s not SFM. Yesterday i lost 1/3 my left wing in mid air collision with debris from my target on public server and i was able not only to fly but i did "perfect" landing too with full flaps and L/G down. I have track if developers will need it. IMO it is bug. -
[Video] DCS: Spitfire trailer feat. Normandy map

awesome  -
ED is going to release Mk.IXc and this is true Spitfire with R-R Merlin engine as we know legendary Spitfire. If VEAO one day release their promise, Mk.XIV, we get "next gen" Spitfire with newer engine R-R Griffon. This plane looks like older Spitfire, but is heavy, faster and thanks to oposite propeller rotation it has different flying qualities. So, it is actually another plane even it looks like Mk.IXc.

awesome

No, it is really useful device. Mainly in turning fight when target is close but you have to set target wingspan precisely and do permanent distance correction. Increasing distance between you and your target require increasing prediction where target will be in time when bullets come.
-
I think that the most important thing is that these gyro sights show only place where your bullets will be but not place where target will be. if you set distace 600m, sight shows you exact point where you will shot in distance 600m. But target plane will move between you start shot and bullets reach that point. Gyro sights help you to know "how behind" your path you shot, they can not predict target movement. btw. bullet tooks 600m nearly one second, plane flying 500km/h move nearly 140m from point which you aimed when you start shoting (and there is not only distance but side movement in turning too) it is way how i understand it...

this is fuel stream (yellow tube, oxygen is colored in blue) from external fuel tank so, if you are without it or external tank is empty, no bubbles are here your engine settings is OK, it is "overmodeling" real feature and it is common for all "nextgen simulators", these flames are visible at night but barely in day light, am not speaking about engine starting during it flames can be...:)

yes, You are absolutely right, my fault...:smilewink: and "Emeregency MW tank release valve" (this is called in one book about Bfs) allows to drain MW tank when pilot needs, so, fire can be that case... but not only of course i tried it with MW50 inside and yes, i see liquid pouring from my plane too but when i set power to maximal with MW50 enabled, MW50 pressure gauge showed working system it looks like you can drain MW tank but actually you do not do it and liquid will remains inside tank, i have no idea if it has any impact on flight model...
