Spitfire outturns everythig. At low speeds outclimbs everything. But is definitively the slowest plane, means that both Lufwaffe planes will catch you and you will not be able to escape.

DCS P-51D Flight Manual is saying: The AN/ARA-8 ... is not operational in DCS P-51D. The same is for Detrola (and IFF device). You can "click" on controls of these control boxes, but with no any effect. I have no idea about modding.
-
It would be nice to have these simulated, but... Detrola, for its proper function you need beacons and they were only placed in the USA in 30-40. There is not that map in DCS W or plan fot it. IFF needs radars, alied WWII radars, and they are not on the actual list... AN/ARA 8 needs ground VHF transmiters (beacons), or B-29 with these. It was used only in Pacific during spring - summer 45. No plans for that area for DCS W, or that equipnent.
-
Detrola, like IFF and AN/ARA8 radio homing unit, is not implemented in DCS World. unfortunately

OMG, shift mission start time to later hours, this tragic 8 a.m. is may be good for taking promotional pictures but definitely not for PvP airquake map like Normandy anticipation... please

If you do not touch it, it will work automatically and that is normal procedure, they are switched by automatic. You can permanently switch to M.S. gear (first gear) in case of any trouble with superchager automatic (no trouble with it in DCS, it means in R/L) by switch near yellow supercharger light on front dashboard. Or, you can check proper function of F.S. gear (second gear when yellow light is ON), by button on L/H side in cockpit, button under cover, it is here only for ground test before take-off. M.S. means middle supercharger F.S. means full supercharger

Hi eekz, i tried to find ground targets in mission "Battle for Gali" for both sides. It looks like they are completely missing and not only hidden between trees as i thought yesterday. At least three platoons should be on open places and these are empty. Two platoons, if they are there, are placed in forest, about the last one am not sure..

Fw190 has cockpit lights ON when spawns like P-51 has, i have not tried rest of WWII planes so far. Please ED, return cockpit lights back to OFF position when planes spawn. Thanks

I think no, flap's system is not connected with electric system, hydraulic flap's motor is driven by hydraulic pressure and is controled by mechanical valve controled by pilot. It shouldn't be dependent on battery switch possition. Only on pressure inside hydraulic system and position on flaps control lever.

For AFN-2 correct operation you need beacons and they are not in DCS world and no word about their future implementation into the DCS W has been said. AFN in Bf 109 (only in 109) somehow receives ILS signals after proper frequency setting in ME, but it is nonsence because of their different frequency range and systems work.

killed during taxi at A/B just now, no chance to take off, must be soooo fun, but not for me time to find another server..

That axis what you look for is called "Engine RMP Setting"

DoW may be return when 2.5 will be released. I think, i read something like it somewhere on forum, i hope it will happen too. Caucasus map offers far more than small Normandy map.

skins Spitfire in DCS World 2.0
saburo_cz replied to kingofland's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
That is weird, i tried it and it works, for me. I modified one skin by adding "FRA" on countries list in description, and that skin appeared on France Spitfire skin list in editor. look on pictures -
it is valve for windshield de-ice yellow color marks fuel system, and fuel is (was in real plane, not only for Bfs) used for de-ice

Coolant and Aftercoolant Relief Valves Missing
saburo_cz replied to Magic Zach's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Both systems work with certain pressure and if their limits are overcome, they relieve overpressure from particular system. They simply protect systems from any possible damage which can be caused by overpressured coolant liquid (or vapour). picture is from TO 01-60JE-2 Erection and Maintenance Instructions for Army Models P-51D-5 and says only exact pressure for aftercooler relieve. -
Spitfire has finaly mirror back, unfortunately shows opposite bank when plane rolls.. see pictures, P-51 and F-15 mirrors show the same horizont line as pilot see in front him, but Spitfire's mirror shows theirs horizont lines opposite
-
No, Spitfire still does not have any bombs or drop-tanks. UK-type bombs and drop-tanks for Spitfire are not in A/B list of equipment
-
It looks like that all WWII planes have tuned engine sound. Dora lost its "damaged engine sound", btw. Spitfire engine sound is definitely the best from them, now. AND Spitfire has working mirror back

Ah, thanks for explanation. I thought that all is in normal condition when login started working.
