Magnetic declination correction knob... Hi there ! A question about the magnetic declination correction knob, in the lower far right corner in the cockpit: When dragging it I don't see it turning, and there should be a white arrow/dot on the knob to see the correction value you want to set, no ?

A post to report something we noticed yesterday with a friend during an online flight. We started with opened cockpit during winter. My friend isn't very familiar yet with the bird, so we did a cockpit "walkaround". At a moment, my friend told me: "I have a problem, my display is shaking and I have a strange noise". We both thought it was a bug to be fixed later. Then I experienced the same issue: shaking display and a "claking noise". Then, we both realised it was an easter egg: with opened cockpit and winter, it was so cold that the pilot shook his head and had his teeth clacking. Cockpit closed, no more shaking display nor noise ! Do the same, start a flight in winter with very cold temperatures, leave the cockpit opened, and after a while, you will experience the same ! We were really lol when we realised what was happening :D:D:D For that I would say: THANK YOU LEATHERNECK !!!! These are small little things that make the difference between a good addon and a god damn great, great, great addon ! I'm really looking forward to see and experience your navy cat and the next airplanes that will follow ! Good job, and again, THANK YOU !

If the "Noooo-my-airplane/helo-slides-off-the-flight-deck-in-water" bug is fixed, yes, probably. Will be great with the harrier

Hi there ! Are there any news about DCS 2.5 ? I remember I saw very nice picture of the Caucasus map under 2.5 some times ago last year, but nothing then...

Thanks for your answers, reaaly helpful  I will experiment asap

Hi there, With the Viggen now in the air, QFE is now a very important information to know for weapons delivery. So here is my question for experts: if during a flight I contact a JTAC who gives me coordinates and target elevation, is it possible to know or determine the qfe information for the target location ?

Hello Viggen "test pilots" A question about the RB-15: I try to attack a convoy of 3 ships, I program my BX8 and BX7, fine, radar in ANF, fine, missiles away, fine, but the 2 missiles always target the same ship, even if I program "the missile mode" in CK-37 with code 800003, wich correspond to "convoy attack mode". Did I miss something ? Is it a bug related to the missile ? However, no probem with RB-04, 2 missiles away, 2 different targets hit.

Thanks for your answers, now I know there is nothing I'm doing wrong. But it seems odd is to me, may be there weather conditions that limit Aircraft opération especially if the plane is designed to land on roads. I don't know but I'm really curious about that unsual system

Hi all, Here is something I noticed with the TILS: I configure my system to follow the TILS signal for my destination base, everything is set correctly, I follow the indications of my flight director, but it brings me on final approach 100-200 meters parralel on the right of the runway centerline. At first I thought it would be caused by navigation system drift, but I read the drift is auto corrected by the TILS itself. Is it a bug ? Something I'm missing ?

Thanks for your answers, I will try and experiment tomorrow :-)

Hi guys, I discovered more and more the Viggen the last days, and I really LOVE it ! But I have questions about the radar: - How does the radar ground avoidance mod work ? I out the radar in M2 mode, I have the sweep with the terrain in front displayed on the scope, then I press the switch to go in ground avoidance mod, and then I hav a white-greenish display with sometimes a black line there or there, but I have no idea how to interpret those informations - What is the Linear/Logarithmic switch made for ? It's behind the radar stick, on the left console. I saw it changes the display from white-greenish background to a blackish background, but what is the purpose for each mode ? - Finally, what is the purpose of the radar M3 mode, the mode which gives us a square-shaped display on the scope ? Thank you very much for people who may enlight me on those points, now I'm quite puzzled with those

Hello there ! Question about our favorite helicopter, will we have additionnal external tanks functionnal in the future ? I can load additionnal KA50 tanks, but they seem to be only cosmetic, I have zero fuel indication when switching fuel gauge selector knob on "additionnal"

Question about aiming rockets
flo57100 replied to flo57100's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thanks for your replies, it makes sense now :-). But is there a certain altitude to be in order to have those settings valid ? I didn't find it on the tables but maybe I missed something -
Doesn't work for ships...One more thing to put in the DCS Wishlist thread ;-)

Hi there ! Is there a way to allow a unit (for example a ship) to transmit something on a certain frequency. I wanted to do this for having an ADF for my home ship but I didn't find the way to do so ?

Hello Hip pilots ! A question concerning using the sight to aim for rocket and weapons use: I saw the tables on the overhead table for sighting setting regarding shooting distance and speed. For a shoot at 1500 meters at 200 km/h, it says to set the sight at 64. For a shoot at 3000 meters at 200 km/h, it says to set the sigt at 104. What puzzles me is that when you set the sight at 64 (for 1500m) the crosshair appears much higher than sight set at 104 (3000m). It should be the opposite, no ? Because if you want to fire your rocket at 3000m distance, you must aim higher than at 1500 meters to compensate for the ballistic trajectory of your rockets, right ? Is there something I'm missing ? I attached a screen of the tables to the message. Maybe someone can enlight me on that point

Thank you for this ship which will for sure give more scenario possibilities ! Maybe a Zubr or a LCAC will join the fleet in the future ? :smilewink:

Here a LZ on a outpost I just built: Honestly guys what do you prefer, rearm/refueling on something like that or on default "FARPS". Just a 300m zone as object "FARP" around those facilities and you can do whatever you want with your chopper in condition you have adequate vehicles nearby! Come on ED, pleaaaaaase, we know you can do it :smilewink:

Hello ED, Just a request that would make a lot of simmers happy if done. Not a new module, not a new airplane, not an other map, not even new ground units, no no. Just few code lines where needed to allow: - Helicopters (and airplanes ?) to rearm/refuel in the middle of nowhere. No more FARPS needed as they are now modeled in DCS World, just a few trucks hidden along a tree line. May be can be done by using a 300m diamter zone in which helicopter can be refueled/rearm provided provided correct vehicles are resent. Moreover, it would avoid having LZ built on top of mayan pyramids (Those who tried to put FARPs in mountains know what I'm talking about :megalol::thumbup:) - Ground units to switch to another location if a condition is met. For exemple, vehicles group "blabla" go to waypoint (or zone)** if 10% or more of this group is destroyed. Would make sense, the vehicle I spotted will retreat to an other location if they take heavy damages and losses. Indeed, this feature would have the same kind of logic than what is possible to do airplanes/helicopters. Believe me, a lot of lads around here would be veeeeeeery grateful if done  This not a FARP (no offense to the builder, who did a great job !) This is a FARP, a few trucks in the middle of nowhere:
