  1. Thanks Breeze, I knew there was something I was forgetting.
  2. ST, have you tried adjusting the rocket counter? You can set the rocks to auto and then set the counter to 8 (assuming you have 10 loaded) then hold down on the release and you should fire off exactly two rockets simultaneously with little to no recoil. At least I think that is how it works, its been a while since I actually used the rocket counter, but I'm pretty sure the counter counts down. So for example if you want to release exactly 4 rockets, set your counter to 6 (again assuming you have ten loaded). Try that next time and let me know if that helps.
  3. I'm not saying he is wrong ( I certainly can't speak from experience) but it might also be worth highlighting that he is trying to sell the 109's (HA-1112) to possibly someone who is holding out for the right P-51 restoration project so his descriptions could be a tad on the bias side.
  4. New Livery pack Since DCS 1.5 we have removed our custom liveries from our server. I've been working on some new liveries for the mustang that should look pretty good in DCS 1.5 and 2.0. Some of you may have downloaded this pack already but I wanted to post the link here in case there are a few interested in using it but don't frequent the user file section of DCS. these are for everyone to enjoy on our server. We haven't updated all our missing to include them yet but there are a few. I've also included the doppelganger liveries for the AN-26 and C-130 which we have used as WWII bombers. Note: this pack is not required to play on our server but if you want to use them it should make for a better experience. The pack is JSGME ready but let me know if you have any trouble downloading or installing them. Download here http://lockon.co.uk/en/files/1599049/
  5. Have you trierd the Dogs of War server? Best was to get connected to the other people flying on it is to join our teamspeak channel. check out webfortress.com/dogsofwar
  6. New Teamspeak Address Just a heads up we have a new Teamspeak Address 108.5.249.33
  7. After seeing some of content for this event I just have to say, d0o0m has really out done himself. This is definitely going to be something worth putting in your calendar once we can decide on a date!
  8. Thanks ST, we are aware of it. Rest assured Chief is doing everything he can to get it back up as soon as possible. We will update with more information as soon as we can.
  9. Great looking skin!

    Factory Fresh

Now that some time has opened up for me I am finally getting around to working on a few liveries for some new members of our squad. I decided to make a few quick changes to this one as well. Since the new ED website makeover I don't believe you have to wait for someone to approve your upload so you should be able to download version 2.0 now from the link below. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1210718/ here are the changes I made: 1. Removed the smoke stains from the guns. 2. Reorganized the description.lua file to match Shahdoh's standards. Hopefully this will eliminate some errors with the pilot texture not loading correctly in multiplayer. 3. Took some inspiration from VH-Rocks spec layer from his recent mustang skin pack and changed the painted area of this spec layer from green to grey. I think it makes the painted area of the wings look a little more realistic. Thanks everyone for your input.
  11. Those look great! So much detail I don't even know where to begin, that is a lot of really good work.
  12. +1 you're not making the wait any easier!
  13. I watched your video one last time a little closer, to me it appears you change your pull up rate right before your wing folds. Check it out, I think you are trying to pull lead right at the last second because it appears your arch is flattening out just prior to your wings folding. Going into a rolling dive and then trying to pull lead just before the apex of the dive might have been what did you in. I am just speculating here of course. You were so close to an awesome kill shot though, it's too bad your wing failed. Don't let it discourage you though, it's these little things that make a kill that much more rewarding! If it was easy we'd all be doing it for about a week then get bored and put the sim on the shelf.
  14. I thought I read someones post on here that in optimal configuration the mustang should be able to pull a steady 8 g's. I was recently chasing a 109 in a dive when he pulled up hard and to the left. His wings snapped and when I finally came to and looked at my g meter I saw I had pulled 7.5g's. Do you know if you had any damage at the time. The last time I broke my wing I did a lazy split S but I had a huge hole in my wing from a cannon round I just took. I didn't pull particularly hard at all but the wing just folded off. Until then I wasn't sure the visual damage model went hand in hand with the mathematical one but it was pretty obvious to me that my wing was much weaker due to the damage it just received. Sorry not much else to add that you don't already know but in my experience the rate at which you pull the g makes all the difference.
  15. Not sure what happen there but take another look. They should both be up and running now.
  16. man in my absence I never saw the recent activity on this thread! you are right, it was Little MAC you were flying. It's funny but after getting use to flying with each other in our DoW planes I have to say that Redtail stuck out like a sore thumb. It made it nice when I was trying to form up with you! The day we have a flyable B-24 will be the day I start making the banana boat skin! You can see her here: http://www.450thbg.com/real/aircraft/bananaboat.shtml That is the one my granddad bailed out of over Yugoslavia. Demon thanks for the link. That is the official website of my grandfather’s bomber group. I submitted some of those pictures on behalf of Craig Huntly but the ones from Stanley Purwinis were there before I started researching the plane. What I find interesting is the that the pictures from Stanley Purwinis appear to be taken from separate days since the nose art LITTLE MAC is not on one of them. I know the B-24s were surrounded by a lot of mustangs but why are there pictures of this particular plane taken on at least two separate occasion? I think it almost suggest there might be some connection with the pilot and the 720th BS. Especially since my grandfather said the pilot of LITTLE MAC was the officer who was checking his gear for contraband before he was sent home. Just feels like too many coincidences, and if there is some connection then maybe that is the key in finally putting a name to the pilot... who knows. As a side note I updated this skin a while ago so the metal finish looks a little different than the previous pictures I posted. It’s also part of our official DoW skin pack that can be download from the first post in our Server thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=133245
  17. Do any of your mods change the lod file or lod file structure of any of the aircraft? If so that is likely why you are unable to connect. I can't really say what mods work or don't work with our server because there are so many but I can say we check the files that are commonly used as exploits to ensure that everyone is flying the same simulator so to speak. I use peterP's sweetfx settings as well as a little texture mod for the my mustang pit but nothing real major. I suggest turning all your mods off and then add them 1 by 1 to find which one is holding you up.
  18. The first thing I might try is running the repair as administrator. It seems pretty obvious to me that the texture didn't install right. I remember a while back someone was having a problem with their default pilot textures. Turned out he had the files installed but they had a different naming scheme to them. Not sure how that happen but renaming the files was all it took to correct the problem.
  19. +1 Fool, sorry I can't make it but I would like to add that it's a lot more fun when we are on task together in teamspeak. If anyone still doesn't know where to find the teamspeak channel info, check the first post of this thread or our home page at http://www.webfortress.com/dogsofwar.
  20. Thanks a lot for this info I will play around with this.
  21. Thank you for explaining this, I have often wondered about the cause of this texture error! So using the false value in place of liveries that don't use a custom texture like you described will fixes this issue completely? what about when the custom skins are used on the same server with the original skins that don't have the false code lines for the face or helmet or whatever. Will this still cause the graphics issue?
  22. I use the following code in my personal skin description.lua. My P-51 livery uses a custom face, armpatch, uniform, and helmet. {"pilot_P51_patch", 0 ,"Pilot_DOW_Patch",false}; {"pilot_P51_helmet_B", 0 ,"pilot_P51_helmet_Whip",false}; {"pilot_P51_body", 0 ,"pilot_WWII_2",false}; {"pilot_P51_head_A", 0 ,"pilot_P51_head_WHIP",false}; } name = "[DoW] Miss Fairweather" ountries = {"USA", "RUS", "FRA", "UKR", "SPN", "NETH", "TUR", "BEL", "GER", "NOR", "CAN", "DEN", "UK", "GRG", "ISR", "ABH", "RSO", "ITA"} id = 4 -- USAF Pilot with WWII helmet Just replace my file names with your custom file names and make sure they are included in the livery folder along with your custom skin and it should work.
  23. That's funny because all I see is an F-4U cockpit! Yes thats a wildcat on the right I just have it up there for comparison.
  24. New address for teamspeak: IP: 96.242.30.236 Password: DoW
