  1. I found that to be entertaining. I liked the music, a little Jack Daniels with ice and I cranked it up, felt like the 70's all over again, huraah!:megalol:
  2. I enjoyed that ED. Well thought out flight, smooth transitions looked like the real deal. I liked the black out in the cockpit gave me the impression that it was a documentary and gave a human quality to aerobatics. Especially enjoyed U2 Vertigo. Had the sound up for that one. 2 thumbs up:thumbup::thumbup:, rep inbound for the effort.
  3. Ok Sidewinder, I do recall flying together, but hell I can't remember what I did 5 minutes ago!! You have jogged my memory. I will keep thinking. I am a sucker for a challenge.:smilewink:
  4. Its all about having a good partner. Have a good time Yanny!:D
  5. Wow Kuky, constant reinstalls! I am getting the Thermaltake Armour case with three fans built in and someone else is putting it together. However, I am going to install XP for the very first time. Sounds like you are the guy to guide me through it. Fudd provided me with notes and a good looking install video. I will keep my fingers crossed that the machine works first time! I will watch for these issues in the near future.
  6. I get 6 weeks per year but rarely 2 weeks in a row. My days as a Golf Professional I had the 2 months during the winter. Now as a GM/Director of Golf it is a 12 month gig. And Sidewinder, hmm, train driver?, moving company? Sorry, I seem to have taken this thread off on a tangent. Bring on the A-10.:joystick:
  7. Kuky, I'll be picking my new rig up on Wednesday, with the 3870x2 in it. I will compare notes the weekend of the 16th and 17th. By the way, whats the issue?
  8. One month vacation! Hard to make that happen in North America unless you don't want your job upon your return.
  9. Aussie Rules! http://s52.photobucket.com/albums/g37/FA_Crazy-Canuck/?action=view&current=IhaveeverythingIneed.flv
  10. Order up! Should have the new puter by the weekend.
  11. OOOO, aaaaaahhh, got the word today I am covered and the cheque is on the way!!! PCVilliage here I come:joystick:. I'll be back in the air within 10 days!:pilotfly::thumbup: God Bless America, oh wait I'm Canadian, God Bless the Beaver and Beer!! (our national animal and national drink, what a country, beaver and beer, eh?).
  12. Lock On and IL2, the two games I play the most are Open GL games and Nvidia handles this better than ATI. Fudd is a Beta tester for Blackshark and he feels that this system will have no trouble handling BS. The thing I considered is I am waiting for Oleg's Battle of Britain. It will be an Open GL game not DX10. The gamble is that this game will work better with Nvidia. My thought is that by the time these games are launched ATI will develop drivers to run them better. You could wait for the new Nvidia card with two chips. It is going up against the HD3870X2. I found this interesting link regarding benchmarking HD3870X2. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2742448
  13. Hey thanks Poko24. Here are the "dirty details": Video Card - ATI Saphire HD3870x2 CPU - Intel 8400 Motherboard - Asus Maximus Formula X38 Ram - Corsair XMS (4-4-4-12) Sound Card - Creative SB X-FI Fan - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro PSU - Corsair HX Series 620W Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 500GB Optical Drive - LG GSA Super Multi Case - Thermaltake Armour We decided to go with the HD3870X2 since it is benchmarking equal to or greater than the Nvidia 8800Ultra and it is less expensive. I assume it can only get better when the new ATI drivers are released. Thank you to everyone for your input. Judging by the participation in this thread it appears this type discussion is useful to a number of people. Special thanks to Fudd for educating me on the process. Rep inbound Fudd.
  14. I just recived the go ahead to get my new rig from a higher power, MY WIFE! I should hear from the insurance people next week. I think her words were "for Gods sake just go buy one, your making me crazy!! Whining always works.:megalol: Hey Fudd lets get serious! Can we get together on comms and go over the options?
  15. Hey Fudd, not sure if you saw the game systems PC Villiage is packaging. How does this compare to what we have talked about? http://www.pcvonline.com/systemsCont.aspx?cat=Destop%20System
  16. "Not gonna do't, wouldn't be prudent"
  17. I have been doing some surfing while I wait for my new build. Sorry if this is a duplicate post.
  18. Will this motherboard accept my Buffalo Ram, DDR2?
  19. Kuky, I was going to say are your sure you are looking at the ATI x2?, lol. I spoke to my Brother Inlaw today he reviewed this post and was giving me the gears about the "The Enemies" (Intel) processor. He told me the suggested retail of the x2 will be $459 CDN, however, as you said Fudd, expect short-term gouging. Unfortunately they don't have any in Toronto office. It appears to me they don't take care of their own very well! I should here something this week regarding the go ahead, or no go ahead. Fudd I was in a Future Shop Sat, the Samsung 24" monitor 245bw, had gone back up to $429 from $379. I will wait it out and get it when it drops again. Here's another question. My old system had a SATA 2 939 Asrock Mother Board and a AMD San Diego 3700+. What Motherboard and processor should I get to handle my Video Card and Ram as a back up system without spending a great deal of money?
  20. Check out this review on the Radeon 3870 x2. It appears to be an even handed report. http://www.fpslabs.com/reviews/video/amd-radeon-hd-3870-x2-review
  21. Hey Fudd check out early bench marks of the ATI HD3870. When you have a chance walk me through it. Thanks http://en.expreview.com/?p=219#more-219
  22. Beauty eh! Outstanding, I am looking forward to downloading it. It looks to me like sooner than later??!!A big thanks to the team for your incredible efforts.
  23. Thanks Kuky, the good thing is shopping for a new "puter", its like being a kid in a candy store!
  24. Thanks guys for the input. I am waiting for the guys who will be performing the restorations in the basement to provide their quote to the insurance company. My wife seems to think this is more important than my new pc......hard to believe huh!:joystick: Fudd I checked out the video card, I know its good but why not the ASUS EXTREME N8800GTS HTPD/512MB/PCI-E VIDEO CARD for $350. Is it a case of bang for the buck?
  25. Once you are in the main page go to the options page and turn off music. I believe that turns off the intro noise.
