  3. It depends of the: target size what equals in theory Shkval's gate size (the smaller object the closer it'll be needed to lock onto); time of day (contrast); artificial obstacles like smoke as example (Shkval should lose lock after tank releases dust);
  4. It does due to limitations of engine.... for game it snaps to object as is. Till we have real image processing it won't change - even in Ka-50 although we can resize target gate and it does matter, really it locks only valid objects, leaving wrecks, trees, clouds, street markings unlockable.
  5. Snap to target ability is unrealistic. More real Shkval is to be found in DCS: Ka-50.
  6. My eyes could be wrong but few years ago I saw about 50 000 members. Later it's been cut to about 10 000 - 20 000. Is dat right?
  7. I got few times in a row just after clicking "join" button, but after while I connected... and was disconnected after 5 minutes lol. But mostly disconnects happen during the mission.
  8. Hmm in my case all was OK till mission change - then I lost connection many times but I didn't notice server crash during mission reload, interesting. Other time on WarGameLabs.com server when I moved units, ping increased rapidly and kicked me many times. I thought particular units don't affect ping as they are treated as one group.
  9. Thx :) I notice on your screens vehicles are darker... I did test at 21:00 and 01:00. Here are the results (21:00 is quite similar to mine so I don't post it): 01:00 Vehicles are brighter on my screen. I have everything highest as possible except MSAA, TSAA and trees shadow as I don't see these options giving significant visual update related to the costs of performance. Tell me why building are white? Regarding your concern of flying equipped by pod during day, I guess it is old habit from LO1 where in day Merkurij could give you great IR image. I see visibility of units change during the time of a day and they are quite good noticeable (based on your screens), so this issue seem to be solved - I must change something in my settings to get darker units :) But one question remains - why are buildings, roads, railways white and example airport runway is not? And why should they be white (bright)? What makes them so bright in the pod? I know IR has not been modelled in the DCS however making some elements like buildings, roads just artificially white while other elements not is weird :P
  10. Today I played quick round on PVI server. Was nice till mission changed. Then I had to reconnect 4 times before I just gave up. Interesingly in one time all RED team (or most of 6-8 people) were disconnected at once.
  11. Nope there was no fog, clear ground. Yeah unit is close to wreck - inside yellow circle: I am curious why streets, buildings are being lightened like hell. On the contrary airport is not. I can understand situation where units are not so visible but make it for everything. I don't see reason why buildings should be almost white. Merkurij is not really tool that Russians can be proud of (:P) however as I said there is no point making roads, railways highly visible where units don't. So I guess visibility levels should be... leveled. Either make units so bright or buildings, ect darker. If there is no time to fix Merkurij pod it'd be good just to copy and paste A-10C's Lighting pod shaders for Russian pod (I think TV look is based on shaders - at least you could modify them in LO2 and make Shkval to display other colors).
  12. Yo, Merkurij pod gives this image: Why everything is so bright... except units? Try to find unit on this screen: Then compare how it looks to the rest of bright elements. Fix it either by increasing units visibility or decrease everything else (bright elements) to the non-brightened look:)

  15. There are some restricted threads where you cannot give rep. You have to do it in another part of the forum.... The list of restricted areas are unknown.
  16. Yesterday people entered on my server and disappeared then again appeared and disappeared. Luckily they were able to at least fire 1 missile before next disconnection came. I heard it is related to the moving units on the map. I had about 130-150 units moving in same time. I stopped them all but nothing changed. It makes game almost unplayable at all.... it is not fun to play in Single Player... if I hadn't hadn't Internet, perhaps it'd have been... but I have internet and I'd like to use it :)
  17. There are two types of RBK-500 in the game - RBK-500 and RBK-500U, "U" version is successor of the basic 500 and is better :)
  18. :)) Try to speed your vehicle up to about 120 kph or more... then ride through river - you will do many jumps around :D If you are on the back you can put missile launcher toward ground and fire missile, once I managed to jump off very high O_o

Yesterday I ordered to drive fast as possible and they stopped after while LOL :D I seriously don't know how to force them to move, not to stop, not to collide themselves each other, not to slow down without reason, not to move into buildings ect :P I guess it needs to be improved in next beta.
