  1. If you don't get it by now, then I have nothing more to say. Off course we are all grateful. That was not my point, maybe I didn't fully explain myself. Tend to have that issue. Regards.
  2. My way of saying thank you is buying the product. I was not referring to the quality, don't get me wrong, which by the way is more than I could ask for a desktop simulator! We live in the simulators' golden age. I don't know if the cost for the product is compensatory for the devs, but everyone picks their jobs. We can talk about costs, of course, I could tell you about my job flying at night in bad weather, sometimes over the water, trying to save someone... We all choose jobs, sometimes it's not about the value of money that we do it. Anyway, my way of thanking is buying the product. If something is not right with it, I try to help, free of charge, to make it better. Regards. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. Do you realize that most of the people who are criticizing the FM have real life experience and that they are not criticizing anything else? Do you realize that the same people that criticizes this module is because they want it to be better? Also, everyone had the opportunity to see how good it already is, so this is stating the obvious. I am tired of people trying to sabotage the good and constructive criticism that people with real experience have and share to make modules even better. I am tired of Good Samaritans saying thank you for a job that is being payed. Why no one ever thanks me and others who takes free time of charge to test a module and write about it here to make it even better. What I am sad is the comparison you and others make between those who criticize vs those who say thank you. Also no one said it can't fly the Gazelle. They said it flies strangely for a helicopter with its characteristics. I am really tired of posts like this. Be professional because the module is not free, saying thank you for a think that costs money is... Strange. Sorry but I am tired of people that do not contribute with anything to make things better and come here criticizing who tries to do. I could also come here and say thank you. That is easy. Harder is testing this software and trying to explain by words what in your opinion based in your real life experience and knowledge what should be better. That's one of the reason I am a lot reserved in giving my opinion in what I know how to do... Flying helicopters professionally. Kind regards.
  4. One thing that all my flight instructors always told me... Never, never out of dust conditions takeoff quickly with a helicopter. All kind of problems arise from that, from rollover to lack of precision flight. The only time you jump to the air, is in the case where you are absolutely sure the skids are free and you belive will encounter dust conditions (brown/whiteout), and even in those cases you must pay great attention to the limits of the machine. With the FM right as it is: - Takeoff with both skids parallel to the ground; - No blowback effect; - Funny behaviour during turns, sometimes it seems the vertical fin has effectiveness, others it seems it doesn't. - Attitude of fuselage and rotor, seems the same, great loss of lift during turns or dive recuperations; - Collective response seems slow; - Lots of vibration during hover, please ask maintenance to balance the blades! I'm sure the helicopter vibrates a lot, specially during the flight transitions. Seems a little overdone in hover situation. I'm sure there are more things I encounter with this helicopter. Some tunning and this will be a great helicopter module! Continue the great work.
  5. +1, I feel like this too... Maybe there is something with the lift vector. Because in a recuperation maneuver from a 30º dive, unless you level off or rise the nose above horizon, this helicopter will not climb, that and also 80 to 90% torque. Most of the times I do not anticipate this fully and hit hard with the skids or else with the tail and boom! Also, sometimes I feel like the response from the collective is somewhat delayed...
  6. Easy. Wait for more reviews when the product is finish, then make up your mind. Until that moment, you have a early access model or/and a beta product, with that comes a lot of things that needs to be fixed like any other product in beta.
  7. Ok, thank you for your comment. I fly the AS350 B2 and also B3 (2B and 2B1) with a couple hundred hours of experience in type, we all agree that is a light turbine helicopter, and in some maneuvers that I've tried with the Gazelle, it does not react like it nor like other smaller and bigger helicopters that I have flown and in those maneuvers, all react the same, regardless of artificially assisted flight or not. That is only talking about conventional helicopters (1 main + 1 tail, rotor). Also, I am not saying that it does not behave like a small turbine helicopter should behave, what I said was that in some maneuvers, based on my RL experience, it does not respond like it should be expected. If I had to guess, I would say that is 10% of the FM that is off a little bit. Again based in how conventional helicopters normally fly. But again, I have never flown a Gazelle before, and Polychop is currently working with real life Gazelle pilots, which they have experience to talk about. Don't make this thread a "it's all wrong with the module" one. It is not and I am sure it is pretty close to what the machine should do. Regards.
  8. Hi, First of all, sorry if this was placed in the wrong part on the Polychop's forum section. Second, it is good to know you are working with a lot of RL Gazelle pilots, and that makes all the difference. No worries about the answer to my question. This was just to talk about the FM, giving you my real life experience, based on other helicopters, not in the Gazelle. That was why I didn't put it in the Bug section, because it might only be a problem based on my own experience in helicopters and nothing more. Thank you for your reply and I surely know you will look for it, and if it is like this, then it's because someone with a lot more experience then me, told you so. Kind regards and continue the great work.
  9. Guys, please don't go OT. No one is talking about "buying VS not buying" (I bought it and just started thus thread to make the module even better) or any other subject but flight dynamics. If you guys don't mind, before giving your opinion I would like to know what are your background (eg. Real life experience, either flight or commercial simulators, etc) and in what you based your opinion on this matter. So far people have done it, but a lot of people just came here and said simple, non objective senteces that just don't make any sense to me. As I said, for me, it is not behaving like I would expect from a real helicopter flight, based on my real life experienced and the other modules. Regards. Sent from Tapatalk via Samsung Alpha.
  10. Be also aware that I am using a force feedback joystick. Just set it up externally to have centering force.
  11. Hi guys, Just bought your module tonight. In all honesty I must say you did an amazing job capturing the soul of this helicopter. Except, I don't feel her! Just to let you know my background, I'm a RL helicopter pilot working for civil market, the TR I flew are AS350, AS365, R22 and R44, with a couple hundred hours scattered on those types, most of my flight time is in the Dauphin and 350 in FF nowdays. Please have in mind I never flew in a Gazelle, but I'm supposing that it has flight characteristics from both the 350 (though the Gazelle must be more rigid like the rotor of an Alouette III) and the fenestron from 365, although much smaller in the Gazelle. I am also taking into account all the hardware problems associated with the desktop PC, this means, the lack of precision and the lack of sensations. What I meant by not feeling her, is that I don't feel I am flying a helicopter. Something I felt with Huey, Mi-8 and Ka-50. The responses from the helicopter are not those that I would except in real life (albeit all the differences between types, just talking about non artificially stabilized flight), specially in turns, it feels like it doesn't have a vertical stabilizer. I know that the Gazelle one is small, and probably, has something to do with that, comparing it to the size of the vertical structure of the 365, that is massive, but I really feels like it lacks the feeling of flying. Also when using stabilization, it's like the SAS is fighting with me and not helping me at all flying the aircraft. For sure, when I fly the Dauphin without SAS (CPL) on the aircraft is more responsive to inputs by the pilot, but it's not like fully mad! :P When in coupled mode, the aircraft is really smooth and stabilized, and in the Dauphin you use the beep trim or trim release to get rid of the forces, but its really smooth. In the 350, the aircraft its really more nervous, the inputs by the pilot feels more immediate, also it's almost half the mass of the Dauphin. The Gazelle, I suppose to feel like the 350 without SAS on, but with it on, more like the Dauphin. I didn't tried any advance maneuver, such as auto-rotation or any other emergency. I don't want you guys to this that this is bad criticism, it is not. I'm just hoping you guys can make it work better, or feel better. I will try it with curves, to see if it feels better, but I am almost sure that is doesn't, because I never used curves for the Huey, and it is a non SAS bird, direct hydraulic control. Just my thoughts, don't know what others think and I am really curious to ear about real Gazelle pilots and what they think of it. Kind regards and continue the great work.
  12. It's crazy how fast hardware become obsolete now days. It's a lot to invest. Does anyone know what will be the trend of new tecnology in the next two years? Meaning, will the i5 and i7 price be lower or will it remain the same? How much do you think my current hardware would sell on second hands? Thank you guys. Sent from Tapatalk via Samsung Alpha.
  13. I strictly said I was not blaming anyone and you come to say I am blaming ED? No, sorry pal, again... I am not blaming anyone. Probably I blame time passing by. :P
  14. How much did you invest in your PC?
  15. Well, I guess I have to sell all the modules, because I cannot afford a new PC. My internet test says 100+ Mbps. I wondered if the problem is exclusively that of my hardware, since when flying solo, in the missions, I don't get this kind of behavior. But you are correct, my PC is below minimum specifications required to have a good experience. Regards.
  16. Hi all, Am I just the only one or there are more folks around here who thinks Beta 1.5 is really frustrating? My experience in TAW server... Took off with a Mig-29S and started to stalk via mountain valleys, then when I approach the targets, a huge, but I mean, HUGE break! Then, after a few seconds, dead on the ground. Each time it's all the same. I'm starting to think about changing over 1.2 again, are there any servers left on the stable version? A flight simulator with this performance, kind of sucks, because it is really frustrating to fly a lot of time and then dead hitting the ground... Not blaming anyone, but me, sure 1.5 is great and 2.0 is also great, but as long as it is like this, no thanks. After the initial wipe of the visuals and map, when it starts to matter the MP, then is a game killer. Huge about of memory being eaten all the time. Anyone also has this experience? Regards.
  17. Hi all, Does anyone also encounters the PK-3 lacking effectiveness against infantry and soft targets? I know it's a 7.62 weapon but last night I was attacking an infantry group with it and I've made 5 passes by the book with a 20º dive and I never got an infantry unit... And I tried with a fuel truck too, and nothing happened. Do you guys experience the same? Probably it's normal since the weapons caliber. I switched to the 23 mm barrel, Gsh-23, and they were devastated. :joystick: So, what is the good use of the PK-3 pods? Regards
  18. There is a lot of information about SAM sites around the internet. Some even depicts the units positions and distances from each units. Take a look around and I'm sure you'll find. http://www.ausairpower.net/sams-iads.html
  19. Hi there, Hope you guys read this and try to make some minor adjustments that will make DCS a better software overall. I've been using 1.5 beta and 2.0 alpha, but most of the type in 1.5. I've been "simming" online and there are a few things that I would like you could change, goes as follows: Make available the options menu in multiplayer (MP). It is really annoying to have to go back out of the server just for one simple bind. Force user side cockpit language in MP. Correct FFB problem in MSFB Sidewinder, multiple axis are inverted or switched between X and Y, which means that when you trim UP and DOWN you feel force change in LEFT or RIGHT. Please, please, please, give us a refresh Track IR button, so we are able to refresh it instead of closing up the sim and open it again... With the loading times I get, it's pretty annoying too. Other less important features but it sure would be welcome are: In multiplayer/singleplayer include a proper mission planner. If possible include a data cartridge, with all the player differences/marks that he can upload open entering the aircraft, for data cartridge aircrafts. For the others, put it in the kneeboard. The sim as it is, it feels to technical. Meaning that is no different between my RL sim training sessions. There is a lack of content, generally speaking, in regards to missions, as far as I know. There are a few more things that I don't remember now, but as soon as I do, I upload the lists. Regards.
  20. And you are probably right.
  21. Just for your information, the first picture in my humble opinion is from a cockpit used with X-Plane's Viggen, I remember to see a video with it. Also you can look at the MFD's and see the X-Plane icons. Can't find the website though... The simulator: The real one:
  22. Hi guys, Can anyone make a tutorial about using Model Viewer and how to load custom made textures? Thank you in advance. Regards.
  23. For sure the update made the simulator stutter a lot. If I only would have known... Sent from Tapatalk via Samsung Alpha.
  24. I think they should put a 3D helmet in the cockpit seat/wall, so that you could click on it an put the helmet on. That way you could hear the machine while starting and then put the helmet and have the sounds muffed like real life. Just my 2 cents.
