  1. No other channel takes DCS to such extremes. It doesn't really matter if it's reality based or not, it shows how DCS performs, it's greatness and it's limits foremost. If you like the content idea itself is a different thing.
  2. Either way, AMD just announced the specs for the 7000 X3D chips and I would wait and see how they performs before I'd buy any other CPU right now. That smallest, 7800X3D with only 1 CCD, makes the most sense for gamers I guess. Looking forward to see that thing being tested.
  3. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if the Pin-20 complexity plays a bad trick on the PCB. I know from my own experience and from Dell technicians I met that a "wrong" DP cable can ruin your GPU, CPU and motherboard in certain cases and combinations. Maybe one of those Repair Gurus with way more understanding of circuits and PCBs will dig into this and enlighten us.
  4. There are games and sims where imho you clearly see a difference, racing sims come to my mind at the #1 spot for that. In DCS it really depends, if you like the Viggen at Mach 1 tree top level, fps counts more than anything, if you are flying a heli 60 is ok but you "feel" the better, smoother response at higher fps, with a Warthog at 20k feet scanning for targets you likely won't miss fps. Track-IR users tend to lock at 60 or 120 fps if they can get that high. When I fly DCS I lock it to 60 and my 1080ti can still hold the candle at my settings( she goes mostly 90% +load tho ), when my kids play minecraft, SpinTyres, FarmingSim et al = 60 ! ( saves a lot of Watts ! ), when I race the Nürburgring in ProjectCars2 it's full 144Hz/fps, full heat and wattage too.
  5. Seriously, this is all getting pretty hilarious. If that was the car company sector, heads would roll, but here, no signs of guilt or regret anywhere. How low can it go ?
  6. All those discussions turn somehow south ?! It ain't fun to follow discussions when some people takes it all over & over again... I will block some from now on, maybe that helps..LoL
  7. It clearly shows, despite all doubts, that QC is a thing of the past. How can such things happen in masses. Der 8auer alone had 48 guys writing him... I doubt it's a bad batch, I fear a design flaw.
  8. If there are any, the only thing you should NOT do, is post them online !!!! Switch brains ON Happy New Year 2023
  9. In my understanding of that Address list, most of your open connections in that list are home users with their cable/dsl ISP. Possible explanation, those are DCS Players in MP scanning available servers....
  10. I think that's a thing of the past with early Serial #'s. If it still was a thing, bet that THIS forum would know it.
  11. I try to keep it as simple as possible to make something out of it.... tho I have a terrible flew and my head feels like 2m wide Any service on a network needs one or more ports and a port can only be used by one service. DCS uses several ports with multiple protocols, 10308 tcp & udp for gameplay, 10309 tcp & udp voice. It also uses other ports but those do not need to be opened to the public network for various reasons. 5222 XMP is outbound only, same for 80 & 443, all tcp. You do not need and actually should not open those incoming ports at all. You may want to open the WebGUI to public but I think that is not such a good idea, use VPN instead and allow only local WebGUI access. What is a DMZ or Demilitarized Zone: It means that any Machine you put in there is NOT protected by the Firewall but directly accessible on all 65535 Ports by anyone from the public net. Not a good idea in 99% of scenarios. Strictly only allow ports and protocols inbound that you REALLY need for: anonymous/world/POSSIBLE_BAD_GUY connections. examples: Mail Server : 25 or 465 or 587, the 3 relevant Mail ports, all tcp Web Server: 443 nothing else only 1 https, tcp DCS Server 10308 tcp & udp simualtion service 10309 tcp&udp voice service When you open those ports, they bypass the firewall and only a unknown to me firewall that could sense the DCS net-protocol in its Application Proxy could maybe control DCS netstreams. Only a handfull of games, mostly web based games, are pre-included in high end firewalls with such filters. I havent seen DCS among them in the list. Use well protected Remote Services only. Teamviewer ( might need a license ) or VPN + RDP.
  12. Never ever allow RDP 3389/tcp directly from www-->srv . That was bound to fail. Check if your Router supports a VPN and use that for your pal. With VPN, RDP is no security issue. Just don't open 3389/tcp on the router for any given Windows machine inside your network !!!!!! I use a professional Teamviewer subscription mainly but also use VPN-RDP for some clients sometimes. You can try Teamviewer for private use for free and see if it works consistently or starts to say " suspect professional use..." and cut off. If you do too many different PC's it will act up and moan but its ok for occasional usage to a rather short list of PC's. Windows in not per se insecure, it is as safe as you make it or as unsafe as you let it be. If you only open the DCS ports in your firewall to the specific DCS-SRV it is ok, just do net set that machine into a DMZ, that would be a disaster of the highest order. Use a Windows SRV over a Windows Client, disable services, keep it sleek. Maybe invest in another router if yours does not offer VPN. * Any Backup on any internal or USB drive would be encrypted too !! My tip: Use a backup software that can use SFTP ( Acronis ) and connect to a NAS that only runs SSH service, no Windows File Sharing service activated. That is how I secure my clients on premise Backups. Seen a lot of encrypted servers, it's not funny at all, it is disgusting and utmost criminal.
  13. Haha ! Who would have thought that could be an issue ?
  14. iirc that is an old issue that's been solved long ago with a new MS scheduler introduced in one of the Builds that followed after the Ryzen release. .
  15. ^^ SAME HERE running it on multiple machines since preview/beta phase and no real issues with it, neither with 10 on numerous machines, both are very reliable if you pick the right HW and treat them right. If you do the bad stuff yourself, no OS will be better or worse I am afraid and may add. Haven't personally had someone say" put 10 back on there", they all liked it and honestly, it is not much different in how you approach your PC and use it. My advice is, move forward, Win10 has 2025 as EndOfLife date btw.
  16. Ed, if I understand you right, your issue is actually a "common" thing with most modules that haven't been configured yet with axis and buttons. All you have to do is to edit the controls for Axis. There, make sure that Rudder only does the rudder function ( no tilt, no roll, no yaw and no throttle ). Do the same for every other input axis. Throttle lever only does throttle axis, none other.. It is self-explaining once you are in that menue. Sometimes you have to revert the axis, i.e. for left and right brake, they often are inverted by default and thus always locked/engaged. Either way, when you are IN THE COCKPIT and move the rudder pedals, ONLY the rudder pedals on your screem should move, no stick and no throttle and no other function that may use an axis ( i.e. view distance, radar scan range, turbine power, WWII wingspan dial, etc.. there are plenty among the modules).
  17. Need to have a deeper look at this tonight. I hope it is compatible with my Brave browser.
  18. LoL ! Not even sure if that can all can be fixed with Software, like the idle draw issue.# Oh man, none of those cards really shines, either you accept a potentially dangerous plug but overall great card or take the safer card, for less money too, but that has some quirks too we have no assurance if they can be and will be fixed by Software. Please, 1080ti, last at least ONE more round
  19. OK, I just tried this ^^ and it fixed it for the BS3. I deleted the WH-Throttle and WH-Joystick diff.lua files and instantly my buttons worked as previously assigned. May have to delete the same files in the respective BS2 folder to fix BS2 trim.
  20. Same here, it has the ! in BS3 and BS2 LoL AT first, at least T worked in BS3, when I then checked BS2 nothing worked, not even T.
  21. Same here, tried back and forth, SP and MP, same.
  22. Maybe this can help. If the devices get recognized by a modern Linux kernel, you could try booting a Linux Distro and see if the devices get properly recognized and STAY connected in Ubuntu, or Mint or SuSE, whatever you prefer as a distro. SInce other Windows OS' may share the same USB flaws, it may pay to exclude HW from being faulty. If they stay connected properly in Linux ( or maybe even MacOS ) it is a Windows issue that you can hunt down and cure. If they get recognized but also fail to stay connected on other OS' it likely a HW error. If it happens across different HW and across different OS' itÄs likely a device issue. But as I said, I have no idea if WinWing is supported in Linux or Mac World at all. Others may contribute their experiences. edit* as said above, crank up the power settings across the board. USB settings in device manager as told above and also the whole PC, lift it to High-Performance Mode in Control Panel to eliminate any power savings playing a bad game on you.
  23. true, just what does it actually mean ? Still, you might soon find out, 32GB doesn't cut it in certain conditions.
  24. Yes, your budget needs to be known to frame it.
