Hello I'm just starting to experiment with reskinning the Mustang and have run into a few issues I'm using GIMP and every time I try to open the front fuselage template from ED's downloads section GIMP crashes. Also Theres a hell of a lot of layers and a good few of their titles are in russian so a little tricky for me to work out whats what! I guess what i'm really after is an all english template, which will open in gimp! Can anyone help?

Oh you aren't alone sithspawn. The more spits the better! MkI and MkII are lovely machines, elegant and allegedly a joy to fly. The late marks turning into firebreathing animals with far more vices than the early marks. If I could have any aeroplane added to DCS it would be an F.21 spitfire with contra rotating props.

Aaah i'd love a meteor in DCS. Going head to head with the 262 and seeing if the few advantages of the meteor were enough to give it a way to beat the more advanced, faster aircraft. Or if the 262 was as superior as many believe.

Suspect its for CoG reasons. Get the rear tank down to a level where the CoG is in a favourable position without the drop tank. So if engaged by the enemy you ditch the tank and have less to worry about with the CoG.

Try to poke more holes in them than they poke in me! Seriously though my biggest tip is teamwork and numerical superiority. Skill comes second. Also resisting the urge to chase down and finish damaged enemy. That just makes you an easy target for his friends. Stall prevention for me is 1 notch of flaps if maneuvering hard and FFB. Cant overstate how much of a help FFB is. Gunnery: learn the gyro site and dont zoom in too far when shooting. You just over-control and spray bullets everywhere. Slight zoom. Size reticle to target wingspan and pull the reticle through the target tail to just ahead of his nose. Generally i will fly a lag persuit until im happy I can pull lead for gunnery. To be honest I always felt the original rewards were too generous from a business standpoint. As a consumer I loved them though. I agree that it would be nice to be able to choose which aircraft you recieve in the lower tier rewards, but hey. I'm more relieved things are moving foreward than dissapointed that i've "lost" something I "paid for". I understood when I backed that there were no guarantees and when Ilya dropped the ball I knew all bets were off when it came to rewards and timescales.

Know what would solve all this? If it were possible to model multiple fuel and powee adders for all the aircraft it was an option. I doubt thats possible though.

It seems kinda pointless to argue right now over aircraft performance before anyone has had the chance to actually try ED's work... They might actually get it right you know! If it ends up with a spit featuring an "i win" button and 109 that flies like a frozen chicken then its time to get worked up.

Will be popping over to get my hands on the Dora and Sabre... Did I imagine it or did you just confirm the second aircraft in line in the warbirds package? BEARCAT! Oh also do ED give you anything in return for your work promoting their products and other 3rd parties work? Or is it more "whats good for ED and others is good for VEAO too"
