The Mig21Bis is the sweetspot for me. Complex enough to be a challenge but simple enough to just strap on and fly.

Try disabling aero interface. I gained a few fps doing that.

Getting to be reasonable at no-wind landings now. Just use waay too much runway as I flare but daren't reduce throttle much. Touching down 100m short of midway mark usually so its a good job the chute works so well!

Stunning looking skin snowsniper! Wonder why this wasn't a feature of the stock skins? Especially as the preview videos of the sabre featured some extremely shiny metal!

I assign zoom to a spare axis on my throttle or stick. Or just to a pair of buttons for in and out on the stick if you lack spare axis.

Ive had most success with higher than reccomended landing speeds as I find I tend to get a tail strike as I flare otherwise!

Also having trouble with GCI. The radar station appears on the comms menu but only occasionally will hitting F7 open the next menu, and I've not yet ever got a reply from them

Interesting findings guys. My gut feeling was that the mig seems a little underpowered but its good to see some people being scientific about it!

Looking foreward to Mig 21 integration! I still have the odd problem with Aries Arbourne Radio not finding my Export.lua but it seems to work! (just i can't turn the plugin off it seems without physically removing it from the TS3 plugins folder!)

Good to see LN are working to improve an already great product:) Regarding the performance... I'm actually finding the mig to be OK. The only module I have where enabling mirrors doesnt knock 15fps off straight away! But improvement is always good! Gotta get a solid 75fps for oculus rift!

Cannon. Planes don't fly so well with big ragged holes in em. Whats the muzzle velocity of the various weapons? I suck at deflection shooting with slow rounds :(

I'd like to see locking onto the sun.... GAR-8 does still lock. Saw a sabre take out 2 aircraft with just one missild last night but people were saying its harder to lock now.

It has radar ranging. Bunyaps preview vids show how it works

Haven't managed to kill the engine yet. Something to try when I get home!

I had a lag induced midair with a sabre. All that happened is a blackout for a few seconds then flying again but with a constant roll.

Tested with G940 alone. No FFB. In logitech profiler you can go to global device options and turn spring effects to 100%. This gives some centering force but a large slack area. SimFFB gives me a more accurate centre and stronger springing effect.

could SimFFB be a temporary workaround? I'll test it myself after work.

mondaysoff you're gonna love them for the huey! Just been flying around in the Mi8 and the precision you can get is pretty good! Can really abuse the collective on takeoff and just hold the nose precisely still. No problems countering torque now.

Was good to meet all the VEAO guys (again). The enthusiasm they show for their work and DCS in general is impressive and I'm sure theres a few more people giving DCS a try because of their efforts at Duxford and other shows!

Also consider VKB's "T Pedals" As they are significantly cheaper than MFG or Slaw pedals. But lack toe brakes. Saitek combat pros impressed me when I tried them at duxford (still prefer the MFG Crosswinds though!) A lot of people use Saitek Pro Flight pedals without issue but I'd spend a bit more on something a little less mass produced!
