  1. I managed to find the BM21 Grad MLRS battery on the sixth or seventh try and flew over them in a most threatening way. (well, I suppose it was threatening because in the previous mission, I was to stop a rebel convoy in the same way) and they did not fire at the friendly outpost again. I also refrained from issuing any radio commands AFTER giving them the first set of coordinates.
  2. This is mission 16 or 17 in the campaign. Basically, you fly an unarmed Mi8 into a combat zone to retrieve a wounded soldier from a forward outpost. You are to deliver this good man to the helipad in Tskhinvali. When you are almost at the outpost, they call on you to neutralize enemy mortar positions shelling them. Having no weapons, Kashtet eventually allows you to call in fire support from your own artillery. The outpost says the enemy mortar position is 5km west of them. But the sim gives you three sets of coordinates to choose from. I always hover near the outpost and give them the first set of coordinates. They fire and the enemy is destroyed. The outpost thanks me for getting rid of the enemy mortars and I move in to land. Just when I am descending, or about to land, there are multiple explosions around the outpost (as from an MLRS system) and they get destroyed. My theory is that the friendly artillery fires at the enemy first and at the friendly outpost second. So I have some questions. Did I do anything wrong here? What set of coordinates should I use to destroy the enemy mortars and NOT the outpost? WHen I locate the enemy mortars on the F10 map, how do I translate those coordinates to the friendly MLRS? In the F10 map, I can sometimes see two streams of rockets. One going to the enemy mortars and one going to the outpost. Any thoughts?
  3. The procedure for firing the 23mm guns are excactly the same as for the rockets. Except you got to set the switch from the first picture of "F-18hornet" to the up position. And don't forget to set your gunsight on the red mark for maximum precision with guns. For rockets, I always set it at 70.
  4. I did not have any issue in this mission. Do you run the latest version of the game? Going in the mission editor and change a few things might work as well. But I am no expert on that. So we have to hope that some helpful forum member comes by with instructions on how to fix it.
  5. I'm not sure what was diffrent, but this time I was able to complete the mission with the above mentioned *fix*. :)
  6. It would be interesting to know what exactly happens during a "repair" in the field. Because of my take-offs and landings being rough sometimes, I determined that one or more of the antenna's of the doppler and/or radar altimeter system can be knocked off. I never bothered to wait for a repair, landing without those instruments is not very difficult.
  7. Are all of the circuit breakers in the "up" position?
  8. Cr@p, just did that and I was able to pick-up the crew from the crashed Mi28. But now I can not end the mission. Even after I radioed the pick-up and landing back at base... Sigh...
  9. You can always re-arm yourself at Leningor with whatever weaponry to your liking and shoot the damn bastards. :pilotfly: Altough I haven''t found any enemies on this map at all. I will try the solution from PB0_CEF. Since Im pretty stuck at that mission as well.
  10. This didn't make any sense on my mobile. But with the subtitles on, it is very informative. THANKS!
  11. Nailed it this time. Thanks for all the advice. The mission looks quite simple, to shoot up some static vehicles. But the design of the mission is pretty refined, altough somewhat annoying, having to wait for the weapons hot and losing the permission to shoot. Now I'm off to exchange the pots in my joystick for HALL sensors. ;)
  12. Maybe he is a Canadian pilot in training? Canadians are using Mi17's in Afghanistan IIRC :pilotfly:
  13. I also had this problem, will try it out definitely. :pilotfly: Also, at some point in the mission, I have to contact "Buran". (Comms menu + F10) But I can not bring up the comms menu? It works fine in other missions...
  14. Ever played F-15E strike eagle II? It was a fun game for a while. Fixed load-out with 4 amraam, 4 sidewinder and 6 maverick. Then I discovered that the game allowed you to destroy airfields with the M-61 :music_whistling::lol: You just sprayed it with bullets and "whoop" target destroyed message :smilewink: I never touched it again
  15. I just finished one, here it is :smilewink: I labelled all of the keys I mapped so, you might want to check it out in the saitek profiler first. Much better then poking all the buttons in the game and see what they do :pilotfly: There are two things you should keep in mind. 1. You must have mouse look enabled so that the tiny stick on your throttle can be used to look around. I mapped all of the hatswitches with other buttons 2. I don't know if it will interfere but I recommend that you clear all of the assigned X52 buttons in the input section of the game. I assigned hatswitch 1 to trim the aircraft but lock-on maps it to look around the cockpit. I didn't want any conflicts and cleared all of the X52 button assignments in the game. lock-on.zip
