  1. There is a mod out that let you carry the AIM-9M and P on the F-86. They fire (and hit) without any problem, so For the MiG-21, it should be possible too!
  2. Can you post the mission file to the forum? We can test out the mission to see what is going on.
  3. I am not sure if this has been brought up before, but why not add keys and an "Axis" for controlling the PKV gunsight? I use quite a lot of diffrent weaponry on the Mi-8 and sometimes I need to change the depression angle/Mills setting of the PKV. And I think it makes sense to have it as an "axis" so i can map it to a slider on my joystick setup.
  4. The exhaust smoke on the MiG-21 stops when you switch on the afterburner, making you LESS visible in a Dogfight. :)
  5. Hey, that is actually a very good idea! What kind of USB controller do you use?
  6. AWESOME!!! Will be Waiting for the MiG-21 support ;)
  7. Not my fix, but it helped me a lot! I had a similar problem and I have a solution. First make sure you have your activation key handy somewhere. (in an email or a textfile) Then, startup "regedit" and look for this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Leatherneck Simulations\DCS:MiG-21 BiS\Keys Delete it. quit the regedit program. Start-up DCS world and select any MiG-21 (quick)mission. DCS will ask for your key again. Copy and paste it from your Email or text file and you should be ready to fly.
  8. Try to de-activate and re-activate the module through the module manager. Might help. Or if you won't want to risk disturbing anything, just leave it be. As long as it is working...
  9. It was not my original solution. It is not my original idea. But so many bug-threads pop-up all over this forum in so many places that this little gem of knowledge easily gets lost. Happy flying!

  12. Agreed, an elevator trim wheel (axis) would be much more convenient. But for some reason, the soviet decided to put it on a knob on the flightstick. I use the Hat2 switch for trimming without problem. (see pic below) But I never really fly straight and level for very long. I don't think you can do much about it. As far as I know, The -21 was never intended to fly straight and level for very long anyways.
  13. I don't know. There should be something in the trainingsmissions at least!
  14. There is something in the manual about that. I think it is a feature, not a bug. Something about the transmitter for the signal being a little beside the runway, not actually on it. A degree or two offset is normal.
  15. With the first MiG landing (the camouflaged one) in the vid that Dr Arrow mentioned, you see a bit of wobble on touch-down. NICE! MIG isn't really hard to land. I generally decent around 350km/h. This way, you can see the runway pretty clear and the airplane isn't too hard to keep in the air. I don't know what the actual touch-down speed is in my landings since I am too busy flaring (but not flaring too much, or the aircraft starts to climb again) 1m/s is still around 180 Feet/minute. Wich doesn't really sound terrible precise. But it is hard to read the VSI in the MiG. What is the recomended nose-up attitude for touching down?
  16. Well. We have a few sims that let you fly the Cessna just perfectly. Why don't you try those? ;) (Xplane, FSX/Prepar3d) Honestly, I like to play FSX just once in a while. Just to relax and have some fun in a flying boat or some bush-plane. It is a different kind of flightsim. One where you don't have to worry about getting shot down.
  17. Well. I don't particular like to have one of those new fancy-@ss MiG-21's with their digital cockpits and HUD. But the airplane sure can use some kind of a BVR like missile.
  18. Might be a keybinding issue. Try to (unbind) all keys related to trim and only re-bind the keys you want. Also, I don't think trim-on-a-slider will work.
  19. Switch it off and see what happens when you "rearm"! ;)
  20. I got a few issues with the MiG-21 campaign. The first thing I noticed at the first mission, me and my wingman got Russian skins. These are very beautifull and all, but in the second mission, the enemy has russian skins as well. Not that it matters a lot because you'll be flying and fighting in such a way that skins don't matter a lot. But it is a matter of principle. Aren't "We" supposed to be Southeria and "they" supposed to be Northeria or something? Second issue, I die a lot. I am pretty used to Il-2 Sturmovik kind of sims and most of the time, I get killed by some BVR missiles I never saw coming. In the second mission, the AWACS is yelling constantly at me. But I don't know what it means. I figure he is shouting about incoming contacts. So when he says "blablabla at 30.000" I want to get up at an altitude of 9km and flip on the radar. I really can't see anything up there and I get blasted out of the sky again. In short, a few pointers on how to 'survive' in an abstract environment would be very helpful. Third issue, when I die, I can not re-fly the same mission. The campaign resets itself and I have to start at mission one again. Any hints are appreciated! :pilotfly: p.s. I did the Mi-8 campaign and I had none of the "campaign reset" issues. So I think the campaign is a little bugged. I love flying the Mi-8 in the campaign and I think I am pretty good at it. (Landing on tiny buildings and in bad weather)
  21. Isn't it just the tip of the rotorblades going through the speed of sound while the rest of the blades are sub-sonic?
  22. My pics. I used photoshop to some extent to enhance the colors.
  23. At least with the cougar, you had a vast space in the stick base to do all kinds of tinkering. I modified my cougar with diffrent kind of spring system, just like the "evenstrain" mod. But that fancy Warthog stick looks like it doesn't have any room to spare in the base.
  24. Once you open the stick up, it will be easy to see what is broken. Opening up the joystick voids any waranty. So you must get a replacement first. Try Emailing the vendor first.
