  1. Here is an image of one of the prop issues in dcs, you can see lines disturbing the image. In VR this looks horrible and creates a weird looking effect, along with getting random visual issues in the prop when flying.
  2. Have you not put the thought that you might be uninformed? A turbine engine is not a comparison to a prop. That is the subject matter at hand here. It is clear people don't see everything the same, It is also apparent there are lots of people on here who are defending something they don't have first hand experience with. Which is pointless for bug reporting...
  3. So you are contradicting right there. We have been told to go off the words of Nick until we just pointed out other things that are not correct so you tell us it isn't finished, its one or the other. The P47 is great, we are just pointing out inaccuracies, which I am try to point out aren't just for the P47 but for the prop aircraft in general. Nothing is perfect, we are providing feedback from real world prop experience.
  4. At what point has Nick ever said the prop visibility in dcs is true to life? If you don't belive us jump in an aircraft and have A look yourself. I'd love to be able to prove it to you but every video shows the props due to the shutter speed.
  5. +1 Just spent 4 hours in a da42 this morning. Can confirm the prop was almost completely transparent. We must have something wrong with our eyesight!
  6. Yes, that's correct. However the prop in dcs is far too dark and stands out more than in real life. It shouldn't obstruct viewing.
  7. Ah brilliant, thank you for the information! Whilst the prop effect is cool from a cinematic perspective, it is no way near any form of reality. Going to try this mod. Devs - please look at implementing a more realistic prop into every aircraft.
  8. It will also effect the low speed handling qualities of all the aircraft, coming in under the drag curve with high power for example.
  9. The only time you see any effect from the rudder is when you have some airspeed. Not when you have a high power setting and are at a stand still. With a high power setting and the tailwheel unlocked, the airflow created by the propellor will be enough to turn the aircraft, this does not happen. I'm not talking about using differential breaking or about prop wash onto other aircraft, but how the prop was effects the rudder of its own aircraft. If someone can demonstrate that it does I'll be happily proven wrong, but at this moment in time I'm away from my pc so I cant show you
  10. Well, I am a pilot so I'd say I know what a prop looks like. I never said they are invisible, but what I am saying is they are not moddled correct in the sim. They are modelled as if you are watching a video playback with a shutter speed, you can see this as the rpm increases and it looks like the prop changes direction. Something that the human eye doesn't see. When looking through a propellor you can see that is is indeed there, but it isn't as visible in dcs.
  11. [CHECKING] Propellor is unrealistic As with most of the new prop modules the propellor visual is completely unrealistic. It appears that you have gone for a look as if we are watching it through a video camera and not as if we are in the aircraft. The way the prop appears to change direction, the darkness of it when it is running. As I am sure you know, in real life you cannot see the propellor very much at all once the engine is running. All this does is waste gpu power and make the aircraft look odd. Plus in VR the prop has all sorts of issues.
  12. As the title states. The airflow created by the propellor does not have any effect on the airflow over the rear control surfaces (rudder and elevator). This can be seen by unlocking the tailwheel (with the tailwheel in the middle). Increasing power and having full deflection, either left or right on the rudder. You will see the aircraft tracks straight, only when airspeed increases do the control inputs have an effect. This is incorrect as that prop produces a lot of airflow that would assist moving on the ground. As far as I can tell this isn't present on any of the prop aircraft. Which is disappointing. Please fix this.
  13. Yeah that's very true. That's why I'm so disappointed. So much promise, but under the surface is the issue
  14. I would get a refund if it was possible. Last year we was told the Yak would be focused on in January, which then moved to 'all our modules will be out of EA by the end of the year' and that could mean anything, who knows if the things will be fixed and implemented.
  15. Bump, why has this not being verified yet?
  16. Just like the Spitfire the P51 can be overprime, can we get engine fire effects to match?
  17. This is why we need a more dynamic startup procedure. That goes for all aircraft in dcs. None of them should start the exact same each time, each airframe will have its own nuances etc. Like this, some should require more primer, some won't. Some will smoke a lot in start, others won't.
  18. I would love to upgrade from my ffb sidewinder. However as explained in my of my past posts there is a known issue with dcs and ffb that means using the trim with a curve set can make it very sensitive. This needs to be fixed for a new ffb
  19. Hi, Yes I agree with you regarding the actual engine sound. However the tire noise is way too loud and the sound of other aircraft over my own is off.
  20. Yeah maybe my choice of words to describe the engine sound is off. Also around Duxford you can hear the b-17 which has the same engine sound really. Expecting a roaring noise but it's actually pretty quiet
  21. Hello, I would like to request that we have the option for a different propellor model for all the prop aircraft in game and any future one. A prop model similar to the one of the p51 would be best. This is down to the well known issue that the propellors of all aircraft apart from the p51 have been causing fps drops. That and along with the effects that ship with some of the props (that make it looks like we are watching a video with a set shutter speed, instead of seeing it with our eyes) makes the current props less than diserable in vr. It would be better to have this standardised prop than having them be slightly different in the way they are modeled depending on when they are released.
  22. To add to this, I have noticed that when the canopy is open I can hear aircraft that are at a distance from me louder than my own engine
  23. Disregard, i have discovered it is due to not locking the priming pump. I'll leave this up for others.
  24. Issue with the p47. No matter what the prop setting, fixed, auto etc. The rpm keeps dropping randomly. There is no reason for this. It happens after startup and will continue till after takeoff. Makeing the aircraft unflyable.
