1080 vs 980ti for WQHD(2560x1440)
Jumbik replied to KansasCS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There must be something bad with your DCS installation. Even though I run at 1080p I never went below 50 fps with my 980ti. Maxed settings with 2AA also. The only time when I got to around 20 fps was in corrupted missions that were re-saved from old versions. -
From what I remember there are some quick missions for "some" modules on Nevada. But training missions are missing for example. M2000C should be the first module to have training missions on both maps.

Any chance for the F/A-18D after the F/A-18C release?
Jumbik replied to DimitryNZ's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Too many ifs here. If they would get license for it... If they would have access to a real one... If they counted with it when building C version or else they would have to do it from scratch... If they would be willing to code a single player AI for WSO... etc. F-16C is more plausible in my opinion. -
"Extended Campaign for the F-5E by Maple Flags Missions Developer (not included in the module package)" Does this mean that campaign will be sold separately or that it will be available later as it is with M2000C for example?
-
You can use Steam codes to activate on ED page but not vice versa... so if you want to play on steam only then ignore the ED store completely or you will be really sad about the differences in available modules and prices too. Steam is far behind at the moment with available modules.

If I may add something regarding the F-15 and SU-27... SU-27 is more demanding, its harder to master and requires better situation awareness. But at the same time can give you a lot more enjoyment in my opinion. It's eastern aircraft which means SI units (meters, kilometers etc.). I enjoy flying it a lot more than F-15. F-15 on the other hand is easier to fly and has better tools to have good situation awareness due to the superior RWR. It uses NATO units (feets, miles etc.) and have the feature of fire and forget with Amraams. Both planes can give a ton of enjoyment so maybe buying FC3 would be a better option.

No training missions for Mirage 2000 in DCS World
Jumbik replied to BattleAxes Skinner's topic in M-2000
10 training missions whoa... that's a lot to go through :D -
Welcome to the DCS world. :) 1. Yes, the DCS platform will be free. 2. The final merge to version 2.5 will include Georgia as a free map. 3. Nevada will probably cost the same it does now, check the store. You may also wait for price cuts which are around 30-50%. 4. Yes. FC3 works and will work. 5. Depends on what do you expect from the planes. You should tell us more about you and how you want to play. 6. I would say the Saitek X-52 can give you the most for the money.

No training missions for Mirage 2000 in DCS World
Jumbik replied to BattleAxes Skinner's topic in M-2000
The training missions are also part of the upcoming campaign which the M2000 will have when it will be released out of early access. -
Exactly, the same goes with cars... the fuel consumption charts come to my mind. :D Max. specs are always taken from the best possible conditions and additionally "embellished" up.
-
I'm really looking forward to this plane, but I do not envy you the work needed on flight model. The transition from "hover" to normal flight will be a nightmare to code. I wish you the best with it!

The Russian Knights Su-27 crashes outside Moscow
Jumbik replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Military and Aviation
Too many sad news recently... :( R.I.P. -
F-18 can be used in more scenarios than F-16. It has wider potential customer base than F-16. But of course I cannot tell if it will sell better than F-16 if it will ever be made.
-
My estimation is, that the F-18 was prioritized because they got access to more accurate data, also it will appeal to bigger audience than F-16. Apache and Hind are very limited without AI copilot and dual seat option which started to "work" just recently. Leatherneck sim. are working on AI copilot which with any luck will be possible to adapt to other air frames too.

Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway
Jumbik replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I perfectly understand why he wants to do it this way, because if he woud be selling it one by one, it would never reach the desired value he wanted to get from it... it would simply leak the day he would start selling it and then it would be over for him. He put a year of his free time into it... -
I know... Which does not mean that It would not be "nice" to have F-18 with Hormuz if they will not be able to manage the 2.5 in reasonable time. :music_whistling:
-
Hormuz with F-18C integrated to 2.3 version would be acceptable too. :) But to be honest the current state is really painfull for me and I would really appreciate the 2.5 as soon as possible. Separate settings, controller setups, module installations and the multiplayer server hunt is just bad.

Framedrop from 16:9 1920x1080 to 21:9 3440x1440?
Jumbik replied to Jumbik's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Those are tests from pre 2.0 if Im not mistaken. -
Im thinking of upgrading my monitor to 34" one but I have doubts about my PC being able to handle the resolution. I have one 980ti and Im happy with the performance in DCS now. Does anyone here have also one 980ti and plays on 34" 3440x1440? What fps do you have with all settings maxed except AA? I suppose I will be able to drop the AA with such high pixel density or not? Any information is welcome. I know i could get gsync monitor and not care about fps too much but the prices of such monitors are a bit absurd at the moment.

Additional Voice Actors Needed - DLC Campaign
Jumbik replied to Ranger79's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Any European accent? There is like 20+ accents to be found in Europe. :) I have a Czech one for example. -
You can force the "true" full screen by LALT+ENTER. It works for me.
-
It's the main thing they are working on now, or at least it was stated. I suppose they want to make the platform feature full and introduce new "early access" model (was also stated in newsletter) so they can release new beta and aplha modules on Steam also.
-
Wondering if the same thing happened to you. Nvidia drivers vs. multimonitor vs. windows 10 and disabled previous versions ... :D
-
Tesselated mountains and new textures for buildings would be great. Caucasus looks great even now so I'm very interested in how they want to improve it even further.
