  8. I agree, “kudos” and welcome to the community since it’s your first and hopefully not your last post, enjoy your stay. Cheers :D
  9. LOL, here patch, whistle... Come and get it, or come and get me would be more accurate ;)
  10. Another suggestion would be to verify if your motherboard has BIOS upgrades available. It might be a hardware bug… EDIT: I have to admit, your hardware specs are minimal by today’s standards, hopefully you will be able to isolate the issue. Report back, will try too assist you more if possible… Process of elimination, is the way in troubleshooting anything PC wise :smilewink: I might suggest you post your dxdiag.txt, complete as a attachment. Allowing us to get a real picture of your system. Another tip, ensure your DirectX is up2date, sometimes libraries gets conflicted, I always run a directx update after any new game installation. You can get this here; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en. Also before installing new drivers you might try a driver cleaner, to clean up old files, preventing conflicting issues... You might want to try http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D---Driver-Sweeper-(Setup)_d1655.html Driver Sweeper... Good Luck Regards, The Real ''Moose'' ;)
  11. Same here, I initially was able to host without any issues. Now, unable too, even taken out my router from the picture and the issue had remained. Seems sporadic as well as far as I can tell.
  12. Your on Xp, humm this makes it a bit difficult to isolate the issue, since I never had issues with Xp. Under vista, well, I would have recommended, if you’re new sound card is a creative lab, to make sure DCS is inside your alchemy creative application. That has solved lots of sounds bugs for me. Your error logs points to lots of memory issues. Your issues sounds a bit ''freaky'' have you done a memory test? You can try this free legit app to test your memory; http://www.memtest.org/ Who knows maybe a faulty module could be the culprit...
  13. The fun with DCS is that it allows both abilities, play as “arcardish” as you want or go for a full blown simulator. The pleasure is all yours and the missions are build in flavour of your choice of gamming. I highly recommend it. Was worth all the pennies saved up. Or just I say ''credit'';) Since purchasing online requires a credit card...
  14. I recently re install Vista from Xp on my rig. I have the same effect… It’s a paper thin transition. When it occurs, you just need to pause the game and move up from external view to see it. It’s a bit annoying when you fly inside fog banks. I’m still wondering if this is confirmed by ED by being a limitation on the current game engine and if it will be fixed in the future... Will it? Paper thin I would be ok, the issue is there is no transition whatsoever, you see a line of pure on / pure off, it should transition gradually, less making it an eye soar… NOTE to self, avoid fog ;)
  15. I had similar issues with your symptoms, usually when you close the trackIr application, it should turn off the device… I had to re install the drivers in a different directory to fix that problem, as for having the device still turned on even if the pc is shut down? Again I had similar issues as well. But a bios upgrade on my mobo seems to have fixed that one although, not entirely fixed, since my lights on my saitek 45 are still on when it’s shut down. Maybe a defect usb port? Who knows…, but it does not bother me as much. The trackIR would since it tends to generate heat. By the way, way cool to see another “Quebecer” in here :D
  16. I was not aware that 2 different “type” of Nvidia card can run 1 application on a same mobo and run independently… Not SLI since not the same card and with and Intel chipset… ODD to say the least. My hypothesis on your slow down would be the bandwidth bridge between both cards to the cpu. It’s too limited? Was not intended for that purposes? But I’m not sure… I never saw this type of configuration before. Anyhow, nice cockpit :D
  17. Basically there is NO advantages whatsoever of purchasing the DVD besides of having a case. Kind of a bummer
  18. No biggy a mod might merge them both together :D
  19. 3 thread down ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37319 But I agree awesome skin that would make...
  20. I found a new affinity tool, works like a charm  THG Task Assignment Manager http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/bang-dual-processing-buck,815.html
  21. I just tested BS on a Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.6GHz vista, OC at 2.2GHz, wow I was impressed on the results, with the affinity tool. Looks like I might switch to Vista this weekend…. But I fear doing so….

  24. Not sure if this would help anyone, especially hosts. I use a tool that we use to troubleshoot network, VPN, internet connection for accessing different type of applications. The tool in question is legit & free, its open source. http://www.wireshark.org/ Hope this help, doing an analyst might yield some lights on what’s going on. I’m kind of curious on what I’ve read in this thread, so there’s a master server log? Does this log collect and use to redirect input on the screen to clients showing the server available? If so, it uses the same port 10308? Wondering, since I had issues hosting this morning, I tried everything, thought maybe network related, so I by passed my router and connected stand alone, still the people trying to connect to me was not able to see my server in the master list and was not even able to connect direct via IP and I had no firewall enable on that time... Anyhow maybe this tool might help, hopefully ED will get that issue resolve. Cheers
