  1. Confirmed then as Q1 2016. Have to say nothing yet has made me want to wait beyond the Vive release later this year...
  2. Seems like DCS isn't with Oculus at E3 this time around...
  3. It's a strange presentation, which seems to assume most of the audience are new to VR. I guess as a fanboy there is the strong possibility that I over estimate peoples awareness of the potential and functionality of VR. That said, I welcome them taking the time to increase global awareness if it brings prices down and increases sales == increases the potential for display resolutions at a level where DCS becomes real. A man can dream...
  4. If this ever came to actually pass the built in cameras could prove great in combination with a real pit. Of course, they could just be used to track hand gestures and nothing more, which would be a shame. Augmented reality is an area that I see a huge future for both in gaming and in the business/teaching world, so maybe they're looking at getting in to that? Sadly, until they reveal something solid, it's all just pipe dreams and guesswork...
  5. Consider using a shift register. You can daisy chain these to control large amounts of outputs or receive from large amounts of inputs. Much easier using a shield or breakout board, but not as much fun  Smirks
  6. Super! Looking forward to seeing your magic
  7. Ah, this has real potential! Looking forward to seeing where you go with this :D Smirks
  8. Out of interest, how long do you think (rough estimate) it would take you to get Simshaker & Buttkicker working together?
  9. Wow, that really is looking lovely! Very jealous! :D Smirks
  10. Thanks for the swift reply! That's a great lineup of effects, superb work! Expect a donation from me for this worthy cause very soon! On a separate note - I use USB headphones. If I add another soundcard will I be able to drive my Buttkicker at the same time? Currently I need to use a virtual soundcard that duplicates the sound effects to both my USB headphones and to my Buttkicker, which is a real pain and quite temperamental (so much so I have recently uninstalled it).
  11. Hi Andre, As others have said already - great work. I'm looking to donate, but can I just confirm the full list of compatibility options for all DCS mods? Sorry, I've tried to look already but can't find a complete list anywhere. How much of the A10C is outputted by SimShaker? How about the Huey etc? Many thanks, Smirks
  12. Multicrew is hugely exciting. Very much looking forward to it! Overall a great newsletter, thanks!
  13. I think for me the best thing about this short video is that you can the shadows working. Their absence in the current build with the DK2 impacts quite heavily on immersion. It's amazing how much you don't appreciate a good shadow till it's gone.
  14. As has been said a hundred times, great work here! Very much looking forward to trying one out. Sorry if this has already been asked, but are you going to offer extensions too? I would gladly pay for a decent extension for my X55 and I'm guessing (but could be wrong) that a fair few others would like one too? Smirks
  15. It was marked as sold on the 30th March, 2014. I think it might be long gone matey... :pilotfly:
  16. Fantastic, thanks!
  17. OK, that is superb and something I have been after creating for ages! Any chance of doing a little instructable style guide on how to go about making that extension?
  18. I can't wait to fly this multicrew with my long term RIO. We've been looking out for something decent to multicrew together for ages! Amazing news! (I'm keen for A/G, but only because it will give my buddy and I something extra to do, at least until a decent AH comes out).
  19. OK,this is very interesting! Consumer version out in 2015, 90 fps and quite a decent res. Yep, as long as this works with DCS I may very well have to partake! I'm no Oculus fanboy, I just want a VR system that brings my gaming world to life!
  20. Ah cracking, glad you're getting it fine tuned! I may have to try your Nvidia settings to see how they turn out...
  21. Only just found this thread. Looks great! Thanks for this Stretch, will check it out now... Are you planning to update it (if required) for DCS 2 when it comes out?
  22. Saddens me that others have problems with their kit. I've been lucky so far and not needed to do any work arounds like switching off the main monitor or closing down services. I noticed some slight graphical improvement in downsampling but prefer the steadier fps running at normal res. The res does make it a struggle to read the font in the cockpit, but if you know what is where it isn't a game breaker. The immersion I get far outweighs the downsides. Much of it comes from the screendoor effect which apparently is much less in Cove. I have Nvidia 3D vision too, and would still take the rift over it. If I had a full pit of course it might be a different story. However, I am glad that others do struggle with the res. Not because I want you to miss out, but rather because the more people pushing Oculus to up the res the more likely it is to happen. I dream of 4K minimums with 180' FoV - one day... The DK2 is certainly not a retail ready piece of kit, but I guess they never claimed it was. The full retail release version will need to be spot on though for the industry to adopt it like I hope it does.
  23. I just downloaded the two best DCS 2 vids from Wags youtube collection and played them in VR player. Yes, they were in 2D. Yes, they were slightly distorted due to curving inside the player. But my God, they were beautiful! DCS 2 in the Rift is simply going to be amazing!
  24. Cool, glad you got it fixed! Welcome to the new world. Amazing isn't it!
