It isnt pointed at me, but be so kind and tell me when ED said that the old map (Caucasus) would be on new engine? The only info I found about is that thread from Sithspawn. Pls read the line with: "Will the Black Sea map in its current form work with EDGE?" (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121146) This statement and the new WIP pics from WAGS stay in conflict, if you ask me. So it seems, that they will make the Black Sea map work in EDGE, but without re-doing it, of course. We can all wait and see what will happen, though I like the discussion about it and (a little bit speculations) thats all.:)

(I admit that the question sounds a bit odd. It`s just for understanding of the whole EDGE technology picture I have in mind...)

Ok. I once read that EDGE isnt just about new rendering technology but also a "new base" for other features like dedicated server, new infantry animation and multi crew cockpit. Is that somewhat correct?

So speculation is, if I understand correct, we will get DCS:W with a(THE) new rendering engine (image generator) and the Caucasus map in one of the next versions? The benefit of the new image generator is more eye candy and better FPS with the old map?

I would think that ED itself knows the best what is more cost effective / time efficient for them. I´m relative sure that they see beyond one's own nose from time to time and assess other technologies.;) I would really wonder if not.

Ist dein BS2 ne Updateversion, weil du BS1 bereits hattest? Wenn es eine BS2 Updateversion ist, musst du auch zwingend diese Version runterladen und installieren: Upgrade from DCS: Black Shark 1 to DCS: Black Shark 2 (download version) Der Modulmanager (innerhalb von DCS World) unterscheidet vermutlich auch zw. BS1 zu BS2 Update Version und BS2 Vollversion? (habs grad nicht vor mir) Das wäre eine Erklärung warum der Key nicht geht. Eine andere wäre, dass in der Registry ein fehlerhafter Eintrag ist, den man löschen muss. Weiß aber nicht mehr, ob ich das jetzt nicht mit ner anderen Problematik verwechsele. EDIT: Moment, oder kommst du nicht ins P-51 Cockpit? Wüsste nicht was das mit dem BS2 Modul zu tun haben könnte? Du hast LO/FC2 noch parallel installiert in einem anderen Verzeichnis? Weiß nicht was er da mit BS will... Guck mal im LO/FC2 Installverzeichnis ob es dort einen Ordner Ka-50 oder Blackshark gibt. Den dann mal umbenennen.

EDGE SDK was just a thing to quickly raise more money before the end of the KS campaign...IMO.;) I´m absolutely with you DavidRed and all other wo anticipated more/interactive communication. Hopefully Ilya will hear us someday...

BD hat eben ein Problem mit dem DCS Updater. Wenn du nie über den Updater geupdatet hattest, gabs eben auch nicht die Probleme damit. Schau mal ob du DCS_Update.exe usw. (oder den gesamten DCS Pfad) in eine lokale Whitelist oder Ausnahme stecken kannst bzw. ob es so eingestellt ist, dass BD dich fragt, bevor es etwas blockiert. Wenn das eingestellt ist, dann musst du evtl. eine alte DCS_Updater.exe wiederherstellen, da die aktuelle Updater-Datei korrumpiert wurde von BD. Weiß nicht ob das bei allen Windows (bzw. ob Shadowcopy standardmäßig aktiviert ist) geht mit rechter Maustaste auf die DCS_Updater.exe und dann vorherige Version wiederherstellen wählen. Wenn BD dann nicht mehr den Updater blockiert, dann sollte sich dieser selbst updaten können und dann auch dein DCS World.

Schau doch mal ob du DCS via der launcher.exe starten kannst. Sie sollte auch irgendwo im DCS Verzeichnis sein (evtl. in e:\dcs Word\bin). Damit startest du dann DCS direkt ohne den Updater. Habe gerade das hier im engl. Forumsteil gesehen. Ist genau das gleiche was du beschreibst. Wobei ich nochmal frage: Was hast du fürn Virenscanner drauf?

Falls du Lockon installieren wolltest, damit du Flaming Cliffs 3 installieren/registrieren/nutzen kannst, dass brauchst du nicht mehr seit DCS World Version 1.2.7.

Was bedeutet denn bei dir der "plötzliche Verlust der Steuerungsdatei"? Deine Joystickeinstellungen waren weg? Und dann gin die P-51 nicht mehr zu starten? Hast du ein Virenscanner installiert, der evtl. etwas blockt oder abfängt?

Ich würde vorschlagen, probiere es einfach selbst. Du kannst ja mehrere Installationen parallel betreiben. Es gibt immer unterschdl. Meinungen wenn man im engl. Teil guckt, weils ja von der Hardware abhängt. Es kommt auch auf die Situation/Mission drauf an. Z.B. wird in Zusammenhang mit dem Huey und der Mi-8 von schlechterer Performance berichtet... Problematisch sind für mich(bzw. Rechner) immernoch Minigunschüsse und massig Raketeneinschläge.

Fliegerslots wären sehr cool. Rot bräuchte dringend was fliegendes zur Bekämpfung. Würde auch Sinn machen, da sie einen Flugplatz verteidigen.:) Wenn Blau 1-2 Huey`s bekommen würde, dann nimm die Tungis raus. Dann müssen eben die BMPs oder BRDMs versuchen die Huey abzuschiessen, oder die Panzer mit ihren MGs.
