@Wags @BIGNEWY @NineLine Gents, quick question for ED. I pre purchased the C-130 and noticed in early access there was going to be the ability to walk around inside the aircraft and out upon release. I was under the impression ED was waiting on updated tech to accomplish this. Does this mean we could see the same for the CH-47 in a closer upcoming patch, or is this functionality for the ED modules still a ways out?

Just FYI Gents, I am not 100% sure how bad ITJ has been affected by the latest update, however it's not sounding good. Kandy is getting better, and we touched base briefly today via text. Sounds like one of the community members who was instrumental in assisting him on providing scripting advice has encountered some major issues with how ED is coding DCS now to protect their work if I understand correctly (not a coder or software dev). Sounds like some game breaking issues are starting to pop up or could with mod maker or mission developers, so please be advised you may encounter issues with ITJ. I would love to say we will fix them, but from what i understand, the way ED has structured the code now could possibly prevent us from correcting future issues. Hopefully ITJ continues to work, and I will test tomorrow. I did see Bignewy was reaching out to people for feedback, but I am not sure what that entails. More to come.

Best I can suggest for the time being is to go into the mission editor and delete the mods that are no longer working in game. I flew the last two video over the past 2 days and have not run into any issues. I know that's not what you want to hear, but I am having trouble replicating the issue. Also, with ED's new patch this week, we were waiting to see how it affected ITJ I noticed last night the Huey's were dropping out of the sky again. Unfortunately, this is part of the problem building a mission centric around a ton of mods. I have been tempted to scale it back to just the VAP pack, Cayuse, and Bronco. When ViolentNomad releases his Cobra and we push this out again, I will probably remove the static boats you do not see very often and the ones not being used.

Got some F-5 time in!

I can talk to Candy about removing it if its no longer out there. It was really only for looks. Let me see if its no longer part of the link.

Back in the saddle. More to come!

Fare enough. Just trying to see how many people out there would enjoy it. I will save this hype train for another year when ED is closer to having the above missing building blocks if that ever becomes a reality.

@bugeater2 Well GREAT news! Not sure what happened the other day but just made it through an hour of shear chaos on ITJ and got it recorded. No issues this time or hang ups. First flight I fumbled the ball multiple times and got shot down. Second flight rescued my pilot in the Cayuse, dropped him off, then found one of the AAA and took it out before RTB. Third flight was in the OV-10. Took out the group that shot me down in the A-4 but not before loosing an engine and crashing landing. Still survived. Overall, great time jumping back in. I will post the video tomorrow.

MAN!!!!!! I shot a video and decided not to release it until I go back in and test again. I took the A-4 up had a great run and got shot down. Jumped in the Cayuse and tore it up, picked up my pilot, dropped him off, then did some low level stuff and got hit again. Everything was running GREAT with no issues for 45 minutes. Hopped in the Bronco and everything was moving fine until I got over the AO and the flak started. All the sudden slide show city. 1 to 2 FPS if I was lucky. Could not get it unstuck and had to force DCS down. I need to see if this is a flak/asset issue or a Bronco issue. I am going to test again in a few hours. More to come. If there are problems, it may be a long while before anything gets corrected. My wingmen are both in the drink right now with separate issues and have not been on DCS for weeks. Going to be longer before I get the boys back in cockpit. I will see what I can trouble shoot from my end and go from there. I had a blast jumping back in so let see where this goes. We got the F-100 inbound this year and the Cobra. Need to keep ITJ alive.

I started this thread to provide constructive open-source data to ED if anyone finds it for the F-35. I would like to keep it that way please so the community can assist ED if possible. I do not want this thread closed down. I will say as a free content creator, myself, Kandy, and Zipper created the "Into The Jungle" Coop mission that many have run on a dedicated server as well as the ED servers. We have multiple modules on the mission. Some aircraft far exceed others in performance. The key is to provide each player with a role specific platform to their choosing. Ours is a little unique where we do not have opposing red force players but randomized AI units. I have flown on those servers as well though as the red opponent and did not feel cheated. If there are concerns of an unfair advantage on public servers with a superior platform, I would highly encourage you to check out all the open virtual squadrons. There are plenty that range from casual to mid-mil sim, to straight mil sim. This would prevent the concerns you have of unfair advantages when playing on the opposing side. You could also find some people you trust and set up your own server to fly with them. That is what the boys and I do. One more thing I feel I must point out because this is not the first time I have heard it, you are absolutely correct Blue Force units hold the advantage on the battlefield in DCS. It is the same in real life, so in actuality, DCS is crushing it. American Military superiority dominates the red aircraft, so it should not really be a shocker that the F-35 would join that party. If you need real life examples, look at the Air-to-Air combat engagements from Desert storm/Deseret Shield going forward and convince me we have not dominated the skies since. One last keynote. We have never been under any pressure of keeping a server full. Anyone who hosts a server through ED or dedicated is not making money off of it and has no real incentive to keeping them full. A lot of times, its way for friends to link up and fly and most do not go through the hassle of launching a dedicated server or password protecting their ED server. I support the F-35 development and acknowledge it for what it is and will become in DCS. I think you will be just fine continuing to find servers where you are not getting smoked left and right if you are a red force guy. But if that becomes the case when the Lightning II is released, then welcome to 5th gen fighter reality against aging Russian equipment lol.

Here is another one I just flew. Pretty cool There is a camping utility for MSFS that allows you to set up anywhere. Took the UH-1 from the mountains down to the beach and set up camp. Another good flight for the Vietnam vibe. This is Taogs Huey. Made for MSFS 2020 but work with 2024.
-
Planning on testing ITJ tonight to see how its running. In the meantime, Taogs Hangar just released their OH-6A Cayuse for MSFS 2024 if anyone wants to get after it. HIGHLY recommend it. @tobi @Eight Ball If it was not for Tobi/Eight Ball's Cayuse mod, this would have taken longer to get acclimated to. Startup was spot on with their mod. Still have to tip my hat to those guys for the amazing job they did. Wish they could make an official mod like the one below for DCS. Thanks again gents, still continuing to fly her to this day. Still waiting on @ViolentNomad to get his Cobra out (I know he is busy and its still in work)
-
Outstanding to know since they NEVER place anything on sale, NOT ONCE have I seen this, AND they are probably the highest priced aircraft out there for that sim. I have almost pulled the trigger several times, but held off. Flying Iron has crushed the WW2 scene in MSFS. HIGHLY recommend all their products. They are working a B-17 now for MSFS 2024 and then the team said they were redirecting all their focus to wrapping up the A-7. Really impressed with them.

Outstanding find. I wondered how fast this would pop up on here. Plan on picking her up and getting acclimated while the Lancaster team continues getting her ready for DCS. Appreciate this post.

Hook worked fine, it was the pilot who made the error. I had the binding reversed in the wrong direction on my throttle. What I thought was down was up and up was down. It is fixed now. -
Let me take a look tomorrow and see if I am encountering the same issues. I HATE to say this, but since work has been super busy, they guys have been out for personal reasons, and I have been hooked and my lost love (Corsair), it has been a while since I flew it. Let me see whats going on and I will get back with you.

I would like to kick start or re kick start a topic discussing a dedicated Naval module and interest for such future content. Personally, I think there is so much potential out there for WW2 Naval modules and the ability to do them well. I think the incorporation of a Naval simulation to include ships with multiple stations for single or coop play along with submarine warfare would be a game changer for DCS WW2 and maybe even more modern Naval units. There are currently a lot of good WW2 ship museums and documentation out there to be able to utilize for a project like this. Here in Texas, we have the USS Texas (BB35 Battleship), USS Stewart (Fletcher Class Destroyer), USS Cavala (Gato Class sub), and the USS Lexington (Carrier CV-16). The opportunity for 3D scans, photogrammetry, and loads of documentation is abundant. There are many other Naval museums like this scattered around the US as well to include several huge battleships from the war. The purpose of starting this thread is to see if there is interest in these types of modules and to tie Wags @Wags, Nineline @NineLine, and @BIGNEWY in just to keep them in the loop for possible interest. There are some older sims out there I feel started off well and have the foundation of what ED could possibly do and improve upon if they were to go down the road of Naval modules/combat. I will post my videos and ideas in this thread and would highly encourage anyone to do the same if they are interested in seeing something like this in DCS World. I think it's important to keep these ideas flowing so ED can see if there is interest there or not. What I do not want to see is this thread get shut down because someone goes off in the weeds talking sierra. If you think this is a bad idea and do not support Naval modules cool, just say that and be respectful with constructive feedback. I will kick this off with saying a destroyer module would be awesome for the WW2 Pacific and Atlantic maps we have. There is a destroyer sim out there now I will demonstrate in the video below. ED already seems to be on the path of dedicated ship modules with the super carrier. I feel working multiple stations for a dedicated ship module is not an unrealistic goal. The video below was solo, but I could imagine a DCS dedicated ship where coop is optional having someone at the helm, the sonar station, CIC, lookout, weapons systems, ect..... The video below is a taste of what could be an amazing start to Naval modules in DCS World and what it could turn into. Two ships working in coordination to keep Subs away from the fleet would be beyond immersive and fun. Imagine online play where Corsairs are launching to go achieve an objective and maybe through some real time strategy or AI element, subs are sent to attack the fleet and the destroyer have to keep them away or destroy them. I demonstrate this in the video below. Just in this small area it took a lot of coordination and work chasing 2 U-boats around to keep them off the fleet. This could lead into submarine combat down the road where players command U-Boats or US Gato class subs, but at launch, AI subs could be used for the module along with attacking AI ships and aircraft. I think this would be a huge hit and new genre for DCS world.

@Scoobyon Scoobs, any time frame or rough estimate on the old girl? You guys are going to turn heads. Your work is nothing short of phenomenal and already greatly appreciated. Look forward to another progress video.

The F-4U corsair was released by Magnitude 3 and I am landing on the aircraft carrier provided with that module. What I am demonstrating in the videos above is the assets Hawkeye has brought to the table for Pacific AI needs. Eagle Dynamics is going to release a Pacific Asset packs with pretty much everything in it, but Hawkeyes mods are OUTSTANDING if you prefer not to purchase an asset pack. I wanted to promote all the hard work and let everyone know there is a substantial free solution out there that works great. -
I have not done a video on it yet, but tested the AI Mitsubishi Zeroes last night and they work great. I was dumb enough to have 4 take off and patrol the island myself and the bomber group were going after. I extended out ahead of the group to see if the Zeroes took off and began their patrol. When they spotted me, it did not take long to realize I was in trouble. Should be a lot of fun, especially with friends. I will shoot a video tomorrow.

Hawkeyes mods are really underrated right now given the fact we have a ton of pacific assets from him and contributors and none from ED as of yet. I tip my hat to all involved for bringing this to the community. It has 100% increased the level of enjoyment flying the Corsair. -
Definitely a much better Corsair experience with a proper Naval fleet, Japanese assets on deck, and B-29's assisting in taking out AAA before my run.
